LOCATION-LOCATION-LOCATION I have stayed at the Regent Silom for the past...5+years when I need a BKK weekend. The hotel is a few steps away from the Skytrain, Patong night market and clubs. The small, hotel is basic, not for the 4-5 star traveler or family. (I am still waiting for the owner to improve the showers and make sure the TV's are programed for all the channels.) Great, friendly staff.

We had made a reservation for two nights at Regent Silom hotel but we only stayed one night. Because there where so much noise from the street and sheets were dirty. So in the morning we told them that we would like to check out and they told us that we have to pay for two nights anyway. On the website you can´t se how bad it´s really are. It´s defently not 3 star hotell. Maybe 1 or 2 star hotell.

Reservation service:
The hotel told us that we have to pay for two nights anyway so because of that we checked out late. But then the hotel told SiameServices that we checked out late and because of that we have to pay for two nights.

The reason for staying at the Regent Silom is for its location. It is a few steps away to the Skytrain and close to the Silom night life and market. It is not close to the good shopping complexes of Siam Center, but you can take a 8 minute Skytrain direct to the area. The basic hotel is plain yet clean. The cramped bathrooms have very small sinks and(as usual) there is usually something wrong with the shower spray or heater. The TV reception is poor and limited. The marble floor hallway seems to magnify noise so in the morning it is easy to be awakened from guests who are early risers. I have stayed her many times due to staying just a couple nights - not a long stay.

It was quick to get a confirmation within a few hours.

If you need to stay in the Silom area, this is the place to stay since it is a few steps away from the Skytrain station = Saladaeng Station and close to the night venues. The rooms are very basic and on the dark side. Not a place to spend all day in, just to sleep at.

Extremely Bad stay. Would not recommend to any one. Extremely cold attitude of the people. Breakfast not worthy of being taken in. Romms are very small, hardly space to move around but that does not show in pictures on site. Better avoid the stay as you can get better hotels with same or just a little more price.

Reservation service:
The booking service was good and fast but the pictures on net are deceptive.

I have stayed at the Regent Silom many times the last three years (on weekends). The only reason for staying at the Regent Silom is its location...a few steps away to the Saladang Skytrain Station and close to the night life in Silom. The simple rooms are very basic but clean. The channels on the TV never seem to all work; and the bathrooms are small with poor lighting and vanity space. For the value, cleanliness, security and locaton it is a good deal. But it is basically good for sleeping only and not for spending a day of leisure in like in a bigger hotel. (don't bother to get up for the breakfast unless you re really hungry.)

Check in 23 Feb 09 (Mon) afternoon, got a nice, clean deluxe room. Excellent service from the start ie taxi stopped at the doorway (its a very narrow lane but the taxi driver make an effort to drive in) Greeted by friendly hotel staff receptionist like Bo,Off n others.Excellent hotel location esp near the night pasar malam just outside the hotel, many amenities. Very safe and good security measures taken by receptionist prior to entering the lift to the rooms. Only one thing to improve the key to the room. (ie to upgrade to keyless) Enjoyed my stay and will return again.

The reason for staying at the Regent Silom is for its location. It is right in the vibrant night life area and right in front of the entrance is the Skytrain station. The rooms are basic, no frills but clean. A frustration I have everytime I stay at this small hotel is that the TV stations are not always programmed into the TV...and some rooms have a musty-moldy smell due to poor ventilation.

The LOCATION is probably the BEST think of this hotel. Very close to BTS and MRT station, BTS Sala Deang is just outside the hotel, and this is the best method of travel in bangkok.. Big center with stores and restaurants on the other side of the street; but you can find food, markets, clothes, stores everywhere at anytime. Gays area. Discounts on massages but men be careful... ask for women, the guys could ask you for and extra job during the massage... that's what happened to my boyfriend and I was just near him!! Extremely embarassing if is not what are you looking for.. well, we booked for a superior room (THB 1350). The first room was very small, without window which is really unconfortable (seems to be in a tomb), plus there was a bug just near the bed so we asked for another room. We had to pay an extra for the second room, but is not mentioned anywhere that you have to pay more for a room with window but well... nothing can view from window, just a roof top but it was so much better! Aircond works well. Some terrible smell come out from the toilet, but clean. Breakfast is REALLY POOR and BORING. The front desk staff are very helpful and friendly but I don't know if I will come back.. maybe just for the location!

