Nice and relaxed place. The restaurant is very good - some of the best food we had in Thailand was at Salad Hut. The room is ok. Nothing special, but clean and the balcony is nice. The pool is small, but it is cooled down which is great unlike many other hotels where the temperature is too high. We were a family with 3 small kids and we all enjoyed the stay. Not sure I would recommend it to couples even though its a nice and cosy place.

Die Anlage ist sehr zu empfehlen. Am Strand entlang ist alles zu Fuß erreichbar. Das Salad Beach Restaurant ist das Beste. Super Essen u. super Service. Nur das Meer ist nicht optimal zum Baden. Der nächste Strand im Norden der Insel ist jedoch absolut super und ein Muss. Mit dem Roller ist er in ein paar Minuten erreichbar.

This is an outstanding property with breathtaking views, beautiful friendly staff and a fabulous breakfast. I travel often and with 2 children in tow we found the stay at salad hut to be relaxing and in a great quiet family friendly location. The room is basic but clean and spacious. Beds are comfortable and room had a DVD player and large TV. Balconies have hammocks and hotel has spectacular restraint. Hotel is situated between worlds best massage hut and on a pristine beach. Had the best curry of my life at the restaurant behind the hotel ask for Chris from centre bar (his wife is the cook and omg!!!!)Overall we enjoyed our stay very much and would love to be back there now!!!

one of the biggest downside for us was the shore. when there are tides there are almost no sand to walk on (from 14:00 to late night). only in the morning you can see the white sand which is not that white since there are many shredded corals that makes the sand not so smooth. our baby (2 year old) had a hard time walking on it. the resort itself is very nice, the room we stayed in was their sea villas, which are very big (there are 2 villas one next to the other with almost shared balcony). the family next to us where very loud and unpleasant. we asked to change to the other regular rooms which seemed nicer but smaller - but in the end we decided to leave to a better place on another shore... ofcourse our money was not returned. the resort pool is very small. we wont return there. we prefer a quite atmosphere with a very nice beach any time over that small strip of sand.

There are cheaper bungalows on Haad Salad, though these are probably the best. Slap bang in the middle of the beach these huts are of the luxury variety and the feeling is very much of an upmarket bijoux resort. Excellent facilities in the room, with fridge and large LCD TV, fan or AC (if you want to pay a little extra), large queen size beds with quality bedding and large modern bathrooms with separate shower. The large open bar, restaurant, reception overlooks the beach and the infinity swimming pool and even boasts a pool table and mini lending library. All in all a delightful place to stay, though you are paying for it at nearly £50UK per night. There are much cheaper options available along the beach (as well as one or two more expensive ones), though you will certainly notice the difference!

To fellow travellers, Salad Hut was the perfect place to stay in so many ways. My boyfriend and I had an amazing and fun time together during our stay at Salad Hut. The individual villas were lovely with a day bed and hammock to chill out in over looking the beach. The villas were very clean with a fan /airconditioning. Salad Huts food was truly amazing, the variety was good also as its nice to have a slight change from the traditional thai foods. The ambionce on the deck was really cool all thru out the day and night, to just chill and take in the beautiful scene thats happening on the beach or too play some pool and explore the cocktail menu and have a laugh with the bar staff. Its a quite enough place to completely relax or you can go for a wonder and get amoungst the surrounding reggaee bars and shops. The breakfast is great and the meals are always of a high quality. The only negative I have with Salad Hut are that the beds are very hard (even the kids noticed this year). Of the 5 diffrent hotels me and my girlfriend have stayed at, on our 25 day long holiday, Salad hut were the best. This place is a pearl. Haad salad (the beach) is beautifull, its quiet without being TO quiet. This beach lies a bit away from the other beaches, but its easy to get there both by motorbike, taxi or taxiboat. We had the view to the most beautifull sunset every night from our table on the hotels restaurant. The staff on this hotel is above rating, the service is supreme. As some ppl have said before, the pool is a bit small but for the size of the hotel it has a fine size. The rooms are nice and all (except 2 that have sea view) lays within 20 M of the pool, And within 30M of the sea.

