Beautiful lokation of Grand Lux.! Nice and clean Cottage in very good condition. Okay beds and good ekstra bed for children. We knew there were many steps from reception to Cottage but still it was hard. Nice pool with excellent staff. Breakfast okay but too crowded and not seats enough in the popular hours . Staff in reception below standard. A big mess by departure because they did not have control about our consumption from the minibar!

Accommodation and facilities:
I booked this hotel in April when the website said nothing about a new section being built, and promised almost every room had sea views. On arrival we were allocated one of the new rooms at the top of the hill, in a dip, looking onto other new rooms. I asked for another room and was told (rather rudely by the Manager lady) that this wasn't possible. The only plus was that the new rooms are very nice. We were given two single beds which was also not requested or specified when booking. We are in our early 40's and relatively fit and still found the hike up the hill in 35+ deg heat challenging. By the time you reach your room you need another swim or a shower. There was constant building and scooter and bulldozer noise from the staff coming and going past our room from early morning to evening. No compensation or even an apology was offered for basically staying in a half complete building site, which would have made all the difference to my review of this resort. I think if I had been made aware of all this at the time of booking, I would not have been so upset when I got there. I found management to be rude and abrupt and this was the only hotel of 5 on this holiday where we were made to feel like were were only there to add to the resorts profits so they could build more accommodation. The location is probably the best of both worlds as Long beach is the best for swimming (15 min walk- you can't swim at the resorts beach at low tide) and it is nice to be able to eat meals etc in town which is 10 mins away walk. If you like nightlife or restaurant options don't stay further away from town than this as you will have to use longtail boats at night. Bayview Resort needs to work on its attitude towards it customers as it currently is very poor. The restaurant and cleaning staff were very sweet but seemed to cower when the manager lady appeared. IF you book here make sure you specify a room with a sea view, and not near the restaurant as there is also building there too.

Bay View Resort

Accommodation and facilities:
The location is quite far away from the center where all the action is. So a nice and quiet location, but there are resorts closer to the town center that offer the same, Bay View was just a bit too far for us. The resort itself is quite streched out as well and on a hill, so if staying here you'll have some climbing and walking to do. The bungalows have a beautiful view over the bay but are a bit dated. They were clean though, but could have done with a floor towel to prevent the whole bathroom from getting wet after a shower, more than just the one grounded electrical outlet (just the one in the room, located in the bathroom) and a bottle opener was not present as well, despite soda bottels in the fridge. But all in all the bungalows were good IMO. We were not very happy with reception though: not very friendly on checking, despite us arriving by private transfer, so no other guests checking in at the same time. On our request we received a one hour later checkout time, but after half an hour we were chased out of the room by the reception manager, even threatening us with an overstay charge. On checkout it became clear she had overlooked the note made on the room schedule for that day. We were also sold tickets by reception for the transfer back to Phi Phi, on our very specific question: is a transfer to our hotel, location, included, we were told: yes, included. On the ferry we were told it was not included though, so we had to sort this out on the spot. So all in all we were reasonably happy with the hotel, but would not return unless others we would prefer would be fully booked. On the other hand, this hotel, like all businesses on Phi Phi, is much more interested in making the sales now than they seem to be in returning guests.

I have never commented on a hotel before, but while this hotel does have great views the front desk staff are terrible and have no intention of helping you. The grounds staff (cleaner, handy men etc... are very nice though)Phi Phi has lots of hotels with nice views so would defiantly not going to stay there again. Try Long Beach is not too far from the town and is the best beach and nicest hotels.

Had deluxe see view and I think if you want something with great see view just few step to the beach without ships and still close to restaurants and shops there is not too much other choices. The restaurant on the beach is also something I haven´t seen in other resorts around. This resort is last still not such far from PhiPhi center. Behind this resort I think it´s already too far from everything.

