Very Nice hotel within very short walking distance to the Night bazar! Nice rooms, very good breakfast buffet, small but very Nice swimmingpool area and good service overall. Eventhough the hotel is placed in red light district it's absolutely no problem at all. We are travelling with younger children, but All the girls's from the bars were very nice each time we walked by. We would absolutely stay at this hotel again!

We were travelling with an 8 month old bay and needed a base in Chiang Mai for our first two nights in Thailand to get over the 3No flights it took to get there. Priority was facilities and location where we could walk to everywhere we needed to visit and reassurance that the quality of the accommodation would be of a suitable standard. The Raming Lodge ticked all the boxes especially with the complimentary airport pick up and although there is quite a lively night life on the street outside noise was not an issue and the staff were great with our needs for use of the kitchen to sterilise bottles and make up feeds at anytime of the day. Short walk to the Sunday market or the main drag and bonus of an off site pool area and good parking for visitors. Rooms where a good size and well maintained plus the free wifi throughout the hotel was incredibly useful. Excellent value for money given the overall standard of the hotel, facilities and service compared to similar priced older accommodation which we have stayed in over the years in Chiang Mai.

If you are looking for luxury go somewhere else. If you want to stay in a nice secure hotel with friendly staff in the best position in Chiang Mai then this is the spot. Maybe not the best family position because of the girlie bars in the evening but if you want to live and breathe Thailand then this is the spot. Very safe even in the early hours of the morning. Do yourself a favour and rent a scooter while you are there.

Raming Lodge was real convenient,less than 5 minute walk to the night market ,restaurants and entertainment areas.The hotel staff were real friendly and was always there to assist.The free pick up service was on time at the airport and the hotel.The Deluxe rooms were good and room was spacious. Breakfast was ok,but don't be fooled by the free mini bar,as they only stock the minibar with 2 cans of cooldrink,as well as 2 open glasses of fruit juice every morning.They also do not stock the minibar with any alcohol.Fruit is also minimal. We did not use the minibar as we were mostly out during the day. Despite the misleading mini bar advertisement,I may use this hotel again.

We really enjoyed our stay at Raming Lodge. The staff were very friendly and plenty of them to assist, some had perfect english and others did not, however they always went to the effort of getting a better english speaking staff if they couldn't understand. The location is handy to the Sunday markets and the Night Bazaar is down the street, but not a long walk at all. There are bars right near hotel and massages across the road that are awesome value. Breakfast were very good, lots of choice and excellent omelletes made to order. Pool was good, its only a back lane that you cross to get to it (30m), I would not be put off by that as some people have mentioned.

Overall good value for money. Except could not find the driver at the airport. They had sent a driver, but what he was doing, who knows. Plane was on time. But they didn't even apologize. Just 120 bath, but it should be a free transfer. Had a deluxe room. Will go for a superiour or change hotel next time. Still, it is not a bad choice of hotel.

I had a wonderful time here. Staff exceedingly friendly and polite, room kept clean, daily snacks put into the room refrigerator well appreciated, A/C a nice relief from the constant heat/humidity you find in Thailand, great location for access to the Old City, complementary ride to the airport made for a nice ending to a stay that was too short. Only drawback I can think of is sometimes (probably when there were a lot of other users online) was the speed of the wifi in the room. NP. Just packed up the laptop and headed over to a cafe 10-15 minutes away that served up the best pad thai and mango smoothie I ve ever had.

I was staying in a deuluxe room.. condition of rooms is great from the paintings on the wall to the size n softness of the bed.. can't complain anything abt the rooms would be a perfect room if they install a DVD player and a better view of the mountains but maybe that's juz my room.. the bathroom is where i have a slight prob.. the water pressure is a little too low for my liking and the water is too hot for the weather but again maybe that's juz my room.. the hotel staff is more than willing to satisfy your every request and the in house travel agency is very efficient n polite. the breakfast spread is way better than most similiar star hotels. all in all a great stay in a fantastic location.

The best hotel I have ever stayed in in Thailand the beds were so comfortable after the hard beds we had slept on elsewhere. The food was lovely try the BBQ kebabs delicious. Friendly staff, very good service. Breakfast was fine. Location is close to nearly everything. Night bazaar and thamea gate in walking distance. Some bars are around the hotel. Free minibar for deluxe rooms includes tasty fresh juices, and some fine snacks, a choice of 1 or 2 soft drinks. But no alcohol, wat was no problem for me. The only thing, i was not so happy with, was some noice from the street in early morning time from moterbikes on the street, even if the rooms are a bit back from the street.

My comments below are based on staying in the deluxe double room . I recommend this as it comes with free wifi which is a real bonus. The hotel is about 15 min from the airport (The return trip to the airport is free of charge when you leave.) Excellent location right on the main bar strip on Loi-Kroh road but is far enough away to avoid the noise at night (ps. If you are looking for hundreds of bars like Patong or Pattaya, Chiang Mai is not for you) Breakfast was excellent with a huge choice and the staff went out of their way to be courteous and friendly. The minibar was free (non alcoholic) and the 2 slices of cake placed in the room each evening went down a treat. These little extras really made a big difference. Reading this back, it almost sounds like I work in the hotels PR dept. (LOL), but credit where credit is due. This was a very pleasant stay in a well run hotel. I also highly recommend a day at the Chiang Mai Thai Cookery School . Its only 990Bt and is a fun day out. The only minor negative was that the room did not have a balcony which I would have expected in a deluxe room. Didn't really bother me at the time but if a balcony is high on your check list, you should probably ask at booking time. Enjoy your trip to Chiang Mai.

