We had booked a suite with a wonderful river biew and were rewarded at first by a back view one. I decided to not accept and they finally provided a river view, but without smile. The room is poor, 3 stars only, furniture really poor Great location and good service Pool too cold for me Great buffet at night, just accross the river, with good music and very romantic ambiance... but not cheap at 1500 THB each ! I will not go back here to sleep but perhaps to dine.

We stayed at Ramada for 3 nights before going home. The hotel is in a good location with an terrace by the maenam river. The rooms are clean and functional, food also. We often spent our holidays in Thailand we know the warmth of this land very well. I´d missed the wide range of plants and flowers and the thai hospitality. The desk manager all have american nicknames. I cannot understand, because when you are in Thailand you don´t need american things to feel good. The hotel complex was built in a strict kind of strongness with a lot of glass and concrete - I think it´s not Thaistyle. Rooms are big enough even when you stay with two children. Resume: I think for the price it´s ok, but our taste is much more Thai. Kop khun kah.

We have stayed at menam in 2002,2006,2007,2008,2009,2010. This year we booked a upgraded plaza suite. Imagine oue suprise when we got the same room as in 2009. I asked the service manager and he told me it was executive plaze suites. I have always been very happy about my stay at menam but this was the first experience of many that the service is going down. Anyway so we paid alot more to get the same as last year. Second experience is the internet. It is so slow that it is hard to do anything on it. To pay close to 1400 baht for that service is a total joke. It hasnt improved in speed since 2002. Every year i hope and every year i get disappointed. another bad experience was upon checkout. My son had had a nosebleed the night before and we had to pay extra to clean the pillow. I understand if we get billed for an action we took on purpose as in smashing a vase or such but when it is accidental the hotel should be able to pick up a cleaning tab, especially when we are only talking about 400 baht. On the positive side the rooms where perfect (except that we got the wrong catagory), staff where very helpfull everywhere. I enjoy seeing many of the old staff again and again.

A good tourist hotel but not much of a surrounding neighborrhood. A well run and maintained hotel but a bit too clinical for me. My kids had a ball. Staff was very helpful to us. Good buffet but awful coffee. No surprise. Too strong. Frequent shuttle boat to the main ferry pier. Out front taxis would not use the meter unless threatend. Again, no surprise. Rooms were a bit empty looking but very clean. Off shower adjustment but quickly learned. Outragouly high laundry bill. $70 american dollors for a sack of tourist clothes to wash. Go accross the street instead. Not a good place for deep imersion into Bangkok life. But a good insulated hotel for timid travelers.

But when you booked a Grande Deluxe Room and the website said ALL GRANDE DELUXE ROOM HAVE RIVER VIEW and when you check in, they said ONLY FEW rooms have, hummmm, Why not booking cheaper room and be sure you will get the river view? The hotel was very quiet at this time and they gave us a room on the parking lot with a far and side view of the river!!! This was a Big MINUS for this hotel. PLEASE CHANGE THIS INFORMATION. Otherwise everything was perfect.

On a pris deux chambres pour nous et les enfants communicantes. Géniale mais la leur sentait de temps en temps la cigarette à cause de la clim. Sinon, la nourriture n est pas bonne et hors de prix. Préférer l extérieur. Cependant le cadre est très haut de gamme et agréable. La clim est hyper froide. Sinon le service est extra. Ne surtout pas utiliser les services de la laverie hors de prix. C est sur tous les services accessoires qu il se rattrape car le prix petit déj inclu était de 120 euros pour deux chambre (50% de rabais pour celle des enfants). L hotel est excentré mais ils ont leur navette pour rejoindre la station principale. Le mieux le taximeter avec compteur, imbattable. Eviter les triporteurs.

A true oasis in an otherwise very noisy and busy city! Lies by the river and has a nice pool area, great restaurants - The waves lies by the river and has great food, thai, japanese, chinese or western, whatever you like. Gym was good. The hotel has its own river boat which takes you to the main pier in 8 minutes. From there, you can go on long tail boat trips, or take the BTS sky train to other parts of the city.

Everything worked out fine. Perfect hotel for a family---the children loved the pool. Plenty of sunbeds---not so many guests in the hotel. Wonderful breakfast. Easy and perfect situated at the river---free transfer by hotel boat to sky-train. Smooth transfer by taxi- no problem of the traffic situation- to the airport . The hotel is situated close to the highway. Good value for the money.

Very clean, quiet, with helpful and efficient staff. Everything was perfect. We had a river view from our room. It is the second time I have stayed at this hotel. I like the location, it is always cooler on the river than in the centre of town. Transport to and from the hotel is excellent by water and connections to the sky bus. Taxis are readily available too.

The hotel is very conveniently located with excellent transport systems to take guests anywhere in Bangkok (and beyond) quickly and comfortably. My husband and I stayed at this hotel 11 years ago, and found it the perfect place to stay for our time in Bangkok then, and that is true today too. The hotel has been improved since then, but the work in progress did not disturb us. The staff are friendly and helpful. Every request was met with promptly and cheerfully. I will stay there again anytime I am in Bangkok.

Two good things about the hotel. Really fine service with hotel boat too Taksin skytrain. Breakfast was tastefull, but the coffee was cold. 5 stars to the hotel ?? No never. And we will not recommend this hotel to anyone. Not enough sunbeds at the pool. Room not clean enough. Ordered wine for dinner - had to wait 30 min. - the food became cold. Water running out on the floor in the bathroom when showering. Staff at breakfast seemed crossed and not interested in the guests. So next time it will be another hotel at the riverside. Thank god we had fantastic experiences in Krabi and Hua Hin. Will NOT be back !!

Menam riverside hotel is really remote. No restaurants or shops anywhere near to walk. River shuttle is nice so you can get to other things. Hotel people really can't communicate. The personnel are all very pleasant and try to help. Internet is a big problem. Only access is 260THB for 3 hours which is O.k. but you have to use it all at once. No real bar area with anything going on...if you don't go anywhere you are really stuck with nothing to do.

Very nice hotel--clean and well-appointed rooms, nice breakfast, and fantastic service. They allowed us to keep our room until 8pm the evening of our departure from Bangkok due to our late flight--with no extra charge. Everything was fine, wee have been satisfacted. good hotel, good and clean rooms, nice and clean Bathrooms. Good breakfast buffet. Tip: If you go to international airport with a taximeter-taxi, don't pay 500,-- Baht like the taxi driver wants. Let the taxidrvers use the taximeter, than you pay less than 230,-- Baht + 55,-- Baht for Highway-toll. Tell him: No taximeter, no money - ist works. I have put on the taximeter by myself by switch on the start-bottom...

Accommodation and facilities:
Well situated hotel, with good access on ferry shuttle to markets. Room very clean and tidy with outlook over river and good facilities. Staff helpful and cheerful. Unfortunately, I lost my camera around the lounge-bar, and although I have emailed the hotel, I have had no reply yet.
Reservation service:
Booking service very good. Would have liked to be able to pre-book a taxi from airport to hotel, but this proved very easy to organize on arrival.
