The Samui Lagoon Bay is located in the southern part of Chaweng beach with its silvery powder sand and crystal clear blue sea. The center of Chaweng with its shops, restaurants and nightlife is just minutes away. The resort offers Thai style wooden bungalows with a size of 36 square meter which are equipped with air conditioning, mini bar, cable TV, bathroom with hot water and a private terrace overlooking the garden. The pool is located right at the beach under the shade of coconut palms. Right next to the pool is the restaurant which offers Thai and international cuisine.

The room is nice,,the staffs are very friendly and nicer..it is like a live with family..nice beach, I love to see the sun rise ,,,and play the sea at the sun set.. I dislike sea before... after I came here, I seems to be love to play sea. I hpe I will be bring my friends to come here again. Thanks for Samui Lagoon Bay and its boss and staffs.

A very good basic but clean Hotel. Great location for beach although bar facilities for fun a bit lacking. A bit of a long walk into town in the heat and taxis too expensive. Value for room priced correctly; would not pay more, but doesn't deserve paying less. Staff very friendly and supportive

Vi fick ett rum där ngn rökt i veckotal - inte så kul när man reser med bebis. Inte så bra service när vi försökte komma till rätta med problemet. Det värsta var dock att det inte var städat. Låg standard, inte så mysigt att sitta på verandan. Frukosten bristfällig. Poolen helt ok för ett dopp, stranden nedanför är bra och ganska lugn. Bra budgetboende för festande ungdomar. Mindre bra för familjer som kanske spenderar lite tid på rummet.

Hübsches Mittelklasse Hotel mit sehr freundlichen Angestellten ( Englischkenntnisse allerdings mässig gut ). Die Pool Anlage wurde täglich gereinigt - das Hotelrestaurant ist im Vergleich zu den anderen Restaurants an der Bummelmeile Chaweng eine gute Alternative wenn man mal abends nicht raus will. Das Hotel ist auf jeden Fall zu empfehlen wenn man Wert auf Ruhe an schöner Lage legt, wir würden es wieder buchen. Chaweng Beach als solches hingegen ist inzwischen komplett überpowert mit aggressiven Schneidern und dem ganzen rest von Ständen mit aufdringlichen Typen die einem alle 10 Schritte was andrehen wollen was kein Mensch braucht und schlicht denken die Touristen wäre alle NUR Doof ( Preise )...

Based on the quieter south of Chaweng beach, these bungalows were the perfect location for us. The were spacious and quite idylic outside, although a little dated inside. The staff were very friendly and the room was cleaned everyday (although the same bed sheets were used for our duration I think) - all in all, nice.

Not a bad location quiet end of the beach which is great for space but enough activity to watch the world go by. You get what you pay for so the rooms are just under par but the aircon worked ok, matress was very hard. We had the pool view room. The restaurant is poor but who would eat at any hotel anyway. Overall passable if your on a tight budget

We booked for 4 nights and after seeing our superior bungalow i tried to cancel the last night, SiameServices were helpful but resort would not refund. Definately look around before booking, Chaweng Cove Rosetel is nearby & way better & similar price. No Wifi. Although Staff were friendly, pool seemed nice. Quiet end of Chaweng beach, bit of a ride/taxi to the busy end of town.

Euh! So NOT worth the money! The bungalows smelled of mould/mildew and damp/moisture. It was a mosquito paradise as well. The reception staff was very rude and unhelpfull when we wanted to cancel our reservations. They got over 6000THB in deposit, and would not let us stay for more than an hour to get a new accomodation. And we did not get any refound at all. Save your money and an unpleasant stay, and book next door, SeaScape instead

Ruhige Anlage in ansprechender, tropischer Umgebung mit viel Grünpflanzen. Ausreichende Bungalows ohne gr. Komfort, aber alles was man braucht wie: Minibar, Safe, Aircon., warme Dusche, TV. Sehr schöner, ruhiger Strandabschnitt. Ladycharge für alleinreisende Junggesellen, die des Nachts mal einer Thailady den Bungalow zeigen wollen . We stayed at the hotel for the first nights in samui. The doors were very lightweight so, even though nothing happened, we weren't feeling safe and we could hear eveything from the pathway. Also the inroom safe wasn't working and was very old. Wireless was available for a daily fee. The a/c was working well but made also lots of noise. Finally we asked to stay one more day and they moved us to another bungallow that was next to a construction site which made lots of noise from 9am till 6pm and we paid the same price...