Location on the intimate, relaxed beach of Haad Salad is perfect. We had a beachfront family bungalow located in a lush garden.The room was okay, though quite dark. Also you don´t have much privacy on the veranda, because all the bungalows are in a row without space between them. We were there in July and there were all families with small children, so when you are very much in love you better stay elsewhere :-) The pool is small but lovely en the restaurant part beautiful! Food and drinks not exactly cheap but good quality. The breakfast (and the coffee!)was great. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The(female) manager was the only one I didnt like(she had money written on het forehead and her smile was fake) but that's a minor detail.

Our room was absolutely exquiste - lovely view. The bathroom was so-so but didn't bother us. Salad beach was quite isolated from other areas so we didn't have the chance to see many other places. The breakfasts were yummy with lots of food and the restaurant also served delicious food - although a little pricey. The staff seemed a little tired but we had no overall complaints and enjoyed our stay. The salad hut was also nice because it only had a small number of bungalows so we felt like it was much more homely and personal. The pool was great, although not as big as it looks in the pictures, but the hotel is right on the beach so either way, there's great access.

This is the best place in Kohphangan. Salad Hut is located at the quit salad beach, has excellent accommodations and is very personal. The room was perfect (deluxe A/C) specious, indulging and clean. The people are the friendliest I ve ever met, always servicing with a smile and trying to help and accommodate. The restaurant had very good food, reasonably priced, a large variety and quick. We will defiantly be back to Salad Hut and highly recommend it.

Welch eine Überraschung, wir waren im Paradies gelandet! Salat Hut ist eine sehr schöne, kleine Anlage mit viel ursprünglichem Flair. Sehr sauber, alles Nötige da. Genau das Richtige wenn man keinen großen Trubel will. Der Service war sehr persönlich und immer hilfsbereit. Die Küche!!!! das Beste was wir in Thailand gefunden haben!!!! Riesige Auswahl- auch an europäischen Gerichten (gut wenn man Kinder dabei hat), super lecker und sehr preiswert. Der Pool ist nicht sehr groß aber tip top, wie alles rundherum. Der Strand von Salad Beach ist ruhig da noch nicht all zu viele Hotels dort angesiedelt sind. Bei Ebbe ist schwimmen nicht möglich da der Strand flach abfällt. Schnorcheln ist dann aber möglich und man kann echt tolle Fische beobachten.Badeschuhe wegen der Korallen mitbringen! Alles in allem ist Salat Hut eine Anlage für Leute die keine Exclusivität sondern robuste Gemütlichkeit und Individualität mit einem Tick an Komfort wünschen. Absolut empfehlenswert! Wir kommen wieder! Garantiert!

A fantastic place for a nice relaxing holiday. It has a lovely family atmosphere although couples would enjoy it just as much. We stayed in the Beach Front 2 bedroom bungalows and they were comfortable and clean. The aircon was a must in June!! The food was good, the service friendly and the pool small but clean and essential as the sea was so warm and not very swimmable in the mornings. In the afternoon, the tide was in enough to swim (or rather wade) out to the reef and do a bit of snorkelling. Once you sucked your belly in and swam over the rocks, it did get fairly deep. I was concerned from some of the write-ups that snorkelling was pretty much a write-off during the low tide months but this was not the case in the afternoons. Recommended to all relaxing holiday enthusiats.

The rooms were beautiful. The family rooms even better looking out to the beach. The hotel is situated in quiet surroundings with a private beach it was bliss. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and it was a only a short cab ride to town. Perfect would defintely visit again.

Very nice bungalows ,veryg good food ,and very nice staff. The bad things on this visit on Kho Pangang was that 3 people in our family (6 adults + 2 children) get Dengue-fever,(high fever in 7 days!!)And we saw moore people wich have been infected and felt very bad. The info we get later was that this bad type of mosquitoes are very common on this island. Sorry to say, but this are the strongest memory from this visit.

Very Nice place with really nice bungalows and friendly staff. Lots of suedes though. It seem that everybody travelling from Sweden had a stopover here.. Good food and reasanably priced. On the beach there are a couple places that gives massage. OK! massage is maybe the best. If you need boat-taxi so you can go to other places on the island, you can use Kitts boat-taxi, next to Salad Hut

A very nice place. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is also good. Nice swimming pool. On the other hand: There are many dogs on the beach and at night at the bungalows, at night they are barking all time. It is so noisy that you get no sleep. The bathroom is not the newest one and has no window, so smell is bad.

