Accommodation and facilities:
Highly recommended if on a budget, Penzy is awesome, ask for a room at the front as rooms at the rear lack sunlight. Only complaint, was expecting tea in my room, it is available but no milk is provided for tea and coffee which is free in the lobby.

Advantages- cheap, close to beach, clean, free DVD rental, super nice owner. Disadvantages- can't sleep because of the ridiculously loud nightclub just across the street, really dark with a cement building within a foot of the window, cramped space, have to walk through a different hotel to get to beach, about 20 minutes walk to center Chaweng. All in all, we would not stay there again.

Not bad, but I would not recommend anyone to stay at a top floor: very hot even with working AC; moreover I found two cockroaches in a bathroom. A little bit noisy at night from a cafe opposite the hotel, but not a big problem. No WiFi signal in our room (top floor). Hosts are very friendly and helpful, nice couple!

This GH is a very nice one but I think that it could have a cable TV system in each room as for the same price I have it in Bangkok Sukhumvit soi 3 where I pay 1000 B / night

I had a great stay at Penzy and highly recommend it to fellow travellers! The room was clean and spacious with a nice big bathroom. The couple who own and run the guesthouse are wonderful and speak fluent english. Penzy can arrange all activities that you may wish to go on as well as taxi/ferry conections to you next destination. Penzy guesthouse is central and within walking distance to the beach.

I based my decision to stay at Penzy Guest House on the unanimously positive reviews posted on this site. I was not disappointed. There are many guest houses in Chaweng. What sets this place apart from the others is the superb service provided by the owners. Penzy and David go above and beyond to ensure their guests enjoy the utmost comfort and quality of stay. I would stay here again if I return to Chaweng and I recommend it without hesitation to anyone else visiting the area.

Penzy is very friendly and service minded. She is always available to help you or to give information. The house is very clean. Every day the room has been cleaned and we received fresh clean towels. Even for the beach we received towels. Penzy is very careful and she wants that their guests have a great time. The location of the guesthouse is near the beach, you just have to walk out the street. Restaurants and pubs are also nearby. So it is a great place to be. When we visit Koy Samui again we will definitely stay in Penzy Guest House.

Good location on a side street just off the beach road. Guests at Penzy are allowed to use the pool and beach amenities at the Seascape Resort a block down the beach road. Penzy and her husband David are superb hosts. The rooms are brand new and beautifully furnished. Excellent modern bathroom, very comfortable mattress, beautiful decor. Superb value for the price. Rooms facing the rear are more quiet. Complete tour desk with discounts available. Excellent English spoken. Highly recommended! It appears that the difference between standard and deluxe rooms is size (extra bed) but the standard rooms are equally beautiful.

Excellent value for money! Very clean, secure, centrally located. The rooms are spacious and well appointed with a nice ensuite as well. The owner is a wonderful lady, very warm and friendly and helpful. She is full of local knowledge and speaks English fluently. I would not hesitate to stay here again if I was in the area.

The right word to describe my experience at the Penzy Guest House is FANTASTIC. The host, Penzy, is friendly, helpful, and trustworthy. I found myself having pleasant conversations with both Penzy and her husband everyday. The rooms are clean (spotless), modern, and well decorated. Complimentary coffee is available at any time. Although the guest house is not directly on the beach, she has a partnership with a resort that is on the beach which can be used by guests of Penzy. I highly recommend this place and will be going back.

Highly recommended. The guesthouse is relatively clean as far as amenities are concerned, as it is new. The highlight, however - as this is a guesthouse (rather than a hotel), the owners Penzy and her husband David were extremely helpful, whether it was in arranging transportation at a discount or sightseeing. If you want excellent, personalized service for a very reasonable rate, I would recommend this place to you.

Penzy made my stay at her family run guesthouse perfect!! She's always there to answer any questions, has family and friends local to the area that I had the pleasure to meet and speaks perfect English as she lived in the US for a while. She seamlessly booked tickets for me to Ang Thong marine park (lots of fun) and travel to Phuket and even transportation to the local post office to mail a package back home. The guest house is on a side street from the main Chaweng road so very convienent to restaurants and the beach (<2 minute walk) but not as noisy or touristy as most other places to stay. From what I saw from walking around Chaweng, unless you want to spend a lot of $$$ for a ocean front room at a cookie cutter resort then Penzy Guest House is the place to book. I d highly recommend it to anyone - singles, couples or families - and will definitely come back when I m in Samui again.

This is a lovely place. During our 1 month vaccation we stayed here for 10 nights altogheter. Although we had booked a standard room we got a deluxe room for the same price. The rooms are very nice and superclean, great location. Pency is really friendly and helpful. She reserved a motorbike for us when she knew that we were coming back, helped us with tickets, trips and tranfer. if we go back to Samui we will for sure stay here again!!

Very clean, owner was extremely friendly, the room was lovely with air con/fridge/hot shower and located literally 30seconds walk from the main strip, and 2 minutes from the beach. The owner (Penzy) was very helpful, we arrived before check in time and she let us store our bags, was very helpful with information regarding the area, and also booked us a boat trip at a discounted price and arranged our transport to the full moon party and back. I would recommend this guesthouse without hesitation and if I ever went back to Samui I would stay there again. Thanks Penzy

We had wonderful time in Penzy Guesthouse; the management was very helpful and they both talked really good English. We had absolutely no problem during our stay in Samui. Rooms were new and very clean. We could also use one of the rooms after checking out, because we had to clean up before our late flight! Excellent service! Penzy was really the place to feel at home in Samui. All main attractions were also close, such as beach, restaurants, night markets and grocery stores. We would highly recommend Penzy Guesthouse even longer staying in Samui! We would like to come again!

Very friendly and helpful English speaking owners, happy to organise any tours and transport for you. Rooms are very clean and nicely furnished. Hard to find but check your email before you go as the owners will send you a contact number to call if you are lost. Owners know all guests so there is no chance of random people venturing into the guest house. Your luggage is safe!

I had a fantastic stay at Penzy. The guest house is in a great location down the quiet end of Chaweng with easy access to the beach, restaraunts and shopping. The rooms were modern, tastefully furnished and always spotless. The owners were fantastic hosts and did not hesitate in sharing their local knowledge. I have no hesitation in recommending this guest house.

The hotel is only new so its very clean. The rooms are cleaned every day. The rooms have satellite TV, a fridge, free bottles of water, a really good shower and are nicely decorated. The hotel is about a 20min walk to the main bars. Ask for a room at the back because you can hear music from a near disco if you are staying at the front. The beach is only across the road.