Great little hotel/fantastic location. Were concerned because two recent reviews were not very good but found the hotel just great. Location on the beach was perfect. We had an oceanfront bungalow also near the pool. Room was clean as was the pool. Staff were extremely helpful. There is construction next door but this never bothered us at any time. Can't speak highly enough. We believe it is the best value hotel on the best part of Chaweng Beach.

We were disappointed - shower in the room was a disaster (need about 10 minutes to get a little bit wet!), towel service was poor, the beach bar also. The sun-parasols at the beach were old and rusty. Positive: clean beach and water and the air-condition in the bungalow worked very good.

A very nice beachfront hotel. If you re looking for 24 hour partying and drinking, then Samui Lagoon Bay is the wrong choice. Though the location is Chaweng Beach, it's situated at the outskirts of the place in more quiet surroundings. The bungalows are roomy and clean (daily cleaning) and the hotel staff is, as in the rest of Thailand, friendly and helpful. Because of the location at the outskirts of the Samui party district you are within walking distance of all the fun and games Chaweng has to offer, and at the same time with every possibility of spending a quiet day at the beach with the waves and the occasional water scooter being the loudest sound around. All in all a nice place, though a bit pricy. Definitely a visit worth.

Upon arrival our first impression was, that the resort was quite old and needed maintenance. We saw the room we had booked (Bungalow A5) before we paid the remaining sum. Staff were very friendly and helpful. We stayed there for a total of 3½ weeks, snd during that period, the whole resort was renovated. The houses were painted and the garden and pool area were maintained. New furniture were put (partly) into the restaurant, and new shades on the terasse were put up. When we left, the whole resort was looking much nicer, and we gave our appreciation to the management, that acted very efficiently. The daily cleaning was perpect, and we got good and friendly relations with most of the staff during our stay. They are not so fluent in English, but with a bit of patience and bodylanguage it works out. At the end we decided to book another two weeks in february 2010. All in all a pleasant stay. We are looking forward to coming back!

the room is spaceful but the furniture is old, the shower water is running very slow. Our room is next to the constrution site, looks not really nice on the surrounding. We think it was a nice bungalow B4 for the price. Really close to the pool and about 3-5 mins with taxi to the center of chaweng. Pretty quiet and lots of flowers and tropical trees, the bungalowvillage almost feels like the jungle, without mosquitos ofcourse. The only complain is that the personal should learn more english, and the beds are stonehard and the A/C sounds like a V8 engine!!!! My 2 year old daughter know better english.=) I would give the hotell 2,5 stars out of 5. Maybe we comeback Johan and Emma Sweden

Location very good, right on the nicer part of Chaweng Beach. Lush foliage in the hotel grounds which was good for some nice photos. Tables and chairs by the pool needed a bloody good clean, they were the white plastic type but had actually turned black and grey with dirt! Room basic but clean and large. Some maintenance was needed in the room which would have much improved the aesthetics. Cleaned well every day, there is a safe in the room which is necessary as the doors and windows are very weak. That being said we had no security problems (there are two night security staff there). I do not feel it was worth the peak season price but then I guess the same could be said about all hotels over the Xmas/New Year period. I would stay there again but only if it was cheaper. On a personal note, I did not like Chaweng very much. It was like Magalluf, except much longer on a plane from the UK!

This was my third time staying at the Samui Lagoon Bay, the first time being 8 years ago and i m afraid to say that this will be my last as the place has deteriorated, we had three bungalows for 10 nights, the swimming pool was filthy with green slime along the walls, most of the cushions on the deckchairs were ripped with the foam sticking out. The bungalows themselves are spacious but of a very basic standard, the electricity went regularly and several evenings there was no water for a shower. The curtains were threadbare in our room and the curtains in the other bungalows were so light the sun was beaming in, don't expect to be able to use the phone in the rooms. I expect to find insects but no to share my bed with ants!! The staff here couldn't care less and instead of maybe cleaning around the pool area played football on the beach or lounged arounded. I could write more but i think that is enough to turn anyone off staying at the Samui Lagoon Bay which is a pity because it is in a lovely location and most of these problems could be easily fixed.

