We stayed in the deluxe beach hut, which was very good size and adequate, although the shower did not have hot water. The hotel has all the facilities that you may want, but need to spend more effort on making them nice for the customers. The customer service in the hotel can also be significantly improved as well as breakfasts can be. The location of the hotel is perfect, especially for families with small children (as the sea is very calm) and for people who like nice quiet holiday away from it all . I was very disappointed with not having option to opt out of the formal dinner on New Year’s Eve, which proved to be disgraceful rip off. The resort is not a four star hotel; however very likeable once you get used to it. We would visit the resort again, however not for its facilities or service, but for its location.

I was the on low season and that was a standard phrase, we don't have that, low season . After few days more guest came and the bought more food and it got easier to get food from the menu. The personnel was friendly and the tried to make our stay as pleasant as possible. Suggesting barbecue and roundtrips. The rooms was low quality but sheep.

We were so happy to be in this resort, the staff is very nice, they speak English quite well, the view is awesome, the swimming pool is so beautiful, it is very quiet there, we took the cheapest room and were surprised as it was very good, very clean. Well if I go again to Koh Lanta, I will definitely go back to this resort.

this resort is situated in a very good view between two beaches. Beautiful location and pleasent weather. But after 9.00 pm their was no hotel staff is available and no food is available so it better to take motorbike as you reached the hotel and go to market any time that is three Kilometer away from the resort and seven eleven ( Lifeline of Thailand) is available 24 hours in market and every thing is avilable their.Peaceful island and good place to visit with family.

We had a beautiful stay at Kaw Kwang. The staff is very helpful and nice people.Every afternoon when we came back to the bungalow it was cleaned and smelled very nice. The breakfast is very good, and all the food we ate in the restaurant tasted delicious, no matter if it was thai food or international food. All credit to the chef. We even had friends living in another hotel which ate in our hotel several times. Thank you for a fantastic stay, and a quiet relaxing beach. We had a bungalow in the end of the resort, and hopefully the property in the back will be creared up, because I think there is som junk still remaining after the Tsunami? Maybe the gardener could remove som dry leaves and a car wheel. This was not disturbing, but it would give an even greater experience. The main building could also need a struck of paint. We would certanly live there again.

Vilket underbart hotell vi kom till!!. Vackert hotellrum, över förväntan för oss alla i familjen. Ett stort minus var den dyra maten på hotellet, de lade på både severingsavgift och skatter på mat och dricka när man fick notan. Trevlig personal som var enormt hjälpsam! Mycket svenskar. The resort is nice but our bungalow was pretty isolated on a quite run-down hill. The resort is about 1km far from the nearest town and you need to get a tuk tuk or scooter to get back and forth. The room was too simply decorated and too small. Not good value for money. I would not go back there.

we stayed in Kaw Kwang for 3 days only. we were met at the ferry terminal by hotel staff, that was easy and taken to the resort. its only a five minute drive away from the pier. check in was very easy and we were shown to our rooms straight away. i had an air con bungalow. the room was nice, but unfortunately we had a lot of ants in our room. they didnt seem to bite but got everywhere. the shower was not very powerful at all! the pool is excellent. what i think was most annoying was the incredible amount of flies in the dining area, that landed on your food, im not talking about a few. this is a serious problem here!! There is no bar area and absolutley nothing to do in the evening at this resort, so you have to go out. good for a base. we walked along the beach to ther resorts and ate their at night. we also went back to the pier area for shopping and eating. found a nice swedish bar (in lonely Planet) right at the end of lane to left at pier, good food, nice atomosphere and lovely staff

Eventuellt lite långt att gå till de andra restaurangerna på stranden på kvällen, men underbart att ha hela stranden utanför hotellet för en själv, tillskillnad från de andra hotellen som trängs i andra ändan. underbart läge och nära saladan! Nice hotel with good potential BUT... very, very poorly maintained! The fan room is unwise, see avoided. Unsafe, dirty, almost derelict at the bottom of the property next to garbage left by I do not know who. Basically the picture only shows the beautiful of the hotel. In addition to everything else, the pipes are in plain view, such as septic tanks unconcealed. The staff is nice and pleasant but what they are slow and many to do nothing, bad mood. After one week on site, they still have not noticed the smoking guests and ashtrays never at the table ... is an example that speaks volumes. Furthermore the hotel is located away, although for those who want total peace (and when I say total, total) but for those who want a little excitement there is absolutely nothing to do. No music, no sports, no entertainment. Will never go back to this hotel.

