Pretty bare bones. The AC worked well in the cement room. The bathroom was always hot and a bit stinky. Very pleasant location towards the far end of Bophut. I found the ocean breeze out here always very pleasant even when Bophut town was still and stifling. The bar/restaurant is a great place to hang out. Thai massage platforms are right here on the beach. It's about a 15 minute walk along the beach to where the town starts. Walking out to the road is pretty far out of the way and not very nice.

Very basic with cold shower which I did not expect but clean and pleasantly surprised as expected worse. Nice private beach and very peaceful. However very scary to get back to after midnight asno lights and down a bumpy alley with barking dogs but very different feel in the day. Staff not as friendly as would like but what you pay for is what you get.

hello .. I booked 4 nights at my arrival ... I have nr bungallow. You get 7 ... of the bungalow was very stuffy and smelled of damp and mufffelig .. After two hours I ve swapped the bungalow and no. 8 can get ... which was just as bad ... a night I have endured ... I ve checked out the next day at the resort and shaddy mae nam beache three really nice day .. spent the two bungallow not let you ...

I booked this place online after recommendation from friend at my gym. When I arrived I paid in full after paying deposit online without seeing room. When I saw the room it was disgusting - mouldy mattress, smelled terribly of damp, heaps of mosquitos in room, air conditioner only working intermittently, only one english channel on tv, only wireless internet in cafe area. Although cheap I would not recommend staying here at all, ever. The owner eventually arrived and gave me back half my money but only after pressure to do so. Not up to any sort of standard and obviously not looked after - I didn't even stay a night and left immediately.

Nice location, just a step from the beach and to other good resturantes and bars. The stuff are very nice and friendly ,but the bungalows are in a very poor condition. We hade to change bungalow after our first night because Of the very bad bed and moldy smell. So we upgraded from fan room to AC room wich was much better but still a moldy smell. We would not recomend this bungalows you can find much better for the same price or even less and thats what we did! Cactus Bungalow is good value for money. I paid a bit more for an air conditioned room and this was worth it as I had some friends staying in a single room with just a fan and the mattresses were just thin bits of foam (not good if you suffer from a bad back!). However, my double room had 1 bed with one of these thin foam mattresses, but the other bed had a much better mattress. The air con worked well but a touch noisy. The staff are very friendly and are willing to help whenever possible. However, I did pay to get some laundry done and when I got it back it was clean but smelt of bonfire smoke! The bar is very good and sells all sorts of Thai and European food. Good value as well...much cheaper than a lot of the resorts for food and drink along Bo Phut beach. All in all, a nice 9 days spent at Cactus Bungalow and would recommend it as a cheaper option.

This place is a value stay with excellent location. I beds are really old and have not been replaced or upgraded for over 10 yrs. You are sleeping on the springs and the pads are practically gone. Not only that but the beds also have bed bugs. I had them change my sheets, but it didn't really help as the bugs just crawl through. I stayed 6 nights and got the fan room. I ve gotten up in the middle of the night to shower because of bed bugs crawling in my crouch. Lucky I brought my own sleeping bag, otherwise, I would not be able to sleep. I slept the last 3 nights with my sleeping bag. The bathroom is ok but needs better ventilation. You really have to air it out because the vents are small so poor air circulation, otherwise, bacteria starts growing. I ve had to close the bath door because of mosquitoes in there. Besides that, the location is very good. Staff are friendly.

I stayed here 6 nights and I really enjoyed it. The bungalows are clean and the stuff is very friendly and trying to help you with everything you need. The beach is beautiful and you can walk in about 15 minutes to fisherman village. The restaurant has a good look over the beach, only the coffee could be better. You get good value for your money. I would recommend it.

Really nice bungalows with enough space. Loved the bathroom, only it's smell a little less (sulfuric). The view from the reception / restaurant is gorgeous. Private beach is wonderfull. Very nice people! Near the big street through Ko Samui and near a place where you can rent cheap motorbikes.

Me and my boyfirend travelled around Koh Samui for 3 weeks and chose to stay at Cactus Bungalows as our first stop. Downside: Access to the resort/Bungalows is quite restricted and would be difficult for anyone with limited mobility to stay here. The shower was very hot but warm, (just what you need when it's 35 degrees outside). Positive: We really enjoyed our stay here. We rented the Beach front bungalow and it was exactly what it said on the tin. Less than 10 metres to the beach/ocean, the food was superb and great value for money, the staff were very welcoming and willing to assist with any queries we had. I loved the location, 10 minutes walk along the beach to the Fishermans Village and 10 minutes the other way to Mae Nam. We really enjoyed our stay here and would reccommmend it as a value for money, no frills place to stay. We would stay there again.

les bungalows bien que simples et sans fioritures sont un excellent compromis pour ceux qui ne veulent pas exploser leur budget tout en profitant d un endroit calme et sympatique...Un petit coup de peinture pourrait cependant etre envisage par le proprietaire.La cuisine est excellente et d un cout tout a fait correct. Le persomnnel est chaleureux.Seul point negatif, le prix du taxi venu nous chercher a l aeroport soit 600 bth pour 2 alors qu il etait annonce a 300 bth...Donc ne pas hesiter a demander avant d embarquer

The room was quite ok althoug the beachfront was not really with see view as there was a massage shop in front and restaurant bar on the side. The aircondition was not working at all (blowing only a little of hot air)and we couldnt sleep because of the heat in the room. We could have still liked the room if only there was a fan....the thai people working there were very kind and did a good job.