Great ittle hotel and would recomend this to other travellers. The hotel is in a good spot on the Southern part of Chewang beach, and is in easy reach f lots of bars and restaurants and not far from all of the nigth life of central chewang. The rooms are basic and could do with updating but they have everything you need i.e. TV, Fridge, hot water etc and are clean and that is the important thing. If the rooms were updated then this hotel would probably be a lot more expensive, and as it was it was excellent value for money We had the beach front bungalow (there is only 1) and I would highly recomend this bungalow to anyone. It is right on the beach front and was well worth the extra money. The pool is not massive ut is big enough fro the size of the complex (there is probably only about 24 bungalows in total). The beach is lovely and free sunloungers are provided for hotel guests. The sea is shallow enough for kids to play in but deep enough for swimming and it doesn't go out too much when the tide is out.

Rooms were basic, but clean. Staff were not the most helpful and it was difficult to communicate simple requests. In fact they seemed more interested in straigtening their hair behind the bar, rather than serving the customers (no I am not joking). We soon chose to eat our breakffast else where due the limited choice and quality of food at the hotel.

Wonderful location right on the beach. We had two bungalows A4 and A5 with great ocean and pool view. However we had problems at arrival when we were assigned different bungalows than what we had been promised in the booking. This was corrected though on day two. I do think the bathrooms are in desperat and immediate need of renovation or there will be problems ahead. One of the bungalows we had the first night (A2) had mold between the tiles in the bathroom as well as some mold on the AC. But over all this was a nice place, with friendly staff and great service. Also great location in Chaweng, not too close to the busy parts of the main road. Very good price!

Nice bungalow, shame about the service. The bungalow I stayed in was a very good size, clean and with its own safe. Down sides would be the little overhang roof on the balcony which was unhelpful when it rained, and the single push button lock on the outside door which made me feel insecure. When I arrived I was greeted by a very friendly manager who ended up being too eager and pushy for me to spend my time and money in her resort (kept talking about that evenings BBQ seafood on the beach). The meal I did eat there was not great - soggy cool prawns in the pad thai and only a hint of mango in water in what was meant to be juice. On the second night I had an issue to discuss with the manager but she avoided me and left very poor communications with the security man. The next day she also used staff to tell me nonsense about not being there, and it was the afternoon before I was able to see her. I have never been treated with such disrespect as a guest in a hotel or resort. Also, the manager seems to be the only person able to take responsibility to assist with important issues, since most of the staff did not appear to understand the things I tried to communicate. The manager is very happy to welcome you but I felt the resort was more interested in finding ways to make money than providing helpful service (which in turn would lead to people spending more money). The treatment I received made me feel very awkward and anxious during the remaining time I stayed. There are much more friendly and reasonable bungalows nearby. I found a great place in Kings Garden.

The hotel has a nice setting by the beach, but as it's a bit remote on the south, you would need a taxi to the main area where all the bars/restaurants are (~2km). We stayed on room #C3, and had the unexpected experience of someone coming in our room while we were sleeping (4.30 am) and stealing our bags - we were lucky enough to find them later on by ourselves, dropped off in the hotel gardens, but all money was gone (400euro) - so great security! There was also a mix-up with our transport back to the airport on check-out, as the receptionist could hardly speak any English. Apart from that, nice hotel facilities and friendly staff. Just keep your money in the safe box at all times (even when you are sleeping!)

Nice location at the beach. Nice and spacious bungalows. We paid for one night when booking and on arrival reception tried to make us pay the rest BEFORE showing us the room etc. We had to pay on arrival which is really ridiculous. If we hadn't paid the rest on arrival we would have changed hotel the next day. The doors to the bungalows are terrible! We stayed in a deluxe garden view bungalow and the doors don’t close tightly and can easily be broken into. At the top of the door there was a huge gap which allowed all sorts of small animals in at night. The safe is really old. The reception gives you the combinations and instructions which don’t tell you everything! Sometimes you get a beach towel in your room instead of a shower towel when you should have both, and you constantly have to ask. The pool is tiny, not like the web photo. The restaurant is disgusting with ants crawling over your food and the staff are too young. They sit around with binoculars spying on the girls in the pool or beach. The beach doesn’t have enough umbrellas for all the beds. It is at the bottom of Chaweng so the centre is quite a walk but nice. There is a really good bar/restaurant next door for breakfast! We booked a pickup service with reception to take us to the airport in the morning – It never arrived!

for this price zou can not claim. As we just take the oceanview bungalow we do not know how it is with the bungalows in tha back. It is the 2nd time that we are there and allways for 21 days. The hotel ins nice and people a friendlz the onlz thing is the the staff at the bar is too young and shoud have a basic education have to serve the customer. The TV is almost switched ON and too loud, it is also a pitty that from APRIL 2008 the LIGHTHOUSE BAR on the beach just next to the hotel has opend an in the 3 weeks we had to listen almost 1000 times the same 3 CD's on a volume that does not primt you to read a book or to have a little nap on the beach.