Very nice hotel in traditional Thai style. Deluxe room was spacious and included free minibar. Nice bathroom with the little luxuries needed and service was very friendly all round. Excellent location for restaurants, bars, laundry etc and night bazaar only 5 minutes walk. Air con a little noisy a slight gripe but look forward to staying again.

My family stayed at Raming Lodge for 3 nights in March 2009. It is a clean and pleasant hotel with courteous staff, located a short walk away from the night market in Chiang Mai and on what seems to be an entire street of massage chairs! They have a good airport shuttle (free in both directions) and will store luggage (also free) when requested. The hotel's spa was luxurious and very inexpensive by international standards. If I were to criticize anything it would be the international breakfast buffet and restaurant music, which is essentially characterless. Otherwise, Raming Lodge is a good choice for visitors to Chiang Mai.

We were happy with our 4 night stay at the Raming Lodge. we stayed in the deluxe rooms which were very nice and included free internet and minibar. It would have been nice had the minibar had a it more selection (it is far from fully stocked since it was free). The only real complaint was with breakfast. It was not bad, but could have done with a few more western selections. There was a lot of thai food for breakfast so no problems there, but the western choices were lacking...some pastries and potatoes would be nice. All in all, a great place in a good location and we would stay there again. Note: there is no swimming pool.

This was a very well located hotel, a 10 minute walk from the Night Bazaar. The room was very clean and spacious and had a VERY WELL APPOINTED BATHROOM/SHOWER, however the mattress was quite hard. Breakfast was acceptable but not outstanding. The hotel offers a shuttle for transport back to the airport which was quite convenient, just book it ahead of time, especially if you are catching an early morning or late night flight. Interesting situation - we wanted to extend our stay for another night but the hotel was not willing to give us the SiameServices rate we had paid for the previous 2 nights..as a result, I tried booking the hotel on SiameServices for the extra night at the same reduced rate, using the same name I had booked the other nights with...strangely enough, the reservation request came back refused (??) even though the desk clerk indicated a few moments earlier that there was room in the hotel. Just out of curiosity, I thought I would try booking the room on SiameServices a second time, this time using a different name and different e-mail address.....sure enough, the reservation request came back accepted by the hotel (these requests occurred a few hours apart !), I guess because the name I used the second time was not recognized by the hotel and they thought we were completely new guests, the booking went through. We thought this was a bit underhanded and exploitative of the hotel, however, life is too short to hold a grudge, however, it does warrant mentioning here so others can be made aware. Despite this situation, our room was quite comfortable, so we would contemplate staying here again.

Booked the Royal Suite but was a little disappointed with it. The twin room (for our 17 year old lad) was fine, but the double room has no window. There is no seating in the communal area either. Never ever thought I d moan about light switches!! There's 1428 switches(nearly) and after two nights we still took 4 minutes to find the right one each time. Good points - bathrooms excellent, staff - fantastic, especially the bell-boy whose name escapes me, sorry! 5 minute walk to night market, 15 second walk to nearest massage place. Not a huge walk into the old town either, so all in all a good location. If you come on the overnight train, you must leave your bags in reception till 1400ish before check in. All in all, would stay again, but not the Royal Suite

Overall it was a wonderful stay in Raming Lodge,the hotel is very clean and the room is very neat and tidy.The only inperfection is the water pressure is low in the bathroom and the water temperature was inconsistent.We love the Supaya Spa the most for their good services,clean spa and value for money.The location is great too which is very near to the Night Bazaar within waking distance.The food in the restaurant is delicious too.We would like to say Thank you very much to all the staff at the front desk,concierge,housekeeping,the restaurant and the Spa for making Raming Lodge a beautiful hotel and an unforgetable stay.

Hotel is very good - rooms well appointed, staff helpful and friendly, breakfast outstanding for this level of hotel in Thailand and a really good location. However, some of the neighbours are a bit noisy and keep quite late hours. It's that type of area!The design of the hotel, whilst interesting, doesn't help this.

Efficient, and it works, which is more than can be said for some of the bigger international booking web sites (I m writing this review whilst waiting for Agodo to sort out a problem!)

the hotel located 5 minutes of walking to the night bazar. at the soi of the hotel there is every thing you'll need - such as 7/11, exchange, travel agent, reasturants, shoping etc. Raming lodge was the best of all hotels that we ve stayed in Thailand. We stayed for 3 nights in a deluxe room. the room is new, clean, beautifully, spacious and decorated with wall painting. the bed is super comfortable - we wish to have the same one at home :):):) the bath-room is big and has in it a great shower. it feels like every little detail had been taken care of. the staff of the hotel are very friendly and helpfull. breakfast is the best you can find around and there is a lot of variety to choose from. we met a lot of people that stayed in other guesthouses and came daily to eat there breakfast. the spa on the 6th floor is classic and there's an excellent masseuses - try the promotion package :) of 600B - you won't be sorry!! overall scale - 10/10 !!!!! we satisfied with every Bhat that we spent there :) :) and we definitely stay in Raming Lodge again !!!

This Lodge is the best value you may find in Chiang Mai. The price is cheap. This Lodge is new. Room is big and nicely decorated. You are right in the middle of Chiang Mai, at walking distances (5 to 10 min) to everywhere (Night Bazaar, Old City). Breakfast without being abundant is honest and is from 6:30 am till 10:00 am. Employees are very nice and helpful. In Chiang Mai, I strongly recommend this Lodge if you are not used to only 5 stars hotel. Only bad point is that there is no swimming pool...but you should try rafting...it is gorgeous in Chiang Mai.