Nothing fancy, but adequate in all respects. For beach massage don't go to the place closest to the bottom of the steps, but the one right next to it (turn right as you re coming down the steps). The reggae bar a little further up the beach also seemed a little more happening than the Cactus's - though to be honest everything was pretty quiet, it was the low season.

Really dissapointed with this place, the accomdation was disgusting the walls and mattres and pillows we re completly covered in mould it stunk!! Cactus was excellent value for money, location and had a fantastic chilled out atmosphere - much better, in my opinion, than Chaweng Beach which appeared noisy and crowded. The food at Cactus was delicious and value for money and the staff friendly and funny. We had a great holiday there. If I was being really picky, maybe the rooms could do with freshening up but I would still recommend Cactus to everyone.

I ve enjoyed the place, the beach, the food,the massages on the beach ,the smiling faces ,the location , the fisherman's village,the cute small bungallow, lot's of cactuses and flower's to look at , birds to hear in the morning ,you don't hear cars,quiet at night.Perfect, except for the extra firmness of the bed ,but I adapted to that easely with a swim in the morning sea. I recommend highly.

In our opinion this place was well over priced for what you got! the restruant is very expensive and the rooms do not look like they do on the website! the location however, is picture perfect...The mattress is saggy springs and not really comfortable and i would rather suggest Queen's Botique Hotel in Chaweng - a much better deal that includes a great breakfast!

The booking process was very easy and got response within hours. The bungalow was located right on the beach. Very nice and relaxed environment. Thir were nice restaurants nearby. One the Blue Samui just 10 mins walk served lovely very cheap food. One dish usually about 90 Bhat, and the food was great. The staff were helpful at the hotel. the only downfall with the hotel was the walk into the actual bungalow area, at night was very dark and hard to find. Overall nice hotel to stay if you want peace and quiet on Bohput Beach.

Loved it! Really pleased with the great value for money! For $17n.z or 400 thai bht I expected to be sharing a bathroom.But to my delight here I was in a lovely bungelow with my own ensuit and right by the beach! It was great to be so close to the warm sea,as travelling alone I could lock all my belongings in my roon and venture out into the sea. I think it to be a very romantic and quiet place for honeymooners too. So peaceful!Lovely to sit in their cafe overlooking the beach.I had heard Koh Samui would be expensive ,but stoked to find such a resnoble priced resort!

O k. though I had trouble getting info on connecting ferry to flights offered on computor.No one could give me advise,like in some hotels,so gave up in the end and spent a night on the bus,then ferry.Do not want to do that again!

What a great place for a vacation. The bungalow was clean and the A/C worked wonderfully. Home cooking in the restaurant, cold beer at the bar, and al fresco massage right on the beach. I can't imagine a nicer place with a staff to match. Highly recommended!

Perfect. Staff brilliant and so kind. Massage girls out front wonderful. Location not close to Chaweng night life but only 10 minute walk to Fishermans village. If you want to see the island you could hire a motorbike for 200B per day no problem. Room with fan no a/c - small but comfortable, private and situated in beautiful bungalow area only 100m from beach.

A great budget option in Bophut with very friendly and welcoming staff, a good restaurant and plenty of places to lounge on and by the beach. The beachfront bungalow wasn't available for us (there's only one), but we managed to get the second-closest one from the beach (there's a view from the front porch). It was really spacious and just steps away from the sand. In our 4 days at Cactus, we hardly left the property because everything was right there.

This place is great! The staff is the nicest and sweetest we had in Thailand. The bungalows are clean. The place looks exactly like on the pics! The food is very good, massage in front of the place and you can play pool, whenever you want. The beach is right in front and fisherman's village not far away. On the main road is a supermarket, which is opened 24hrs. I can highly recommend this place!

Fantastic and great value for money! My partner and I had the most fun and relaxing holiday at Cactus. The beachfront bungalow was truly deluxe (given the price range) and the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. The massage ladies at Cactus are also lovely and work wonders on tired bodies and minds, and they also do a great manicure and pedicure, all at too cheap prices. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking in this budget range, it's definitely the pick of the cheaper options on the beach, and we re already planning to go back again next year.

I thought this accomodation was great! It is right on the beach and the service was very friendly and helpful. It has hot water, A/C, and towels. No tolietries..it is very basic. It is a great spot if you just want to relax and be on the beach to get away. The staff is very helpful if you want to do day excursions, too. The breakfast was decent and had great prices. I would recommend this place if you are on a budget.

Cactus Bungalow ist eine sehr saubere und schoene kleine Anlage. Der Deluxe Bungalow ist zu empfehlen, auch wenn die Dusche (Wasserdruck) etwas zu wuenschen uebrig laesst. Das Essen ist super, hab nirgens anders so gut gegessen wie dort. Die Naehe zum Fishermans Village ist gut zu Fuss zu erreichen. Gesamtes Personal ist sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit. Kann die Anlage nur weiter empfehlen.
