Avoid...avoid....overpriced and looks nothing like the pictures posted online. Very old and tatty. Old, stained towels, ants in bed...when we complained to management and said that we wanted to check out immediately the manager charged us a night's stay for 2 rooms...very poor!!! We3bsite should not be advertising sight unseen...still waiting for 2 night's refund!

This is the 5th time I have travelled to Thailand and I must admit that I have come home feeling somewhat dissappointed with our stay at this hotel. Koh Chang is a beautiful island and the hotel is on one of the best beaches on the island for family s. It's such a pity that after travelling for many many hours we weren't greeted in the typical Thai way. No happy smiles and no drink!! Not even a glass of water! I have discussed this with many people and we think it was because there are so many miserable Germans and Russians at this hotel who treat the staff with no respect that the staffs respect for visitors has gone out the window. The hotel was fine but the atmosphere is rubbish! Breakfast was the worst we have EVER had ! And the towels need to go in the bin! We spent alot of money on this hotel and really really regret it! I would honestly say that this is the first time in 6 years that I wanted to get home. I couldn't stand the miserable faces of the young, untrained staff anymore. We only stayed at the poolside twice in 3 weeks!!! There are lots and lots of beautiful hotels in koh chang... Just DON'T go to VJ. Unless you are Russian or German! We didn't have hot water for 10days!!! Not until we made clear that we had asked over 3 times for them to sort it out did they do something about it. Would definitely go back to Koh Chang.

Have used many times before and had no problems. Apart from this time I was told I had a connecting room at hotel but I never. Nevertheless very good communication and secure site. Would use again next time.

Nice location of hotel. Very nice beach in front of hotel. the hotel was old-fashioned. The rooms were ok but the swimming pool was lousy together with the sunchairs. Breakfastbuffet was not so good. But the nearby restaurants like Pilots Bar and Lagoon were very good and the restaurants at Kae ba Beach as well. Visit Pilots Bar at the beach at Klong Prao - good location, great and cheap food.

V.J. Hotel & Health Spa var bättre än vad jag hade väntat. Hotellrummen är helt ok, ganska ljusa och fräscha, korridorerna utanför rummen är väl i och för sig inte för roliga. Poolen är stor och fin men som vanligt på många hotell i Thailand så finns inte tillräckligt med solstolar. Frukosten var ok, dock ingen kock som gör omelett eller steker ägg till dig efter begäran. Jag tyckte stranden nedanför hotellet var lite stenigt och inte så lång om man vill ta en promenad på morgonen. Det var däremot kul att det var gångavstånd från hotellet till Kai Bee Beach, där det fanns många olika restauranger att välja äta på. Det kanske tog mellan 5-10 minuter att gå.

Stället är rätt slitet och vi förväntade oss mer med tanke på prisklassen i Thailand mätt. Handdukar och stolsdynor var slitna och rummen luktade mögel. Den obligatoriska julmiddagen var dyr för ett riktigt dåligt innehåll. Stranden och poolen var ok. Vi lär inte komma tillbaka.

A very run down hotel, there are a lot of waterdamage in some of the rooms. The aarea around the pool, does not get cleaned, the umbrellas are disgusted. The food and staff are great,there are a par of good restrants not so far from the hotel.But not a hotel to stay in with power falire, the hotels on each side have their own power in time off trouble. The beach vas full af things from a resent storm, but got cleaner for every day.

VJ is at the very end of the main klong prao beach, not the greatest part of the beach but it offers lovely sunsets, the swimming pool is very nice, loads of sun beds and if you go in off season there is likely to be only a few others staying. (off season = 4 days of sun and one day of cloudy rain in my experience, i ve been to koh chang travelling many times over the last 8 years and my experience is the same every time, yeah it may hammer it down with rain every now and then, but prolonged rain for days on end is very very rare) the room we had was good, big bed, huge shower/toilet area and loads of space for the missus to hang clothes etc. room was made daily as you would expect, breakfast is minimal but not a problem, over all a good hotel for the price but i think if i were to stay on klong prao again i would choose somewhere else. nothing wrong with the place though just would giver another place a try.

We really enjoyed staying in V.J. Hotel and the staff was excellent with all their help. Breakfast was ok, nothing special but all ingredients were available. Pool was nice located next to beach. Hotel room was large, aircon cool enough and a spacious bathroom with hot/cold water. Nothing to complain except the noise from the corridor. Could be improved.