The hotel location was very good. The best beach on Koh Lanta with longground beach and nice smooth sand. The Hotel bungalow was ok. The fan was to loud and the bathrooms were old. The hotel staff were friendly and the food was great and cheap. The breakfast buffe was dissapointing, not alot to choose from and the toast and pancakes were often cold. The internet never worked. The pool was great and the hotel was close to saladan shoppingarea.

We stayed in Cosy Hill bungalows, which was a good value for money. Though, if you can choose, book bungalows starting with number 401,402,403, and 404. They are much better than bungalow 606, for example. Staff was very helpfull and friendly. Traveling and tourism service is much cheaper in a hotel, than on the pier or in the city. The only tip i can suggest: if you want your floor to be cleaned, you need to tell it on reception. I would recomend it for family travelers with kids or for those who are looking for some quite and relaxing place, as there are no big partys around. The locstion is great - just 100 metres from the beach, and the bay from the side of the hotel is not deep so it's a good and safe fun for kids.

Nice bungalow, quiet location, beautiful beach and garden. Good breakfast and delicious Thaifood in the restaurant. Friendly staff. But: the cleanliness in the rooms is poor! Brown-striped toilet, dirty mirror - never cleaned during our stay, all windows are half blind - also the TV-screen. No exchange of linen and foot-towels for the floor (just moved and turned) up to 3 days. Sticky floor and table... Sunbeds are rare.

Good value, great location. At the northern end of Klong Dao beach, not far from Ban Saladan (dining, shopping). Bungalows were nice, the pool and beach just perfect. A peaceful location, still only a short walk to all the bars and restaurants on the beach. Restaurant was ok (if you like spicy food, just tell them, otherwise you'll get the touristy-toned-down version of real Thai food)

the bunglow booked was delux sea view , it had a great sea view but the bunglow was not buy any stretch of the imagination delux !! the site the hotel was set in was nice and peaceful a lovely stretch of beach to stroll along , of an evening not much to do , we got a tut tut in to saladan town 10 min ride pleanty of resturants shops and bars . on the whole Kaw kwang is not bad

This was a return visit after 8 years and we were happy to have come back. Hotel prices in Thailand have been rising rapidly and the resort has become much pricier, but it is still good value. Rooms were clean, the staff is very friendly, and repairs were made quickly when needed (e.g. replacing a broken water heater). There is an excellent travel service on site and free wi-fi in the lobby area. The resort is located on a quiet part of the beach, which we like. It is an easy walk to the restaurants on the other side of the bay and to town. There is also terrific snorkelling off the rocks at the end of the lagoon and a quiet hidden beach on the other side of the point. The restaurant could still use some improvement. Breakfast buffet is barely adequate (cold pancakes for instance and skimpy fruit selection) but the worst problem is the number of flies that interfere with the enjoyment of eating. It's no fun constantly protecting one's food from the swarms. As a result, we never ate any meal other than our included breakfast at the Kaw Kwang restaurant. That complaint aside, we recommend Kaw Kwang as a good place to stay. Allen from Canada

And the swedish are those people who put towels on the sunbeds at 6 o clock in the morning to reserve them for the rest of the day.It is a pity because the resort itself is very very good