Bay View is a nice hotel, with good quality of their rooms/bungalow. As the name hints you, the bungas are at the hill, with a view of the bay and of Phi Phi Ley. Very beautiful! We walked in to Tonsai Village and to Loh Dalem bay with the kids, no problems, its not that far. The restaurant is a little bit pricy, but there are other places close by.

This was our third stay at the Bayview, and again we had a wonderful time. We arrived while extensive renovations were taking place to the Bayview villas, so had the pleasant surprise of an upgrade to an Arayaburi room! Thoroughly enjoyed the walk through the lovely garden every day - so beautifully cared for. On one occasion, on the walk to breakfast, we saw a tiny hummingbird bathing in the water gathered in the leaves of a yukka plant! And as always the Bayview staff were lovely - we were greeted every morning by smiles and friendly care. Some highlights - a party to open their new O2 beach club (DJ, fireworks, canapes, dancing girls, best of all a fire show); watching the wildlife from our balcony; boat trips with Tek and Kip from the water taxis. One small gripe - way too many speedboats are entering Phi Phi waters - each visit this becomes worse. It is hard to imagine Phi Phi being able to retain its beauty if this continues! However, we will definitely be back, as there's still plenty to love about Phi Phi. We were very sad to leave the Bayview. Thank you Moi for making our stay so good!

Bay View Resort is perfectly located. Only 5 min walk to the heart of Phi Phi Village but far enough away to be quiet and away from the noisy night club hub. Rooms are getting a little old, but the magnificent views and perfect location make it like a 5 star resort without the extra frills, and of course, the price. Highly recommended.

We had a splendid time at Bay View Resort. The romm was nice and clean, the view from the terrace towards the Bay and to Phi Phi Le was spectacular. A real downturner was the every night noisy disco music, comming from two locations closer to Tonsay Bay. Totally disturbing the peace and harmony of the island. If you want a quiet holiday with silent nights, you need to go further to the east of the island, which is a pitty, since Bay View Resort is basically a nice place to stay.

I ve stayed here twice and my only complaint is actually the reason I stay there is that its far from the main town area. A more regular shuttle to and from the hotel would be a nice feature rather than the 20-30 minute walk to the pier. Currently there is only 1 shuttle and that's for those catching the ferry off the island. As well the internet that was promised did not work during my stay and no effort or concern that the wifi was down was not comforting.

On arriving at Bay View we were told that there had been a booking error and that the first of our 4 nights was not booked. This was explained as an error from the booking company and so this review is written taking that at face value. The manager arranged for accomodation at a resort 200m down the beach for our first night - which was a perfectly decent place; an upgrade for one of our bungalows...and also gave us a free meal with drinks that evening as an apology. On that basis we were pretty satisfied that we d been well looked after and not too unhappy at the mix up. As for Bay View...a great place. The food from the restaurant was great from the Thai to the Western dishes, we never had a meal that wasn't fully enjoyed. The bungalows were big with beautiful views of the bay, and were cleaned every day. Reasonable min-bar prices were cheaper than local rip-off mini-markets. Nice pool with bar, (most drinks had to be fetched from the main restaurant and we felt too guilty to ask). Location of Bay View is perfect. We couldn;t hear any of the late night noise form the bars, but were within 5-10 minutes walk of the action with views to die for. Overall...visit here - very much worthwhile.

Reservation service:
As above - there was a mix up which meant we had to be moved for our first night. Difficult to know if this was an error at the resort or with the service. We were told, (at the resort) that it was the booking companies fault so I guess we lll take their word for it.

Our villa was very nice. The room was cleaned and sheets and towels changed every day, and the cleaners were lovely. Would definately recommend Bay View, but there are a couple of things to consider before booking. The villas are situated on a very steep hillside and the walk back at night was hard work! Also, it is situated right at the end of the beach and might seem a bit out of the way, but overall, we had a very pleasant stay, and Phiphi... is amazing! So beautiful. The best part of our trip to Thailand.

