Kaomai Lanna Resort Chiangmai
Accommodation and facilities:
We went there en-route to Bangkok from our holiday in Mae Hong Son. The resort should not advertise Pets welcome as they charged an additional 500 Baht for my pet dog. Very average room, with a lot of ants on the bed. The staff pretended not to understand when we asked them about the ant problem.

Surrounding is great and fantastic. Breakfast should be approved. If the hotel have less customer, the breakfast should not be buffet but a la carte or in set in stead. Room condition is good but the bath room seemed to have bad smell out all the time.

Kaomai Lanna Resort Chiangmai
Accommodation and facilities:
The hotel was awesome! We went during october, and the entire resort was very clean and well taken care of. the service of the staff was the best we had ever seen in Thailand, and it was very relaxing. The natural beauty of the place was incredible. We definitely plan to go back in the future. It is a bit far Chiang Mai, but that is what makes it so calm and relaxing. We rented a car, and we were able to go and come as we pleased.
Reservation service:
just right. we got the room at half the price of other booking services that we saw.

Accommodation and facilities:
The hotel is about 30 minutes from the airport. This is a nice comfortable hotel with most friendly and helpful staff. It was nearer the main road than we expected but the traffic couldn't be heard from the rooms, which are quite unique and of a good standard. The gardens are pleasant and the atmosphere is one of peace and quiet. The food on offer is fine, although there is little to find as an alternative within walking distance. For those looking for an out of town location, close to all the things people want to see and do in the region (e.g. Doi Interon and Chang Camp etc), then for the price Kaomailanna is hard to beat.

Kaomai Lanna Resort Chiangmai
Accommodation and facilities:
This is an ideal getaway if you re looking for something truly peaceful, so perhaps not quite suitable for children. But in all other ways I cannot recommend this resort enough. The setting is magnificent, the grounds have been tended with great care. The staff are extremely friendly and polite and the food is not only reasonably priced, it's absolutely delicious too. Not having your own transport could make this a difficult choice but still a managable one. All in all a very memorable experience.
Reservation service:
Absolutely smooth - it all went off without the slightest hitch.

Kaomai Lanna Resort Chiangmai
Accommodation and facilities:
These old tobacco barns provide most unusual accommodation. Really different from anything else we stayed in. A quiet hide-away that's not for ravers. Huge bed in a good size room. Quirky old furniture and nice decor. The ground floor units must be pretty dark though because of the luxuriant greenery surrounding each barn. In early February it was chilly in the evenings and at breakfast - staff were wearing scarves and thick jackets. But lovely and warm after 10am. We had the huge pool to ourselves for three days. Just pick up the poolside phone and order food and drink - Bliss! Great cocktails. A wonderfully atmospheric and cheap local Saturday market at San Pa Tong. Borrow the bikes and cycle there.
Reservation service:
Trouble free and easy as usual.

| Kaomai Lanna Hotel and Resort is a unique boutique accommodation
on the route from Chiangmai to Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in
Thailand. Our rooms are renovated from the former tobacco curing barns,
decorated in contemporary Lanna style with colonial style teak wood
antique furniture. Kaomai Lanna Resort is perfect for the true nature lover. Surrounded by a big, beautiful tropical garden in Chiang Mai, the resort features unique rooms converted from real tobacco curing barns and furnished with colonial style antique furniture. 50 years ago the tobacco industry in the northern part of Thailand reached its peak, and tobacco farms and curing barns flourished. But time passed and things changed. 30 years later other developments came; the tobacco curing barns faded from the northern part of Thailand, replaced by orchards and real-estate projects. Most of the barns were destroyed but it was decided that at least a few reminders from the old days should be remain. So 18 old barns were converted into 36 lively guestrooms in a peaceful garden and became known as the charming Kaomai Lanna Resort. |

>>> Inside Kaomai In the garden, swarms of butterflies fly around the flowers. Through the bushes, squirrels and small birds move along the branches. On the ground, many varieties of palm trees abound along with wild orchids hanging from giant trees, big clumps of bamboo and several kinds of tropical plants. Enjoy our uniquely relaxing swimming pool in the peaceful garden. Cycling around our natural area is also possible. Get relaxed by our Thai traditional massage service. |

ACCOMMODATION
| Looking at these barns from the outside ,one can see
the roofs made of corrugated steel sheets and the old red-brick walls,
unchanged throughout the past 50 years. Step inside however, and you
have entered a new world . Kaomai Lanna is created as a community-based resort, operating under the principles of environmental and community sustainability. The resort was built based on the balance between the nature and the culture: 18 tobacco curing barns were nicely renovated from the total long aged 48 barns into 36 lively guestrooms. Inside the barn, the rooms are decorated in Post- Lanna style with antique Thai Burmese colonial antique furniture. The resort is surrounded with tropical shady towering trees, varieties of palms and bamboo, leafy fruit trees and wild flowers. The upper and lower level rooms are furnished in 4 unique ways. While guests on upper floors will experience the Thai traditions of sleeping on a mattress set on a raised teak wooden floor, guests on the lowers floor will find their rooms furnished with authentic teak wood antique beds. |
