C est en plus un emplacement de choix, tout près du marché de nuit, pas loin de la city centre!. Hôtel à recommander à tous ceux qui partent dans ce coin!!!!

This is a nice hotel with beautiful decoration. I, with my wife and son stayed for three nights (Jan. 24-26th). Everything seemed good except only one thing. Our depature flight is in the early morning and I told the Hotel that we had to check out around 6:30AM. Since the breakfast starts at 7:00AM, I told them afternoon the day before we check out that it's OK that we would not take the breakfast. When I checked out at 6:30AM I was informed that we had to pay THB500 for my son's breakfast for two days as the room rate only included the breakfast for two persons. I asked if it's possible to exempt it because we don't take today's breakfast. The Hotel staff's reply is I ve already prepared today's breakfast and you can take it now . In fact there's nothing prepared in the kitchen at that time (PS. there re only 12 rooms in this Hotel. The cook makes the breakfast as per guest's order.). Of course the room rate didn't include my son's breakfast and I should pay and paid for it. THB500 is the small money. However if I were the manager of the hotel I would not charge it.

This was a wonderful place where I spent Christmas with my family. It was perfect. Beautiful and homey, luxurious and personal. It's family owned and run. They really make you feel at home. If you re looking for a very comfortable and very Thai experience, Amata Lanna has both with it's gorgeous tradtional design, gardens and service. I'll definitely return!

The Amata Lanna hotel and its staff made a great first impression. We have stayed there for 4 nights and during our stay we were slightly dissapointed mainly because of the quality of hotel service e.g. there is no choice for the breakfast, they did not want to made a late check-out without a reasonable reason. Nevertheless the hotel is beautifull and the stay we have found fair enough.

great location to stay in the center of Chinag Mai whilst still enjoying a quiet, cozy atmosphere in a beautiful garden with nice pool, lush vegetation, beautifully and rich furnished rooms and very attentive service. The best you can possibly choos if you prefer a small hotel with 12 rooms instead of staying in a big hotel. It is completely worth the money.

This is a charming, small hotel that brings the jungle into the city. Within the walled compound there is an abundance of trees and shrubbery and a small plunge pool. The room was comfortable and spacious and although it was Thai style fortunately the bed was Western style . Breakfast under the trees in the relative cool of the morning was delightful. The Amata Lanna is really a B&B type hotel but there are several restaurants nearby. The Night Market is within comfortable walking distance. The staff were extremely helpful and they epitomised The land of smiles , always smiling. A residence with character that is highy recommended.

This was our first time to Thailand, this hotel was a very nice beginning to a 3 week vacation. The staff at the Amata Lanna was outstanding and very accomodating in helping suggest restaurants, spa s, shopping, taxi, or anything else we might have needed. The room was very beautifully decorated, clean, had everything we needed. Breakfast was served by the pool with a variety of selections to choose from, and great coffee! The location was nice, just a short walk to town. We only stayed 3 nights, and could have stayed longer.

Amazing old Lanna style small hotel just a walking distance from the night bazaar. Wonderful rooms and bathrooms with jaccuzzi with all amenities. The staff is one of the most pleasant and efficient I never met in Thailand. No restaurant but breakfast is upon your request, you can have what you want, just close to the swimming pool, coffee is the best I got during my 12 days trip in the North. I would recommend this hotel for those who like to feel in another ambiance than in the hotels classic & international hotel.

I stayed in this hotel for Three Nights. The hotel is really like a paradise... very quite, trees all over the hotel with traditional style of decoration.. Large bathroom with huge Jacuzzi, i like this so much. The staffs are the type of what you really like to deal with, very very friendly & so helpful. Location is good, it is about 10 min walking to night bazaar. ... Ah...time is over… i have to prepare for my coming soon trip to Amata Lanna... see you over there...

i can't recommend this hotel highly enough to anyone looking to stay in chiang mai. the hotel is very beautiful, in lanna style and right near the river ping. my room was a deluxe which had jacuzzi tub, and a gorgeous four poster bed. the attention to detail in the rooms was also lovely, with the carved wood doors to the bathroom, etc. the room was kept immaculate the entire time i was there. the hotel is a stone's throw to the river boats that take you to the ancient city. it is a couple of blocks removed from anusan night market where i had some excellent seafood as well as the antique house restaurant which excels at northern specialties. the staff was incredibly courteous and attentive the length of my stay, including plates of fresh fruit every afternoon when i would return to freshen up before going out for dinner, etc. i will definitely be returning in the future.

A beautiful peaceful spot in the centre of Chiang Mai. It is a 10 minute walk from the night bazaar, where we found a great inexpensive food court. The staff were very friendly. The owner even arranged golf for us as a guest at her husband's golf club. Rooms are spacious and beautifully decorated. Very Thai. Nice a la carte breakfast every morning by the pool. Free internet access on their hotel computers. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting Chiang Mai.