What a disgrace, I booked the hotel over the internet and luckly I only paid for one night so I was able to check out the next day and stay somewhere a little more nice. The Samui lagoon bay is not worth to be acclaimed 3 star and is more like a half star hotel the pool looks nothing like the one on the website the cabins have poor security as they do not even have proper locks on the doors and the bathroom is grotesque. Also it is far out of town and not near much at all.....this hotel was one of the worst that I have stayed at however I highly recommend the baan Chawang beach resort and spa for near the same price it was fantastic right in the middle of everything, we stayed there for the rest of our stay and will come back for sure.

This hotel was recommended to me by a good friend . . . and we must say it was a GREAT VALUE for money !! We stayed in one of the poolside bungalows for 6 nights and everything was simply perfect - nice beach, good location, friendly staff, amenities were simple but functional, rooms are clean and the guests are all friendly too. We will definitely stay at the Lagoon Bay again on our next visit to Samui. Excellent Stay.

I stayed at a beachfront bungalow and it was lovely! Very priceworthy! The beds are huge and the cleaning is perfect. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The pool very clean and my kids loved it. I will definitely come back. Asa from Sweden

Hotel overall is quite comfortable. A bit run down & the shower flow is quite slow. Could do some clean up esp. below the bungalow. Don't be late at check out, fined THB200 for less than an hour late.

I would like to say that Samui Lagoon Bay was a perfect place to spend my first experience of Thailand and would recommend it to anyone. We stayed in Bungalow A2 and found it very clean and spacious. All staff, especially Mi, were exceptionally friendly and made our stay very pleasurable.

Checked in and had checked out again within the hour. We just didnt feel safe. Could not get the safe to work the lock on the door could have been kicked open and the whole of the front of the bungalow was windows. Room was genrally quite grotty so we went back to AKWA which was fantastic!

Hotel is well managed. Room is very nice, clean and comfortable. Staff is very friendly. Location is good, right on the beach. Bophut is quiet town and yet offer everything you need. Also not too far from Chaweng beach. Definitely will come back.

Sorry but it´s not worth the money. The place is old and ruff. We had an oceanview bungalow by the pool and the furnishing was worn out, poor and of low quality. We paid 2200 baht and that didn´t even include breakfast! The staff in the restaurant was more interested in watching the TV than serve the guests. They should be taught english to be able to serve the guests. Unfortunately we can´t recommend this hotel.

The bungalows are somewhat close together but still offer a secluded garden feel. Very clean and spacious accomodation with excellent daily maid service. Nice pool stepping down onto the beach. Varied good quality menu in the terrace restaurant, but it can be somewhat breezy at times. Good value for money.

We, two adults and three kids between 15 and 5, stayed here for a time of 14 days. All in the staff were very friendly, especially at the reception. One of the breakfast-staff was so totally miss-placed!Even when he wrote down our breakfast-orders, he got everything wrong!Every day!The maintenance was good. The Lagoon Bay had securities patrolling all night long, but the locks at the bungalows were ridiculous. Even my 12-year old son could force the door without any problems. Above the main-door was a gap about an inch big,three meters wide! You can guess if the mosquitoes like d it/us!The hotels part of the beach were very nice, and the pool were excellent when the waves were to big for the smallest of our kids. The thai-massage team were very friendly and tryed to do their best every day. The quality of the hotels food was in our opinion very good.This may sounds like we were disappointed, but we weren t!We would love to go back here again! Pia & Sam from Sweden

having viewed the resort on the web we were slightly dissapointed, whilst the sheets and room were very clean, the shower did not work properly, the windows were unclean, the garden was very overgrown and so you could not capture the true picture. however the upside is that the beach was very close and staff very friendly.