Terrible experience. Worst hotel in Thailand. We called the day before our arrival to pick us up at the pier and they forgot. We waited over an hour on the pier with a 2 years old child. They didn't even apologize about it. We spent three nights and we couldn't sleep until 2.am every night due to a night club on the beach. The management couldn't care less and didn't even tried to stop the music. It is not mentioned on their site that music is going on until 2.am every night. I strongly not recommend this hotel, it is terrible.

Reservation service:
Very disappointed that they recommend this hotel and don't mention there is a night club next to the bungalows. THEY SHOULD REMOVE THIS HOTEL FROM THEIR WEB SITE.

Good location, but no pier for access (people must walk in sea water. Services provided are strictly minimum (be prepared to carry your luggage at transfers). Super dinner place on the beach at night with a good choice in menu and a good service. Far too much noise in the night (festivities with very loud music in the neighbourhood, until passed 3:00 am!) Conclusion: this hotel is isolated from the villa but cannot provide quietness. Pity! More recommended for young people.

Beautiful place, views were amazing from our room. Clean, comfortable. One of the best beaches on the island. This place is unfortunately not for unfit people as the bungalows are set on a gorgeous mountain side there is a bit of a hike if you are staying in a bungalow at the top of the hills. The restaurant food was amazing at this place!!! also this is located on the quieter side of the island, the music at a place about 300m away does how ever go till about 1 am, but this is nothing compare to the other side of the island, where you will get no sleep at all!!!

Great hotel and service - the friendliest thai people I ever met! Easy transfer by longboat from the pier to the hotel. Walking the hill up to the room with a stroller is a bit of a challenge, but the view and location more than makes up for this. Well located at the far end of the bay away from the noisy bars but close enough for when you want to do something outside of the resort.

The hotel is in a bad shape but clean. The relatively high price is only justified in the view of the bay and not in service or comfort. The restaurant is nothing special. We stayed at the hotel during New Years Eve and the compulsory Galla Diner was surely not worth the THB 2,000 they charged per person. Will not stay there again.

This was our second stay at the Bayview, a whole 8 nights, and we enjoyed it even more than the last time. We got into a very pleasant daily routine of a morning session at the little private beach at the resort, lunch at one of the nearby restaurants on the way to town (there's a very cheap good basic food outlet at the Andaman resort), followed by lots of relaxing on our veranda or perhaps by the pool before dinner. We were impressed to see many of the staff still there - a good sign. They were wonderful to us and we felt we became good friends with some of them - a special mention to the water-taxi men, the massage ladies and the restaurant staff. We were very lucky to be there when the annual staff party was on - a full day of team beach sports, then a party on the pavillion above the restaurant. A hotel that does that for their staff has to be good. The location of the hotel is brilliant - far enough out of town to be quiet (well, you could still hear the music from the Carpe Diem bar every night but you got used to that), but close enough to walk to the shops in 10 minutes. And the grounds are gorgeous. We will definitely be back.

At first this hotel was a real disappointment, as it was very far to walk and very steep. Nothing for kids or disabled people. But then we noticed the private beaches, the nice pool, the friendly staff and the great breakfast, so we stayed for a week with our two kids! This hotel had very nice bungalows and it was a cosy location. So in the end it was worth the walk, but do bring mosquito repellent and if you have a problem with walking choose another resort...

Worst of all - you have to check out till 11 AM, altough ferries to Puket/Krabi Raily are 1400-1530. Even if you arrive around 1500 - 1600 by the phuket ferry 1 more hour - 400 bt, more than that - N/A So you are stuck! To summarize - do not go

SALTY WATER FROM THE SHOWER!!! The view is excellent and rooms are ok but not anything special. Every bungalow seems to be same from the outside? Not sure howcome the prices are different? We had the middle price bungalow which was good because we had our own balcony. There was many twin bungalows with twin balconies which would not be nice! The pool area is far away and had salty water and it was dark green! Yak :/ Beach is great with sunbeds although many rocks on the way to the water..be carefull! The area is very steep mountain ...hope you are in good shape! We were going to stay there longer time but we had to move to the PhiPhi Villa resort (next resort) for the same price because SHOWER IS SALT WATER!!!!! You never feel clean :/ Low season prices are too much for this place and you can imagine how high those are on high season!!! TOO MUCH! Restaurant was great and Leam hin beach is the beach in PhiPhi..Close to Tonsai and town but far enough! :) SO go to PhiPhi Villa resort instead which have GREAT poolarea on the beach! :D