What a hidden jewel! Comments from this website took us there and we couldn't have been more pleased with the stylish rooms, and warm hospitable service. Easy walking distance to night bazaar and cafes. Arranged for tours as well as airport transfers. Nice fresh made breakfasts by the pool, eggs, meat, fruit, etc. Street traffic noise was there, but not too difficult to tune it out. Beautiful rooms in a lovely and peaceful environment (too bad there was some construction noise just across the street, but that should be finished in ~6 mos - we were there the 1st wk of Oct 2008). The staff is very pleasant & helpful - just be sure you get someone who speaks English well if you want to book a tour...) Only 12 rooms, you really feel at home - and are spoiled with daily fruit treats, etc. Despite the inconvenience of the noise across the street (which will no longer be an issue once construction is completed), we d return in a heartbeat! We definitely recommend it (and it's within easy walking distance to night bazaar, etc without the hustle and bustle of being within the walled city.)

Our holiday was planned as a present to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary and what a lovely place we picked to stay. Originally we chose to stay 4 nights and extended to 7. The Amata Lanna is relatively new, spotless, staff are lovely and the serenity a perfect place to relax in. This place is not in your local travel agents, but it should be. This really is a great place to stay - staff are so friendly and helpful and rooms are truly beautiful. It is 5-10 mins from night bazaar. Plenty of choice at breakfast and free internet service using their computer( much appreciated by my 2 teenage daughters). No problems with hotel's Pick up service from airport. There is some building work noise from nearby property in day but as hotel plays discrete classical music around pool don't let this put you off. Would definitely stay here again.

This was the best hotel we stayed in while in Thailand. Our room was extremely comfortable and spotlessly clean. The garden courtyard and swimming pool area had a jungle feeling to it. Although it does not have a restaurant there are plenty, including the night market, within a 5-10 minute walk. The only downside is the traffic noise from the road on the other side of the hotel wall.

Beautiful 10-room hotel with friendly and helpful staff who seems to put a lot of pride into their treatment of their guests. Personal attention without ever getting to the point of being annoying. Built in old Northern Thai style but with a jacuzzi and a fairly big flat screen TV in the room. Everything is well maintained and looks new. If not travelling on a tight budget a few days at Amata Lanna Chiangmai should be a very plesant experience. Definately a place to remember.

A Stunning little piece of paradise in close proximity to the main city/night bazar. Fantastic rooms, fantastic Service and general helpfulness of the staff. Could not have asked any more from them at all. Our only disapointment, was the location of the swiming pool, that seemed to be in the shade for most of the day. But then if your out all day, then this is not an issue. Would definately return again.

Absolutely stunningly gorgeous place! High quality, lavish, tastefully authentic interior decor. The exterior of the Lanna-style buildings are beautiful too (the library/internet room is up in the trees on stilts!) and the garden/landscaping perfect with a lovely calm, soothing atmosphere (instrumental traditional Thai music playing in the courtyard/pool area undercut with the sound of the fountains). There were hardly any other guests there on the same weekend as us and the service top notch. We felt like the whole place was just for us. Heavenly. Oh and the location is quite good too, right near Wat Chaimongkol that has a pier on the Ping from which you can take river cruises and best of all, it's just a 5-min. walk to the night market. Oh and you must check out the restaurant across the street (at the next corner on your left when you step out the gate of the Amanta Lanna), it's a bit pricey (for Thailand) but top-notch and apparently world-renowned in the foodie set (some French co. did a coffee table book about it).

This is an absolute GEM~!! Like all the other reviews of this hotel, it is NOT like any hotel you have ever stayed in, with 12 quaint rooms styled in the true Northern Thsi Lanna style....you will feel like you are staying in someone's home and not a hotel. They provide Level 10 Hospitality and Service, the staff makes you feel like a long time friend and not a guest. The breakfast is made to order not a buffet, followed by a nicely prepared fruit tray, and every day when you return to the hotel, they will bring a nice fruit tray to you. The rooms are elegant in the Lanna style with wooden floors and a HUGE Jacuuzi in the bathroom. When I return to Chiang Mai.....I will stay NO Where else. You must try Amata Lanna, even if only for one night, treat yourself. It ws 4000 BHAT a night but worth every dime. The only drawback for me was a long time wait for hot water and then the water pressure was low which I thing is attributed to the type of shower head, they have large round overhead nozzle so it feels like you are standing in the rain which would be nice if there was more pressure and hot water came quicker. I asked the hotel to provide a driver for me and they got me a very nice female taxi driver, she was very knowldgeable and took us everywhere.......we were 8 hrs one day and 10 the next and it was 1500 Bhat the first day and 2000 BHAT for the longer day, for me, it was also a good value.