The Kaw Kwang Beach Resort on Ko Lanta has the priviledge of being located on one of the best spots of one of the best beaches on the whole of the island. We stayed in one of the Modern Beachfront Bungalows which had great views, and was about 10 metres walk to the beach, which is very gently sloping with very soft grey/white sand. The room was very nice, although the shower in the bathroom looked like it was bodged onto the back as an afterthought. Unfortunately this is where the praise for the hotel ends. The reception staff were always happy and helpful, although you can't find anybody except the security guard after 10pm. The staff in the restaurant and pool area were pretty much useless, I m sure the majority of them had never worked in a hotel before. Service at breakfast was slow and disjointed, and the view most mornings in the restaurant was of the two pool cleaners sat around sending text messages on thier phones. There's also a small water feature between the restaurant seating and the pool which was very dirty and probably harboured countless bredding mosquitoes! The pool however was good, it has a perfect location looking out over the beach, open from 7am to 10pm apparently, but the cleaners were still there at 9am every morning so you had to wait for them to finish. The food was fairly poor compared to the other local restaurants, and breakfast had a particularly poor selection. If you re vegetarian then breakfast will consist of fruit and toast, and there's a rediculous queue for toast some days as it's cooked in a small convection oven type thing which only does 4 slices at a time. My wife tried to order an alternative as every hot option one day included meat, but she was told she couldn't as that was what breakfast was that day and she d have to wait until the next day (which also turned out to be meat)! Try to get there early before the main rush of people if you want any chance of a decent meal. The room we had was very nice, large, and had fridge, tv, aircon etc. It wasn't really modern as described, although it looked like it has been refurbished in places. The whole hotel was a bit tatty around the edges with some parts desperately needing some redecoration, and some attention to detail. There was no safe in the room, and the safety deposit boxes at reception are charged at a daily rate. The reception also provides laundry, tours, car hire etc, most of which are overpriced compared to the surrounding businesses. Overall we did enjoy our time on Ko Lanta, the island is stunning, but the hotel was poor compared to others for the same (or even less) money. I wouldn't recommend this hotel and I wouldn't stay there again. You can get much more for your money a few hundred yards down the beach. It's a shame as the location really is beautiful, if they just spent a bit of time tidying up the place, and improved the service considerably, it would have been great. At least there's plenty of bars, shops, and restaurants a short walk down the beach. To sum up, it's an overpriced 3 star hotel that seems to be struggling to provide the appropriate service. Enjoy Ko Lanta but stay away from Kaw Kwang Beach Resort.

Trevligt ställe, barnvänligt! Bra pool för barnen. Bra boendepriser och god mat. Trevlig personal i restaurangen som alltid var så glada i barnen och lekte och busade med dem. Lugnt och skönt på resorten, saknade dock en bar nere vid stranden, hade varit trevligt att kunna ta en god drink och lyssna på lite musik. Nästan för lugnt på kvällarna... Saknade också solnedgången men det var samtidigt enkelt att promenera längs Klong Dao stranden till andra restauranger längre ner. Billigt att ta sig in till Saladan med tuk tuk. Kommer absolut rekomendera denna resort och vill gärna själv återvända dit någon gång!

We enjoyed our stay at the KAW KWANG BEACH HOTEL very much! Situated at the edge of the beach it was very peaceful and quiet. We also enjoyed the beautiful garden and the big swimming-pool, with lots of space also for the children! The restaurant with Thai and international meals was just what we liked, so the children could eat their favourite meals while we experienced the delicious local food. But most of all, we enjoyed staying there because of the warm and gentle staff, always smiling and playing with our children.

We did not like this hotel. Employees are not welcoming and almost do not speak English. Food at the restaurant is not good. We had cockroach in the bedroom and water of the bathromm was smelling like sewer.

