Lolita Bungalows is a long time and well established owner-managed beachfront resort of some 30 bungalows set in the center of Maenam's extensive long white beach.
All the bungalows are either built on stilts set in the sand or located on the plush grass lawns just a few meters from the beach. Wake up with the morning sun streaming through the windows and within seconds you can enjoy a refreshing morning swim in the cool blue sea. The restaurant is located directly on the beach, serving Thai cuisine and seafood. The shopping and entertainment venues are just minutes away from the resort.

The Hotel was ok, book one of the front row bungalows, they look a lot better than the wooden ones in the second. the beach isn't very great but quiet and has a nice atmosphere. in the evening there are many possibilities for good dinner at the beach. if a beautiful beach and many activities aren't the most important thing for you, you can have a relaxed holiday there.

Dreadful place- we booked beach view villa for amount of Thb 1700, with air con- and were absolutely shoked with dirty, smelly bamboo hut with worn-out furniture, rumbling air con and rusty fan we got for this money- thanks God it was for 1 night only!!! Reception does not talk any word in English-and besides they all gone sleeping at about 8pm- so we could not order a taxi or buy water from their fridge. We have no choice but to go to 7-11 shop on the main road-for this you have to walk about 5-7 min in complete darkness through packs of barking dogs- not a pleasant evening walk I have to say. I do not know if they have better rooms- at least on the pictures shown something different from what we ve seen. Might be we were unlucky to get THE worst room in the whole place- but I would not recommend it to anybody. One and the only advantage- sea and beach there is really clean and clear- but again, no sun beds, no amrellas. This place is quite close to Lomparaya pier -but with luggage you will need a pick up to the pier anyway.

The bungalow was much worse than on a photos. The room was dirty. There are very poor furniture, smell of dampness, damaged shower with weak water pressure and insects right in the room! The bad was quite small and hard. Ventilator was with hanging mud. No any security. That was our first and last impression! We didnot stay there more one hour. Of course - no any moneyback or apology(((. I will advice to book this hotel nobody.

Unfortunately we were extremely disappointed in this accommodation. It was basic in the extreme with poor lighting, minimal security and virtually no facilities. The bungalows were in desperate need of upgrading and had they not had the beautiful location would, in my opinion, be very difficult to let. Our bedding felt damp, the air conditioning was loud and ineffective and the bathroom was.....interesting! We were booked in for 5 nights and only managed one before finding alternative accommodation and so could not in any way reccomend these bungalows which we booked thinking they would be ideal for the first part of our holiday on Samui.How wrong we were!

The bungalow was okay and clean. Service however non-existent. Nobody to show us to the bungalow in the dark, or help with the luggage. The restaurant has a nice view but the food was a bit of a disappointment: rather bland. Lolita is very creative when it comes to adding up your restaurant bill: she scribbles down unspecified amounts on a slip of paper; when asked to specify, she hastily subtracts 10 or 20 baht off each item so that the prices will match those on the menu. This happened not once, but every time we ate there. The beach is pretty but lacks sun beds.

Went in the rainy season, got a seafront bungalow. On the whole beach there were only two other couples (no kids !!! thanks God). Since I hate crowds I liked it. Very quiet, rural feeling. Bungalow pretty clean, but the aircon was just no use, it didn't provide any coolness and had the sound of a taking off jumbo-jet. On my leaving the managing lady refused to call me a minibus to the aiport, and was insisting on taxi (which turned out to be not an official taxi, but a relative/friend of her driving a pick-up car) so instead of 150 Baht it cost me 500 to get there.

Lolita has the perfectly quiet beach, no other tourists, no vendors, the whole beach is yours alone. And no noise from motor vehicles, as the main road is far away. Like Chaweng used to be 20 years ago... And for those seeking shadow, it has plenty of palm trees very near to the water, with always a slight sea-breeze to cool you down. The bungalows range from 800 to 3500 THB/night, but even the cheapest are always clean and worth the money. And there are many bungalows directly at the beachfront, something you will not find anymore at Chaweng beach. The restaurant has a very nice terrace directly at the beach, the food is inexpensive but still very tasty. If you seek thrilling nightlife, Chaweng with all the bars and clubs is just 12 km away, 20 minutes by scooter. All-in-all, Lolita is the #1 choice for those who want a beachfront bungalow on an almost private and totally quiet beach. I have been there 2 weeks in 2006 and 2 weeks in 2008, and I definitely will come back.