Breakfast is made to order and in the late afternoon you get some fresh fruit ready to eat to your room. Great!! Only small disadvantage: the hotel is nearby a sometimes busy road. The hotel is small but very nice. From outside it is hard to find, but when you step in the patio you feel like in a small paradise. It's not comparable with one of these great hotels with big impressive lobby but rooms like cages. Here all is very personal. Every room - they have names not numbers - is very special. It has nice handmade furniture and the contrat of lanna style with modern elements fits very well. The stuff is very helpful and friendly in all ways. I can suggest this hotel without any limitation.

The Amata Lanna is a small boutique hotel which is reasonably priced and outstanding value for money. The hotel is absolutey stunning and extremely well maintained. All communal areas were beautifully designed and well thought out. The rooms were gorgeously decorated, with every facility required - widescreen tv, soft bed, silk pillows, coffee & tea making facilities, marble bath, even scented tissues. The decor is traditional Thai style and very nicely done. I have never stayed in a room so beautiful and comfortable. The staff at the hotel are friendly, corteous and very efficient, from a glass of juice immediately on arriving to bringing fresh fruits in the afternoon. Nothing is too much trouble and they took the time to chat to us about our stay each morning and evening. The table service breakfast was also very nice, allowing us to have our food cooked exactly as we wanted it. The location was perfect for visiting Chiang Mai - 5 minutes from the night bazaar where we could shop and eat each evening. The Amata Lanna is probably the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in, so much more personal than luxury chains and to a much higher standard in my opinion. We had a wonderful stay here. If we come back to Chiang Mai (which I sincerely hope we are able to) I will definately stay at The Amata Lanna. Thank you!

I would recomend this hotel for couples who want to stay in a romantic place and a small hotel with only few rooms and no noise. the hotel is just 5 minutes from the night bazar, 3 minutes from a massage salon and also from a laundry. the pool is very small and in december is not possible to swim because nights are chilly.I don't recomend the hotel for couples with small children because there is not enough place in the hotel to play or to run.But even with children I loved this place.

un hotel de charme en plein centre.Un calme absolu, un personnel fantastique. La piscine est petite et pendant l hiver elle est très froide. Ce sont seulement les danois qui ont piqué une tête! je conseille cet hôtel pour des voyageurs qui souhaitent découvrir un hotel de charme et rester dans un endroit central mais très calme, sans animation. il y a seuelement 12 chambres.nous y sommes restés avec 2 enfants de bases ages, nous avons adoré l hôtel mais je ne conseille pas pour des couples avec petits enfants car l hôtel est petit et il n y a pas assez d espace pour les enfants. l hôtel n est pas vraiment fait familles nombreuses, ni pour handicapés.

Excellent hotel from all its sides : refined Thai architecture and decoration, sophisticated materials, comfortable wide rooms, human sized hotel (12 rooms)...in other words a little paradise well located next to Night Bazar, temples and other facilities. i was very happy with my stay at this hotel. The rooms were beautiful as was the hotel, immaculately clean and the staff were fantastic. Only one negative point was that in the morning there was some traffic noise, but it certainly didnt spoil our stay.

This is a lovely boutique hotel, comprised of 12 units in two stories surrounding a small swimming pool. The architecture and furnishings, in the lanna style, are very unique. It is a 10 minute walk to the famous night market. The staff are very helpful and friendly and the breakfasts, served outdoors around the pool, are delicious.

Reservation service:
Very efficient, but unusual to require full payment before arrival. A deposit should be adequate.

A great hotel in an excellent location. Only 5 minutes walk to the night bazaar and 10 - 15 min to the Walking markets and Old City centre. The rooms are beautiful and the staff could not be more helpful.

The most beautiful hotel we ever stayed in ! The staff is very helpful and takes care of customers. We stayed there only 3 nights, but it was wonderful. Rooms are very clean, staff offer you delicious fresh fruits during the day, the breakfast is mouthwatering and it is close to all convenience. Really nice! (just a remark; That's a pity that used water is thrown in nature...)

This is an exceptionally wonderful boutique hotel in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The decor has been tastefully done in northern Thai style with gorgeous carved wood doors, ellegantly appointed bathrooms, comfortable canopy beds, framed historical photographs of Chiang Mai and numerous other unique touches. The location is quiet and peaceful, yet within walking distance of downtown. The staff is very attentive and thoughtful. The included multi-course breakfast is fabulous and they serve artfully carved fresh fruit in the late afternoon. I hated to leave. We enjoyed our stay very much and plan to return.