Very quiet place out of busy resorts near to Saladan. It is cca 2 km far away to the middle of Saladan, no problem with tuk tuk (we paid 100 Bt), a little bit inconvenient on foot in that sultry weather. The beach was not what we prefer, the water is shallow so you have walk and walk for swimming. We choose this place also for the local coral cliff but the water is very muddy so the visibility is about 1-2 meter max. We found beautiful places for snorkeling around Koh Lanta by a boat (visibility is about 20 - 30 meter). Resort swimming pool is nice, cleaned every morning but of course much chlorine. We had the superior bungalow near the beach and nearest the swimming pool which was not so good in the morning (about 5 A.M.) when they clean the pool and surroundings. Bungalow was clean not bad but it would need any touch of repair. The breakfast is O.K. but always the same. Mirka & Michal & Tom from Czech Republic.

Koh Lanta is a fabulous holiday destination and deserves more tourism. Kaw Kwang resort, however, is not the best example of hotels here. Initially we opted for budget Cozy Hill and immediately requested an upgrade as the accommodation was poor. The upgrade was better standard but overall the hotel lacked the finese of over resorts. You would not be dissapointed with Kaw Kwang but you may wish you had looked to other resorts on Koh Lanta

The hotel was very nice and in a beautiful setting. When i got there i realized i messed up my reservation and booked it on the wrong day.my friends who were with me also messed up thier reservations. The employees were very nice and did all they could to help us get into a room for a fair price. Although they were pricier than other places on the beach i would recommend this place to anyone. It's more of a family setting so if your single its not the ideal place to be since its the quieter side of the beach.

It wasen´t so good!!! We lived in the modern beach front bungalow. And it was not worth the money. It was a lot of holes int the bathroom so there was a lot of cockroaches in there. So I told the staff to fix it. They tried to whit silicon in some of the hols. not in every one som the cockroaches still come in. So they have to do it again. and i sprayed cockroach spry in the room. And we found 9 dead cockroaches. Not so fun. And it was a lot of sweeds, that wasen´t so fun. It was like a pig party...... I´m from sweden but, i was ashamed of them. PIGS!!!!! And it was far away from every thing.Not so good if you have kids. the only thing that was good was that one man in the staf was so kind that he got up in the middle of the new years night to pick us up at klong nin beach when he was asleep.We where so thank full. Some of the staff was really nice. But some of them diden´t want you to bee there!!!!

What a great time! The staff was friendly and helpful, everything was clean and well cared for, and beach was lovely. We enjoyed some meals at the restaurant and some along the beach - all just delicious. The location is particularly nice. The crowds are much farther down the beach and so if the noice and traffic. All this while still totally convenient to what the beach has to offer. The beach is really lovely and the pool is nice too. We had a great time and look forward to returning. Getting to this beautiful spot does time and planning. 2 ferries and a van ride required some patience on our part but it was worth it. And the return to the Krabi airport was no big deal once we knew what we were in for. Still will do it all again and again!

I don't recommend this resort. Simply because I saw better resorts on Koh Lanta driving around town. The location of Kaw Kwang was inconvenient to get to and from. The staff was not professional and the resort lobby/reception area needs maintenance. It may have to do with the fact that it was low season but I like professionalism and a well-kept resort during my trip regardless of when I decide to travel. The delux room was good quality for the money. My friend stayed in the Standard A/C room and said it was too small.

Friends recommended this hotel to us. The rooms are set in lush gardens and it is a lovely place to spend a few leisurely days. The swimming pool is fantastic - it looks out over the beach - perfect for sipping cocktails. There is a restaurant, however, we preferred walking along the beach each night visiting different restaurants along the way. Staff at Kaw Kwang were friendly and there is a travel agency on the premises.

Beautiful Resort. We stayed in the cheapest Bungalows. It was very good for the price, clean and comfortable. The Beach is very beautiful and good for swimming but only until about 12 o clock. Afternoon starts low-tide. The water goes away very far. Sandy fine beach, very clear water, up to nearly 2m depth. Somewhere i read that there are 3 beaches, which is true, but 2 of them can not use for swimming, because there are only rocks. Behind the resort there was a big construction (maybe a new hotel), but we never heard any disturbing noise. The Pool is directly nearby the beach. It is a very good pool, some part is deep water, some not for children. There is also a jacuzzy. Quiet good place...