Very pleasantly surprised with the hotel, having read mixed reviews about it. The hotel is situated in a great location - short walk to the main town and far enough away for peace and quite at the end of the day. Breakfast was adequate and we ate in the hotel restaraunt twice - very good. We had a Delux Villa which was thankfully detached, some of the rooms were semi-detached so were pleased we had a balcony all to ourselves! The view was lovely and room was clean and spacious. You need to be fit and abled-bodied for this property as it is situated on hillside and pathways to the rooms are steep and winding! We were prepared for the tap water to be sub-standard and it was - but this is an island and all the water has to go through some sort of de-salintaion facility. But it was fine for washing but we used bottle water everytime for brushing teeth. Never had a poorly tummy once. We had a lovely time at bay veiw on koh phi phi and would recommend it to couples and families.

Reservation service:

Don't book the Bay View Resort, I wished, I had read all other comments before... We paid a lot for a single deluxe bungalow, and we got a half of a double bungalow with view to a large tree but not to the bay. It was really terribe, we had no privacy at all. In the room you could hear the neighbor breathe, a very small fence on the balcony gave you privacy. In the same bungalow, just under the balcony there was the hotel's towel stock; from early in the morning till late evening you could participate at the staff's life. We demanded to change to any other room: it was several times agreed and later neglected; after long negotiations we got a single bungalow in the last row, with no bay view either. When we demanded a refund for the deluxe bungalow we paid and for the superior bungalow we obtained, the hotel management refused even to discuss about it. Breakfast was good, and the shuttle services are OK. Btw. this was bungalow B213/214 - in an earlier report there was already a warning of these rooms. I posted some photos on the tripadvisor site. Avoid strictly to accept half a double bungalow, as long as you travel as couple.

Nice location, at the end of the bay but still quite close to the center of Phi Phi (about 10-15 min walk). The middle-rate bungalows are uphill with a good view on the bay. Main beach is ok, although the small hotel beaches further away are nicer and less crowded. Breasfast is ok from the food but not enough employees to handle it - tables are not cleaned up quick enough and refill is slow. Altogether though a nice place for a short stay on the island.

Bay View Resort

Accommodation and facilities:
Pick up from pier was easy. Got longtail boat, but depending on tide could walk along the beach to the resort. Had requested nice quiet room with view as it was a special occasion. Got room B205 and had great view over the bay to Phi Phi Ley. Resturant food first night was horrible, although we put it down to dining to early (6pm) my fish was overcooked and the vegies cold and undercooked. Had lunch twice along with breakfast all 4 days and it was good. Frequent power blackouts and torches not provided. Bring a torch. Massage was great. Movies/Dvd movies play on in room tv.

Reservation service:
As always great.

Accommodation and facilities:
The Bay view resort was quit ok-mostly i like the room and the view from the balcony over the sea.The bathroom water was a bit salty, but not realy a problem. The pool we didnt like-it was shabby to much chlorine. But the location of the hotel was good, not in the big trouble.Breakfast was ok,always rembering that this hotel is just about 40 or 50 dollar per night. The stuff were a little bit strange-some a friendly others not. All in all i could recommend this hotel, because I liked the room and the balcony, all the other time you stayed at the beach or in the restaurant or bars nearby.