A beutiful resort and beach, once you are there you don´t want to leave it. 12 lovely bungalows, big rooms and a big veranda overlooking the sea. Intimate friendly atmosphere, staff is very nice. The best restaurant on the beach, so don´t bother to eat anywhere else. We stayed there 8 nights, we were lucky that we had booked in advance, otherwise there would have been very difficult to get a bungalow. We will absolutely come back, the best resort on Had Salat.

the hotel is on a beautiful quiet beach. I loved the resort. The room was also really nice. The food at the restaurant was amazing, everything was delicious and not too expensive. I would definitely go there again and recommend to friends. Only a few issues. The sheets aren't changed unless you ask them to be, when I asked after 2 days to have them changed, the cleaning lady got upset with me. I don't feel that I need to ask it to be changed. They should be changed everyday or every other day at most.The hotel doesn't give you shampoo or body soap like other places. There is just 1 little bar soap that is never changed throughout your stay. There was also something that made me very upset, the older women was standing behind the counter and for about 3 whole minutes was picking her nose, and dumping it on the floor. Even after staring at her, so that she will stop, she stared back and just kept on going. I find it to be disgusting especially since it is also the restaurant. Other than that it is a dream come true.

Salad Hut is absolut one of the best resorts, we ever stayed on in Thailand and, we have been travelling for many years. We travelled with our 3 children and stayed in the family bungalow. It was super and the resort is absolutly perfect! The pool and the beach is perfect and the garden, flowers, palms and nature around is amazing! The staff is helpfull and the restaurant is perfect. If you go to Salad beach, this is the best place to be!

Loved loved loved it. We didn't want to leave. Absolutely lovely,we stayed in a big bungalow no.10 and it's fab with the best sea view you could ever ask for and a very big veranda. Very beautiful around the bar/restaurant/pool with lots of flowers and plants. The staff was 100%,very friendly and helpful. Food perfect and a lot of choices,awful to say this but the Pasta carbonara is to die for and so is all the Thai food.Food also perfect for children. The only negative thing I can think off is the beautiful wooden deck around the pool it is dangerously slippery when wet.This place is perfect if you are after sun,sea and relaxation as this is not the place for shopping or clubbing.Have to say that Jay-Jays have got the best pizza's ever and his Mai-Tai YUMMY.... We are going back next year so thank you for making our holiday perfect.

We were there for 3 nights -Heaven!! but ,it is a pity , i think that the owners are a little bit greedy . The 2 free bottles of water that we get at evrey hotel that we stay at Thailnd were the cheapest kind with aftertaste . The breakfast,in my opinion, is very poor-the American breakfast include : 1 hot drink+ 1 refill, fruit juice , 2 eggs with 2 small pices of bacon , 2 wonderful slices of bread,butter and jam. If you will ask for extra slice of bread , (to eat with the jum)thay will charge you! At the bathroom ,there is only little soap that during our stay almost gone and thay didn't replace. 2 general comment: we stay at bungalow no 1 it was full with mini-ants. During our stay made construction work next to the restaurant ,at area of the owners and it's was a little bit nuisance at breakfast. And yes ! I will be more then glad to be again in this magnificent place with the friendly staff and the delicious Thai food!!!!!

We stayed in this hotels for 8 nights. For this price it is definitely the best accomodation at Haad Salad. It is small, clean and except some crying children and barking dogs during the night and in the morning very quiet. The food is good and the staff is very friendly. Some of them can speak english well. We changed bungalow during our stay. In the first bungalow we had many little flies and a cockroach in the bathroom. The second bungalow (family bungalow) was much nicer and cleaner.

What can I say - this is paradise! It's a great beach and Salad Hut is fantastic value. If it's a bit of peace and quiet you want, then this is the place. The food is exceptional and the hammocks and chilled out seating really make this place. It was great not to wear shoes for 3 days, as the you are expected to remove them when entering the restaurant area - just don't bother within them for the full duration of your stay!

very very very nice, awesome location on one wonderful secluded (but not too much) beach, spacious bungalows, we didn't even need to use the AC, we just used the fan. the staff is fantastic and very kind, very good breakfast and the restaurant is also good. you can find other (as good) restaurants on the beach. not indicated if you mean to party in Haad Rin because it's almost impossible to get there by taxi (you can rent a moped but the roads are steep and it's not a gread idea to ride during the night).