They had no room for us on arrival late in the evening, despite them having our booking in front of them. A genuine mistake so no problem, but then we were asked to pay more money for the larger room she had available. After some arguement she refused to give in - it was late & we were tired so paid, but not at all impressed. Also, I asked the lady about ferries to Koh Phangan & was told everything was full. It was only the morning afterwards at breakfast that I asked again and was told a boat was leaving 200 yards down the beach in 25 minutes! I then had to run with all bags down the beach in the 30 degree heat. Maybe we were just unlucky but I wouldn't go back, even though our room was fine.

We had booked to stay at Lolita's for one night - but stayed for 4 nights after realising what a gem it was. Situated on a quiet beach, the pace is relaxed, the gardens are lush and Lolita and her sisters are warm hosts. Lolita's food is not to be missed - it is the real deal - delicious Thai food, and the freshest of seafood. Mae Nam village is only a short walk away, where you can find street vendors and market stalls. We had a great time there.

Lolita bungalows offer, apart from the clean comfortable beach bungalows, the BEST FOOD cooked by the two sister proprietors. Ask what specials they are cooking each day and forge about the menu ( which is actually very good ) and you will taste some excellent Thai cooking. Their Thai curries are exquisite and they did a fabulous king prawn dish with garlic and pepper that was the best thing I ate on my holiday.

Lolita Bungalows are very simple but an absolute pleasure. If you re looking for 5 star decor - these aren't it - but if you take away the aesthetics and consider that all you really need is a large, comfortable bed, air-conditioning, your own private space - then these are for you at a decent price. Having walked the entirety of the bay, they are also in the best position on it - which is pretty much in the centre with a few beach bars and restaurants close by, plus all the local street amenities too. It is a really tranquil spot where you may only about 10 people within a mile of you (depending on when you go of course), but that shows the peace you can expect. The family staff are always on hand at the cafe serving food and drinks all day. We have now returned twice to this area and wouldn't recommend spending money on anything over and above Lolita as it really is all you need. The ONLY thing for me was that the showers do not have hot, running water. Not that they re bracing cold either and after a hot day on the beach, a hot shower is not necessarily what you want. But for those expecting that - it can be a bit of a jolt to the system! The trick is to dip in the sea and then come in for a shower as then the water is really warm! For my boyfriend - it was the fact that there is no beer fridge, of course! But with the cafe and the local store at the end of the driveway, it really isn't an issue either. Maenam is also a 10 minute distance from Bo Phut, maybe half an hour from the airport and Chaweng and about 45 mins from Lamai. All an easy, doable distance. Location, position and comfort is all great. They re definitely worth they re money.

Nice,quiet place. Very friendly welcome, beautiful clean bungalows (no fridge in the B bungalows, don't know about other types). Good restaurant on the beach.

The bungalow Beachfront was nice - very clean, new and BIG! The beach was wounderful to swim and walk ( nice restaurants at the beach ) The restaurant at the hotel was very expensive and the staff was not very friendly. But the area is more quiet then Chaweng!! Close to the hotel are some supermarkets and you can take a taxi to Chaweng Beach ( cheap ). Koh Samui is very touristic, so it was ok - but we liked Koh Phangan better.

An absolute gem! No luxury but a wonderful setting, if you like it quiet and don´t want music pumping all night. Lolita was the nicest resort we stayed in while in Thailand and it is fantastic when you are travelling with children. We can´t wait to go back! (Restaurant was good too!)

Overall we were satisfied, but absolutely no luxury! I would very much like to have a little refrigerator in the room, just enogh to keep water or a beer. Lolita is ,as someone else mentioned, a little too eager to make you eat there all the time, but the food is OK, so it´s something you can live with. The beach on the other hand is not so good, quite dirty, and there are no sunchairs, if you like these. When we were there, it was very windy, and therefor not nice in the water. I would call it dirty.
