The bungalow and the premises are lovely! Just internet in the restaurant.food quite expensive as everywhere else on that beach. personal ok but owner tried to sell us tickets for excursions during our check in! Not the right time really...we only wanted to get to the room and get a shower!

We stayed in a fan bungalow that came with a mosquito net for 400baht. Great price. Porch outside had a hammock that we made good use of. Everything worked. Sand on the beach is a little coarse and hurts the feet, but the water was pretty nice. Restaurants in the nearby area are much cheaper and the food is just as good so we didn't really eat at the resort because the food was really overpriced. The bungalow was cheap so we d stay there again, but I wouldn't recommend eating in the restaurant, and the bungalows don't have wifi. Oh and water is expensive! Buying from the marts nearby is like a tenth the cost. Fishermans village is more of a 20min then 10min walk so we only went once but it was fun.

Very nice place, enjoyed our time there, always disappointed not to have wi-fi in our room but it works well in the restaurant and when sat right on the beach who really wants the internet anyway! they have dogs which let it down for us. Plus food rather pricey for us backpackers. Nice bungalows though, cosey atmosphere rather than larger resorts without being too personal. cleaned regularly and restaurant directly onto beach. Bike rented worked adequately for entire stay.

Nice bungalows clean basic and modern. However would never stay or reccomend it to anyone due to the thai people at the place. The woman at reception who we ordered a taxi with for the next morn at 430 clearly didn't book it even though she took 500 baht off us. Leaving us waiting half an hour and having to deal with drunken thai men sat in reception/restaurant who would not help us. One man got very aggressive who was in charge of property too and shouted in my face we were scared he was going to hit me! Needless to say that what is a nice place does not contain nice people and provided us with quite a scary ordeal at 430 in the morning! The restaurant is also v standard food completely overpriced.

The first expression that hit us when we entered the bungalow was an sign, stating what we aren´t allowed to do. Personally i don´t like these type of signs since the make me feel unwelcome. One of the things stated in this rule sign was that we was not allowed to bring any food or drinks into the area and that if we should drink or eat we should eat from the resturant. But if we should have been eating and drinking from the resturant we would have been broke after just one week, since the prices was way too high, normally we walked 100m and bought everything at thai prices instead which usually was less than one third of the price in the resturant. Sometimes we ate in the resturant though, food is ok, but their ice cream had seen better days - i guessed that it had been frozen several times after power outage, but one would could whish that they keep eyes on stuff like this and don´t charge as if it would be the best icecream in the world. Staff was friendly and the overall experience was very positive.

we stayed at free house bungalows 5 nights.all i can say it was not a pleasant stay.lets start with the rooms.we have booked one connected family bungalow.first of all the roof from the bungalow is made of cheap aluminium.all the time there have been falling down fruits from the trees on the rooftop of our bungalow which created a serious noise and made it difficult to relax and sleep. there no mosquito nets on the windows,so you will share the bungalow with all kind of mosquitos. the rooms is very small and made with cheapest materials.there is no space to store your cloth or lugguage.no TV and no fridge.the blanket was paper thin.they clean the room and change the towels only every 2 days which is unacceptable because of the high humidity the towels are always wet. most of the staff is very lazy and unfriendly.the beach restaurant is way overpriced but the food was ok.however you can find better restaurants on the beach or in bophut village.one small bottle water for example cost 40baht which is ridiculous.the beach is really nice and quite, perfect for an relaxing family holiday.oh and the small road or i should call it better dirt track which leads to the free house bungalos is terrible with huge holes and no lights.all in all i would definnetly not stay there again.there are much better options on bophut beach.you can get a bungalow with fridge, Air con, TV for 850baht/night and facilities include a swimming pool as well.

The bungalow (wood cottage)was not that what we expected... a lot of moskitos, spiders were in the bungalow, because they are open...We could not relaxe in the bungalow and I think for 800 THB is too much for such a bungalow! Food in free house bungalow was excelllent but I think that is not cheap to stay when you compare it to other locations in Ko Phangan or the west of Ko Samui... The service and the people at free house bungalow were very friendly.. Beach was ok and also the location but I would not recommend to stay there..

We enjoyed staying at the Free House: the beach is very nice, the area is quiet, the restaurant is quite good, and the rooms are very clean. We just got a fan room, and that was fine for us. The room was small (just enough to walk around the bed), but it's nice to have a safe in the room (no charge), plus the shower worked well and had hot water -- something one can't count on. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at the Free House again.

We just loved it! We booked for two weeks more,so we stayed a total of three weeks. Good for both familys, adults and backpackers. Good prices,good food with avarey of dishes, but we strongly recomend Thai food. Very nice, friendly and helpful staff, excellent service, excellent food, perfectly cooked thai dishes! Bungalow didn´t have mosquito shields in the windows, so we used the air condition although would have preferred fan and fresh air. Bungalows look better on the internet than they really are. Hammock on the terrace was not usable for adults. But we liked the unique bathroom. The excellent food and service and the friendly athmosphere made us extend our stay although the room was not so good.

