Arun Tara Hotel
Accommodation and facilities:
This is really a fantastic hotel. It's not big but gave us the impression that it's a big hotel brand. Staff is very friendly. Room is set up for us as honeymooner. We enjoyed a lot of the walking along the river starting from Arun Tara. And we walked to Night Bazaar. It's not as remote as we imagined.

Nice BFK not buffet type, you can order what you want and was freshly prepared. Try out hotel spa twice during 3nights stay as they are much better than listed/chain-store spa I ve visited. Spa manager Ms. Chanisara is very skillful & sensitive(focus yr needs) who makes the massage extremely relaxing, highly recommend. Pool very small didn't try.

Accommodation and facilities:
I stayed in Arun Tara hotel for about 10 days, and I must say that I felt home from minut 1. The staff is very friendly, the location is just out of the centre which make is very quit in the night time, the river is located behind the splendid garden. Realy nice , new, and clean hotel. I got an upgread to the Elephant suite, bcs of renovation works on SPA, I even got a free massage at the end. Congratulations, to the owners/ I had a great time. Free internet is also a big +. Only minus point is :that I had to pay 500 bath the last day for already used ( by myself ) slippers. For a high class hotel like yours, should that little item be included !!!That 500 bath was just over the line...The shower on the swimming pool give also only cold water...It should be nice to take a warm shower after swimming....But for the rest I can only say and dream that where ever I will travel in future, I can have a hotel like Arun Tara ! Definatly a good reason to come back in November this year. Succes to you all. Michael Jules Romeo.

Accommodation and facilities:
We enjoed our stay at Sri Tara. Accomodation was excellent, room clean and staff 1st Class. As only open early 2008 we found that not many guest's so lacked a bit of atmosphere, although the surrounding we to die for. Highly recommended, a little out of town 60BHT taxi, with few local shops for tourist. Staff trying very hard and if your looking for a relaxing time you can't go past Sri Tara

RECREATION
|
Recreation Re-energizing body and mind is the theme of all the activities arranged
by the Aruntara and other specialized operators. Chiang Mai is considered
by many as a quaint, traditional and somewhat spiritual city, in truth
Chiang Mai City has developed into a modern, cosmopolitan and chic mini
metropolis, and a smaller but much prettier alternative to Bangkok.
With the existence of many temples, of which there are more than 300,
this gives the city a genuinely traditional Thai ambiance. There are
various activities around Chiang Mai and its neighboring provinces to
enjoy such as a trip to Phrathat Doi Suthep temple. The temple is often
referred to as Doi Suthep although this is actually the name of the
mountain it is located on. The temple is located 15 km from Aruntara
and is a must see for all visitors to Chiang Mai. For those also seeking a rich cultural experience but closer to town,
visits to some of the famous Chiang Mai temples are a must. Most of
the temples are located in the old city, the most significant are Wat
Chiang Man, Wat Pra Singh and Wat Chedi Luang. You can easily rent a
bike or (if it's cool enough) walk to the majority of these temples. Many people come to Chiang Mai and its neighboring provinces to go
trekking and for good reason, just out of town are a number of spectacular
treks waiting to be experienced. You can go in a group, hire a private
guide or if you like (and have adequate experience) go completely independently. Close by are accessible hill tribe settlements including Karen, Lisu, Lahu, Shan, Akha, Hmong, Palong and Mien Tribes. Their settlements are scattered all around the huge expanse of the Chiang Mai province. The ambiance within these villages is certainly one of harmony, and they definitely don't seem to be opposed to tourists coming to visit, but do bear in mind that these are real villages with real people, so please give them the respect they deserve and dress accordingly. Before heading off in pursuit of the hill tribes a good place to begin your observation of the different ethnic cultures experienced in this region is by visiting the Tribal Museum Featured are an array of handicrafts made by the tribal people themselves, and general background information regarding their cultures. |