Great bungalow village to stay @. Kaw Kwang Beach Resort is especially good for family bookings where children are smaller (0-6 year) if parents want to relax a little bit. This due to the nice beach where water is shallow and no waves. Staff is friendly and rooms are what you can expect for the price paid. No problem during our time here with thefts and that is showing that hotel is doing what they can to protect the customers. Will definetly go back here for more relax time when time allows it. Thanks to the staff the resort made the vacation extra ordinary.

We had a wonderful time. This is the best location on the beach for families and others looking for peace and quiet. You could not ask for a nicer beach - long, clean, gentle or now waves. Snorkeling off this end of the beach really is pretty good. The pool was fantastic - right at the beach, warm and clean. The staff in the restaurant is friendly and attentive. The food is good and fairly priced. Breakfast buffet is a bit heavy and can get monotonous, but is convenient and included in the price. Rooms are 3*, but spacious and clean and have good A/C. Go for one of the beachfront bungalows at the end of the beach, they are the best. Overall, we would love to stay at Kaw Kwang again.

Our room was always clean and the staff was very helpful - we we re treated very well - sometimes like VIP. We were there for New Years eve and had a great time - the celebration was nice, but the scene 2 km further down the beach is where the action really was - fireworks, music and hot air lamps being released by the hundreds. Kaw Kwang is secluded and we liked that for the peace and quiet. The beach is calm and flat - not too much for snorkeling. More waves and better snorkeling towards south end of island. We struggled with the mosquitos in our room and the breakfast buffet needs some improvement. Overall good value and we would return to Lanta just for the scene on the beach during New Years.

Still some contruction around hotel....may be better in a few months time.

Other people my complain about the building work that was going on, but you have to remember this family run resort was destroyed by the tsunami so you have to give them a chance to rebuild. I will be going back.

Both good and bad to follow. We were met by a big nice van at the airport (expensive) and taken to the resort. Rainy season so lots of mud especially since there is construction all around and in the resort itself. Walked into the room and two roaches skittered across the bed. Okay, I ve lived in the tropics before. But the ants were the thing that bugged me the most. Jillions of them. Good stuff- beds new and comfy, staff helpful and attentive, quiet (except for construction noise during the weekdays), and tasty (but somewhat limited menu) food. Good swimming beach during high tide. Sand good. Some other bad stuff. bathroom drains slow (offered to change rooms but all of the drains were slow), didn't clean the bathrooms very well, motorbikes not well maintained (chain broke on one, could have caused an accident), lots of trash on beach which I think is a Koh Lanta problem. Otherwise, this was our first trip to Thailand and we enjoyed ourselves but kind of spendy overall.

Great piece of heaven on earth, we went in low season, it was FANTASTIC,few people on the island,cheap rates and offers everywhere,great welcome and service at Kaw Kwang resort,the staff are students who are still learning but they work hard to please their guests,everyone was so friendly and helpful from the lady who was cleaning the room to the owners...We will be back to that resort for a longer period next time...yeah and we only took 4000 pics on our 10 days trip!

We loved this resort, best place in the world, wery beutiful and peaceful locations, bumpy road to this resort, but they are building a road now. Unfortunate we had 2 BIG poison spiders in our bungalow, but the staff taked care of them. Only one suggestion to this resort, please provide more choices in breakfast buffet and keep the food colder. Overall a wonderful time and nice staff, special to our children!

The hotel is located literally on the beach, which is great. It's the last resort at the end of the beach, so there is really peaceful end quiet there! The pool is perfect, overlooking the beach. The people working there is extremely nice, and I miss them allready. Allthough their english is not perfect, they try to understand anyway. The bungalows are nice and cosy, the bathroom big (but smells a bit). Really good food in the restaurant, but it is cheaper if you eat in the town (Saladan). Overall a very peaceful and charming resort, and I m going back to the same place and same resort next year!!