Reservation service:
no problem-thanks

Beutifull view, exellent room and balkon, everything perfekt about that. About staff, I had a lot misunderstanding because staff did not understand very good english language. I had some questions about my safebox, i try to explain that I not complain staff or had them under susbision, but I thought I did the problem. Next day I had some question about the pool, which was closed, I asked about it was because some cemical problem, the answer from the man in receotion was: what is your problem today. Very bad attitude. I did not want to make a scene, so I did not go further, I just leave reception. Anyway, I enjoy my stay, very beutifull place, amazing, if I go back phiphi, for sure I will stay bay view resort again. About staff and attitude, well, they do what they can, the ladyis in reception do a really good job, also better english, so one mann will not make me think bad about resort.

Reservation service:
SiameServices booking service is absolutely exelent. I use siameservices before i come thailand and during my stay when i need booking in phuket, and siameservices very helpfull and also personal service. I not feel alone in thailand because of your exelent helpfullness.

The hotel locates on the southern side of PP island, which is good and very close to the beach. Room is clean and view is good. However, when you take shower, the water is salty...if you can bear this, then go and enjoy the beach and sun:)

This hotel is in a wonderful setting. It is at the far end of the beach and is away from any intrusive noise. The bungalows are built on a hill-side. These are adequate, as are the facilities. Be aware that it is reached by long-tail boat normally, and all the bungalows are a hard, hot, and sticky climb from the beach. Anyone with walking difficulties should contact the hotel first. Also the walk between the hotel and the resort is not easy at night (watch the mooring ropes). Especially after too many Chang. Otherwise this location is superb. Enjoy

Accommodation and facilities:
Overall the hotel is quite nice. However, this hotel is not suitable for those elder people because you have to clim a lot in order to reach your room. The tap water is ver salty which means that their filter system is very poor. The advantage is the hotel is located in a very quiet with a natural surroundings. At night, you cal always listen to the cricket bands around you.The rooms is cosy and comfortable. It is quite far from the Phi Phi town too. Around 15 minutes walks.

Reservation service:
Overall is good but I requested for the double-beded room, they gave me the twin-bed room. Very dissapointed.

Accommodation and facilities:
Satisfactory accommodation : the superior rooms are the furthest away (only a short distance but uphill!). Good location: close to shops and restaurants but at the end of the bay, so away from the noise and crowds. Quiet air-con.Nice sea view.Brackish water in bathroom ( as in all other island hotels no doubt).Decent breakfast buffet by island standards.Pool area is quite nice and was quiet during our week. However, the main disappointment is that there is no real beach for swimming at the hotel: hardly any beach at high tide and too many boats anyway; at low tide the water goes out much too far. The next door beach (Long Beach) is a 10-15 minute walk away, but water is too polluted for swimming. The best is to take a 1000bht, 3-hour long-boat ride round some of the beautiful beaches and and spectacular scenery on the island (Monkey Beach for ex)

Reservation service:

absolutely awful place, first off do not bother paying the extra for a grand deliuxe villa no such thing my mum paid 1500 baht per night less and got the same room!!Hotel manageress was a horrid woman no time for her guests and very rude, even to the point where she started to blame my wife for her own mistakes. The rooms were about a 10 minute hill walk from reception, not a pleasant experience in 40 degrees and my poor old mum who is 70 struggled to make it.The swimming pool was no good for swimming too small too shallow and not at all refreshing as the water was too warm! The water in the room both from the shower the toilet and the sink smelled so bad my wife threw up,i understand they recycle sea water which smells like a sewerage plant and has turned my white t shirts my wife washed in it a brown colour.I would consider myself a sound sleeper but the polycarbonate roof in the bathroom made sleep impossible when it rained. The satellite tv was not satellite and only showed thai tv so dont expect premiership football. The breakfast is also truly awful the fruit was not ripe and the cooked stuff tasted like it had been cooked 3 days ago and reheated. Finally i booked this hotels services to pick me up in phuket and take me to their hotel door to door they charged me 4200 baht for 4 people my return journey i booked myself it cost me 2000 baht door to door enough said. The only good thing to say about this hotel the view was very nice and the staff with the exception of the manageress were quite attentive.STAY HERE AND YOU WILL REGRET IT,THE RECEPTION AREA ALWAYS HAD SOMEONE THERE COMPLAINING ABOUT SOMETHING!