This is paradise!!!! Miles better than what we expected. The bungalow was amazing, bed was massive, a/c good. Pool was good and clean, plenty of sun beds. The beach is the best we have visited!! Everyone on salad beach is friendly, the massages at tuks were the best we had in thailand. The staff (Yai, O and Tit) were friendly and tought us some simple Thai phrases. When staying here it is like you are part of the family at salad hut. The food was the best we had in Thailand, not only was the Thai food good but western food (pasta, sandwiches) was also very, very good. Shall return!!!

This place is a little gem! If you want to relax, then this is the place to come. 10 lovely huts, we were in room 9, with a lovely view & the swimming pool a few steps away. spend 5 excellent days here at Haad Salad, it was a very quiet tranquil bay. Some very lovely resorts along the beach. I visted them all but felt the Salad hut was the one with the friendliest staff, most family friendly. Also it has the best food along that beach. Our bungalow was huge and very very clean, tasteful interior. The best veranda I have ever had, Hammock, table & chairs and two of those triangle cushions and a raised area to chill out on. I would go back there in an instant. The sand on that beach was white & powdery, very rustic and still a squid fishing village. BEAUTIFUL X

This was one of the best places on our Thailand trip. A perfect place to chill out! Beautiful and calm beach with good swimming in the morning. The pool was nice at low tide later during the day. Excellent food and very friendly staff made this place something extra. We definitely want to return some day, and until then we will use our Thai hammock in our Swedish garden and dream us back to Salad Hut.

This was Anna's second stay at Salad Hut and Sue's first. Even though the hotel has been renovated since I was here 2 years ago it still retains its charm with friendly staff and the best food along the beach. The room was spacious and clean and it was really nice to have our own terrace with hammock and Thai mattresses. Unfortunately the beach isn't as nice as it used to be now that there are more people staying at this beach. Couldn't the sandbags be covered up? The resort is very good and we can recommend it to anyone who hasn't been here before.

Wir waren 3 Tage im Salad Hut Resort, und wären gerne länger geblieben, allerdings lies das unser Zeitplan nicht zu. Diese kleine Resort ist ein wahres Paradies, alles sehr liebenswert angereiht, der Garten schön angelegt, und die Bungalows sehr geräumig mit einer grossen Terasse, einige Schritte zum Meer wie auch zum Pool. Das Personal ist sehr freundlich, das Essen im Strandrestaurant das Beste am Haad Salad Beach. Ein Tip, man braucht nur Fan Bungalow zu buchen, bekommt aber dennoch ein A/C Bungalow, das alle Bungalows gleichtwertig ausgestattet sind.

Food is the best we found on our trip to Thailand, we want really recommend this small Resort in a quiet and peaceful place. We had much rain, unusuel for that season, but even on rainy days we can relaxe in front of the bungalow or sit in the restaurant to drink the best coffee on the island.

wonderful place- gorgeous location, peaceful- very nice staff-cant thank them enough for their smiles and appreciation-stylish bungalows with beautiful teak interior-the best food in Thailand & the best coffee !!would def recommend to couples and people who appreciate a chilled out atmosphere, definately not for Full Moon party crowd, more refined and is like a boutique bungalow place.Excellent value for money & will be back for sure !!!!top place !!!!

Very nice place for families, bungalow´s nice, but a little bit dark inside, relaxing area to eat. Fantastic food, very large breakfest, friendly stuff. 4 % service charge for payment with credit card is a little bit to much!

Fantastic place,the staff are so lovely and friendly, the setting is pure paradise...beautiful beach, pool, bungalows, casual and stylish eating area/bar.....very romantic,thye best quality and tastiest food we have come across in Thailand !! we would definately recommend this place. It is the loveliest place where we couldnt have faulted a thing about it.WE look forward to returning again but we endeavour to stay for longer this time.

Absolutley the best! Great relaxing chilled out resort, very frendly staff - food is a dream and the location out of this world - you don't need to take any shoes! Puppy Hanna so cute. Returned to samui for a further week and it now seems like a major city in comparrison. Next time will definiately do Salad Hut for main part of holiday and only a couple of nights on samui. Two daughters (16) both loved it but were ready for a bit more night life after 4 days.