The hotel (because that's what it is; not serviced apartments) is ideally located. It is also clean and secure. Most of the staff are pleasant and helpful; but not all. The hotel's greatest weaknesses are ... 1. There is no hot water in the basin for shaving. 2. The hotel advertises cable tv but the reception is that bad that almost all channels cannot be viewed and those that can are likely to simply change to be another channel half way through a programme or just simply go off the air completely. 3. The hotel advertises internet access but in reality this is limited to just two computers (one of which rarely works) and as there is no hotel rule about time limit, you could, as I was, be forced to wait more than two hours to check my email.

Reservation service:
The booking service was great ... replies to emails and questions were very quick and alternatives were offered when a 1st preference booking became unavailable.

The hotel is a bit cramped however it is clean. The window is sealed with glass hence unable to open, it makes the room stuffy and some terrible smell come out from the toilet from the drain hole. The breakfast is great and healthy. However, I would be more appreciate if the meals could be changed every 3 days. Otherwise you will become bore if you stay too many days and having the same breakfast. The waiter serve the breakfast is polite and friendly. The front desk staff are very helpful and friendly. They always tried best to help you in getting useful tourist information, direction etc.

Very clean, decent place. First night room had window facing the bar street out front. It was essentially too loud to sleep. They let us switch without too much trouble. Second room had only window in bathroom, and was much better, but had a slight smell without the air-conditioner on. Would stay there again but I prefer cheaper hotels on Khao San road.

The Regent Silom

Accommodation and facilities:
I stayed at deluxe room 301.The room cost about SGD65/night. The room a bit small. Nothing can view from window. Just a roof top. The hotel is very convenient and located near to the Sala Daeng skytrain station with 2 minute walking distance. Just 2 stop to Siam Paragon & 3 stop to Central World or Erawan Shrine (4 faces buddha)through Sala Daeng skytrain station. 1 stop to Suan Lum Bazaar Night Market through Silom MRT station. The hotel is located near to the Thailand most famous night life area - Patpong (within 5 minutes walking distance). The hotel receptionist very friendy and quick to response. Need to highlight here, there is a lot of gay gathering at surrounding area and even there have some stay at the hotel. The hotel's breakfat need to improve as everyday they serve the same food i.e 2 fried egg and hot dog, 1 cup of coffee or tea and 1 cup of orange juice. Overall rating is good. Definitely, i will stay at RSSA when I visit Bangkok-Thailand again.

Reservation service:
Good and Quick response. Hopefully, give some discount when there is a lot room booking or extend to stay. ( Totally i booked 6 rooms and extend 1 night but there is no discount given.)

Better than ever, altho the price had gone up this time. Staff have gotten to know me so they are very polite and friendly. Still, don't expect frills. This is a functional hotel with basic but clean rooms in a great location for single people on holiday! Oh, and the fact that it has no windows is great for keeping out the street noise of the city!

Reservation service:
Very efficient.

My booking to extend my stay for another 2 days was no fuss... I will be back!

The stay was pleasant and stuff was helpful. Location is ideal for night life lovers as it is in few steps from Patpong. Besides hotel is deep in the courtyard and there is no any noise comming from the street. Thanks to reviews from those who stayed in earlier and it helped a lot to find the hotel quickly...Deluxe room we stayed in was quite big and clean. Only one cockroach during three nights stay!..I would recommend this hotel for sure.

Reservation service:
Easy, quick, no problem.

Accommodation and facilities:
Location, location, location! You practically live right on the skytrain entrance in Silom. As for the room and breakfast you get what you pay for, nothing extravagant in other words...No windows or view, but no noise from the busy silom rd or nightmarkets either. Internet access in the reseption, Baskin Robbins and travelagency as well. Walking distance to Lumpini Park. We will stay here again now that we know where it is (even the limo-driver had difficulty finding it...)

Reservation service:
All night had to be payed in advance wich makes flexible travelling more difficult.

I have been staying in this hotel for the 5 times & it seems that the condition of the rooms are getting worse. The staffs are quite friendly though. In some rooms, the aircon is not cool enough & some water heaters are not functioning. On one occasion, the aircon was leaking very badly unitl the nearby wardrobe is badly corroded. It was apparent that the water problem is exisiting for a long time cos there were towels on the floor to soak up the water when we checked in. When complained about the problem of the aircon, the housekeeping would only come to clean the filters. The floor is sometimes sticky to step on. If not for its location (which is very near to Saladaeng BTS), I would probably pay a slightly higher price & stay at the Swiss Lodge.

It is just 5 mins walk to the Saladaeng BTS Train and Silom MRT station. Strong recomended for the gay travelers, only 5 mins walk to the gogo bars.