We spent a really wonderful week in Bay View Resort. All the bungalows are set out along little paths rising up above the sea. Views from all the rooms are just beautiful and we spent many hours on the balcony reading, relaxing and looking out over the bay and all the long-tail boats coming and going! Very peaceful. Rooms very clean and lovely inside - polished wood, great air con! Staff very friendly and helpful. It is only a short walk into the main town - we found that it was lovely to be able to return to the quiteness of the resort every evening! We would definately return.

Reservation service:
Excellent - no problems.

Absolutely fabulous stay at this resort in room b205 with a fantasic view over the bay, the accommodation was very clean. Not a place to stay for those who tire easily walking up hills to all the bungalows, the resort has thought it through though as there is a resident tuk tuk on site and can drive you to your door. Definately recommend a visit to phi phi ley which you can see from the resort.

Reservation service:
Fast efficient and a pleasure to deal with.

Great resort right at the end of the beach about a 15 min walk to the centre and 5 min walk to some really nice restaurants. Staff is friendly, rooms are clean, great breakfast, we didn’t have lunch or dinner here so we can’t say anything about that…. The only thing we didn’t like was the brown coloured and salty tasting water in the shower.

Very very Bad service, we were not met at the airport (as promised)Cleaning staff Stole 9000 bhat (which were left in the bag on the table) SEA WATER IN THE SHOWER! SALTY WATER in the TAP. By the way the whole place is actually a waste of time since you can not snorkel from the beach - you have to take a boat anyway. for SCUBA - visibility off Phi Phi was poor - 2m! The whole place (Phi Phi) is dirty, with smell of human/food waste! Good views of the cliffs from the distance but on close observation - smells really bad. Definitely will not recommend to anyone to go there.

Good impression on arrival at ton sai pier as staff awaiting with signboard to transport guests via longtail boat.5 min transfer.Location was perfect away from crowded tourist area, just a short 10 min walk to central happenings area.We stay at Grand Deluxe Bungalow (B112) located on the first row of the hill,a little climb uphill.Room was reasonable clean and spacious but beware of ants.Bed and furnitures is rather old,the hotel should review the priced. We got a complimentary assorted fruits platter after 5 min checking in to the room, courtesy from staffs for honeymoongers which we were very pleased. The view was spectacular gorgeous on the balcony unliked those bungalow located on 2nd uphill onwards which the beautiful view was obstructed by the first row bungalows roof and trees. If stay at Grand deluxe request on first row (less climbing/full panaromic seaview).Bathroom water is terrible, salty(mixed with sea water)and yellowish mud water as this is small island without main water pipeline source.Dont expect much on service as staff have difficulty to understand english, best is to approached the manager(mid-size lady),she is rather helpful and even manage to help negotiate longtail taxi boat for us to Long Beach for fish feeding/snorkelling at 100 baht for 2person/per way which fixed flat rate at 160 baht for 2person/per way even to the main pier.We had only 1 problem which we could nt find a hair dryer in the whole room. After ringing the reception they insist the hair dryer was in the drawer which is not, follow by 2nd ring they says in the bathroom which is not there too after much frustration they call back saying the hair dryer was spoilt and send for repairing could nt get it back on time and they says they cant do anything about it.I got totally shocked with their inconsistent replied and action. Then i suggested them to get spare from hsekeeping or non-vacant room and they replied was hotel fully booked/hsekeeping no spare hair dryer, leaving me no option but to speak to thier manager. After 10min wait they send a technician to install brand new hair dryer.Buffet B fast is good with reasonable varieties.Hotel check out policy 11:00am if prefer check out late approached the manager(mid-size lady).Overall the hotel is average but somehow price should be revised given the condition of the bungalows, however i would nt recommend to those who have high expectation and elderly people.I would go back again if price has being revised. On last note i have to disagree with Wan Yaqin comments which says this resort is racialism to Asian given the experience i had for 3 nights stay here as i myself is Asian too.