Our ninth time resp. sixth time in Thailand, and both of us agreed that Salad Hut on Kohpangan is one of the best places we have stayed at. The staff is the best, friendly, fun and they all love children, so travelling whit children to Salad Hut is very reccomendable. We also have to mention the waiter Mr O, he is unreplaceable and made us feel very welcome and he is very social and fun to talk to, and made our stay even more pleasant. Our five year old son loved it there, and he felt like home the first day. The bungalows have nice verandas whit hammocks and triangel-madrasses to relax on, inside the bungalows were clean and modern furnished, the pool is very clean and perfect for children to play and swim in. The beach is perfekt for collecting shells or snorkeling in. The food was nice and always fresh and tasty. Our ten days here made all stress from work and homeduties disappear. Thank you all at Salad Hut, and we will be back for sure next time we visit Thailand.

Probably the nicest place I ve ever stayed. So beautiful an peaceful, its a real paradice. Staff are friendly and food is great. The perfect spot if you dont want to stay in the crazy nouise of Had Rin. Only 10 min to Thong Sala and 25 min to Had rin. Quite cheap too, dont get the aircon unless you really need it, the fan does the job. Will stay her again!

We stayed at Salad Hut in early October 2007 (two adults and two kids - 3 and 5 years old). Salad Hut is really a very pleasant resort with good value for the money. Nice rooms, clean pool, nice beach, excellent food and very nice and child friendly staff. The pool is a bit smaller than appears on the web site photos but since the hotel only has 12 rooms/bungalows there is still pleanty of space to swim around in. There are a few other resorts on the same beach,which offers alternative restaurants some convenience store etc, but by and large this is a very relaxed beach away from the crowds. Snorkeling is OK (at high tide) and there are several good dive shops which depart from nearby beaches and make transfers from/to the hotel. Overall, staying at Salad Hut was a very pleasant experience.

This place is BEAUTIFUL! We stayed here for 5 nights on our honeymoon and LOVED it. We wisjed we could have sayed for longer but alas it was fully booked. This is not surprising since the beach is gorgeous, our room was fantastic value and the staff were lovely. The food was delicious and the restaurant had a lovely vibe. We had the best time and would say this is quite possibly the best value place on the whole of the island (and we stayed in quite a few places!) If you are after chilled and laid back with a bit of luxury then this is the place for you!

Salad Hut's 10 lovely bungalows are situated in a lush tropical garden amidst an infinity swimming pool, bamboo, palm trees
and flowers right along the beach. There is only one row, and all our rooms are beachfront or beach- and pool front.
All bungalows have stunning views of beautiful Haad Salad beach from the big wooden veranda. The hot water is solar powered,
and there is a refrigerator for cool drinks in all bungalows. There are TVs in all rooms, with a selection of international news and movie channels for those (hopefully not many) rainy days.
Our 5 family bungalows have two double beds in one room, and our 4 doubles and 1 deluxe has one double bed.

Salad Hut Restaurant and Bar offers a wide choice of home-cooked Thai and Western food. Thai specialties include appetizers such as spring rolls,
stir-fried cashew nuts and Yam spicy salads, Tom Yam (hot and spicy) soup, Tom Ka Gai, Red, Green and Panang curries, and an assortment of fresh seafood.
Breakfast is included in the price and is made to order. On the menu you will find American as well as continental and fruit breakfasts with toast,
cheese, eggs, pancakes and fruit salad. Our full beach bar can wet your thirst with beers, mixed cocktails and Thai whiskeys.

Salad Hut Bungalows is located on Haad Salad beach on the northwest coast of Koh Phangan.
Koh Phangan can easily be reached from Bangkok by your choice of air-conditioned bus, train (to Surat Thani) or plane Koh Samui island) then by express boat.
Overland bus and train routes are best taken overnight and trains offer convenient sleeper service with connections from the train station in Surat Thani to the port and on to Koh Phangan (Thong Sala town).
You will have no problem finding a taxi in Thong Sala to take you to Salad Hut. From Malaysia and the south of Thailand, similar bus, train and plane options are also available.