We have stayed in this hotel before and thoroughly recommend it. This time we stayed for 3 weeks. All the staff are very obliging and cheerful. The reception, the waiters, maids, and the ladies in the spa. Although breakfast was okay the food in the restaurant at night and lunchtime was excellent and good value for money.

Very nice quiet hotel with good service and nice staff! The wiew from pool, hotel, restaurant and beach its exellent! Its like a paradise then you see the sun going down. Good breakfast and many choice of food in the restaurant. Free internet in the lobby. The village is quiet some place and its high life some place.

Great hotel. Great service and cleaning. The pool is nice and the hotel is right at the beach. Great breakfast (buffet) and very good WiFi in most rooms (not free but fair price) The hotel staff speaks very good english so i dont understand the comments from other guests but then again they are writing in Swedish so perhaps their english isnt so good. Only negative issue is the BBQ at the hotel the portions are smaller than those of other hotels/restaurants in the area but then again, so is the price.

I still think you should respond more quickly to reservations. The hotels is open 24 hours for booking and so should Res24 or SiameServices

This is a very lovely hotel. Nice rooms, clean and comfortable beds. We had a room on the first floor, close to the pool area and the beach. Very pleasant and conveniant. Our children enjoyed the breakfast buffe with a lot of different food to choose between. Pancakes, omelettes, toast, marmelade, fruit and much more. Hotell staff were nice and helpful. I warmly recomend this hotel if you want to have a relaxed and comfortable stay at Koh Chang.

The hotel is not bad only complains were the floor was dusty when I checked in, like it was not cleaned when for a long time after the last person checked out. There was no power generator at this hotel unlike the hotels beside it. On the last night of stay there was a power failure until the next day noon it was not back. Bring a touch light if you want to stay there. Other than that it was ok considering the price I paid.

Small hotel with a very small beach. Nice restaurant. Cleaning could be better and the bathrooms could really be refreshened. Hole in the wall/roof in the shower and loose plates on the floor. Had room close to the kitchen which was not very nice. Lot of disturbances late in the evening and early in the morning.

The hotel was very nice with a friendly staff. The location was good and not so crowded. The beach was in front of the hotel and this was great! The rooms were comfortable and clean. The breakfast was a little bit poor and we missed a variety of bread or rolls. We have stayed 2 weeks with our 2 children in this hotel and we have had a great time! If you step out of the hotel you can take a taxi to another beach or shops/bars etc. There are also enough restaurants in the neigbourhood, where you can eat good food for less money. We can recommend this hotel to other people!

Booked in for 4 nights over New Year months in advance but our 3 rooms not available on first night. Sent to VJ2 further up the bay - brand new, good rooms and great pool but way off the beach and no eating facilities. Not too pleased but manager worked hard to make amends - fetched us back for free evening meal and gave us great rooms when we finally did arrive for the last 3 days. Superb location right on the beach, good food, excellent rooms and especially bathrooms. Great value for money and the compulsory New Year dinner was very reasonable through SiameServices anyway. It might have been more booked privately. Also booked day on boat snorkelling etc from reception area for 6 people. Day before, one couple pulled out - money back at once, no problem. Stayed at White Sand Beach last time but this was less crowded without being isolated - there was still a main street area you could walk to if needed. Would definitely stay again - idyllic and good value.

I agree with the other people opinion about this hotel. Indeed very nice service. Solutions of any problems (broken toilet etc) was quick and efficent. Actually there is no need to search additional restaurants for dinner, because in hotel restaurant dinner is served straight on the beach for reasonable price (same as otherwhere). Because of location of the hotel motorbike renting is strongly necessary. The best place if you compare price and conditions.

Lovely hotel, somewhat spoiled by the building works to the right of the hotel...started early in the morning but stopped during hot part of the day.Staff helpful, food good...both Thai and some pasta /BBQ / steak options all reasonable prices. Good bar just along the beach does free fire show daily. OK diving nearby were great for booking speedboat trip to snorkel at one of the nearby islands.Massages and spa treatments competative prices and good. Internet access available but not for short stay as you have to pay in advance min. 100Bht, local internet shops cheaper and easy.