There is no goal taking bungalow closer to the beach as there is restaurant between them and the beach and all the houses are situated next to each other. Bungalow interior was very basic although we booked higher class bungalow, so it was a bit disappointing. Nevertheless it was clean, bedsheets and towels as well, A/C worked very well. Shower flow was a bit too weak. Surrounding is very calm and relaxing, very good intelligent music at the restaurant, food was very tasty and the prices were not the highest in the area. Definitely thumbs up for the restaurant! Staff was OK, but could me more friendly.

We asked for a hut with twin beds, it was more like a huge double as they were pushed together but this was not a problem. The hut was very small, only really room for the bed...however this was not really an inconvenience as me and my friend had packed light so didnt really need too much space. The bathroom was exellent. The hut was cleaned every day, new sheets and towels provided. There was a safe in the hut too which was very convenient. Great value for money! The hut itself was just about 10 metres from the beach, which had designated seating and loungers etc. Couldn't really ask for more! The restaurant/bar area was also really good. The food is reasonably priced, fresh and extremely tasty! Must also give a mention to the staff. We had the most contact with a lady by the name of Tip. She was so helpful and friendly, we had to arrange different travel plans and excersions and she arranged all of this without a moments hesitation and all ran smoothly. All staff smiley and helpful. All in all was an amazing experience. Would recommend this to everyone!

Great place to stay and at a very good price. Kayak and scooters available for rent and the staff were really nice with helping with anything else. A nice walk along the beach to restaurants/bars and shops. The bungalows were charming. Just had some unpleasant smells from the bathroom in the room but occurred after flushing. Recommend not flushing at night. That said, overall, for the price and hospitality, the place is great.

We enjoyed our stay there. The room was small but very clean and provided a large bed, a spacious bathroom and a moskito net. Details like a safe and free water bottles surprised us. The bungalows are very good value for money. We didn't eat at the restaurant or have breakfast. The Fisherman's village is only a 15 min walk away so we ate there.

Freehouse is on bophut beach which is quite nice, sort of chilled out vibe. we stayed in wodden bungalows which only had a fan for air con which got a bit hot. when we arrived we had second thaught about staying but once we settled in it was great. the restraunt was realy good, nice food at a good price, and a wiked location right on the beach. a bit of looking around though and im shure youd find better.

We have in no way to appreciate the free house bungalow to Koh Samui. The reception is unpleasant, price lists(rates) were raised(were brought up) for little of comfort and cleanliness of the bungalow. We stayed at 5 nights and not only once the household(housework) was made. No change of towel(briefcase) either. We reserved a bungalow with big bed and warm water. We had the right(law) of credit note of the warm water that 3 days after our arrival. The manager and the staff Laughed at it while the repair of the shower set only 2 minutes. Then, an advice(council): AVOID Free House Bungalow to Koh Samui.

We were lucky to come right after the rains stopped, but before more tourists came, so all the beach was ours and the sea was very clean. Bungalow was rather simple, just what we expected for such a low price, a good sleeping place with a hot shower and a fan. We were quite nervous about not having an AC at first, but in the end we didnt even use fan much. November temperature was quite comfortable as is. A good restaurant, just like everywhere in Thailand. :) Right outside the Hotel there was a shop where we bought some tours to see the island, very convenient. During the night Bophut beach is really sleepy - all shops and restaurants are closed, but we ve found a nice establishment down the road, owned by an old-school rock n roll musician from Los Angeles. In other words, many helpful and pleasant people all around the place. :) We had a nice stay there.

Cheap compared to the neighbours, but I think you could probably get better value in the village itself. Hot water in the shower was sporadic, and not available in the sink; the room was only cleaned once during my stay (10 days) and the lighting quite dim. That said, I extended twice as it has a very laid back atmosphere and is fine if you are looking after yourself and not expecting hotel service. Let's face it, who's going to sit in there room all day while on holiday? Friends called and were told I had checked out which was annoying. Check out the massage on the beach out front, they were always busy.

Art (manager) is hilarious. He literally cracked us up every time he spoke. The staff is very friendly. The bartender is awesome. A very quiet place to stay which was very nice. Bring bug repellant for nightime. You can easily rent cycles and jeeps. Recommended stay. Close to Fisherman's Village where there are several good restaurants. Highly recommended to rent a jeep or cycle and travel around the island. Pack light as there are several places to wash clothes for a very cheap price (30BAT/kg). The sun is scorchingly hot so make sure to pack suntan lotion. The B52 tastes marvelous from the bar. The Chef salad and coffee are good as well. Pretty much the manager Art makes it a great place to stay.
