Sehr schöne, ruhige, übersichtliche und grüne Anlage. Das Personal ist unglaublich zuvorkommend, sehr nett und höflich. Wenn es Probleme gibt (defekte Klimaananlage), sind sofort Handwerker da und beheben das Problem. Das Essen im Restaurant ist günstig und vor allem sehr sehr gut. Die Currys sind sehr empfehlenswert! Nightlife - wenn man möchte - ist in 5-10 Minuten Fußweg zu erreichen, in der Anlage bekommt man von lauter Musik o.ä. jedoch nichts mit. Wir hatten einen Strandbungalow (nicht ganz billig) mit fantastischem Meerblick und schattenspendendem Baum. Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder! Vielen Dank an die Reception und alle Mitarbeiter!

We booked a suite facing the sea and the hotel gave us a standard room in the pool. We had to complain a lot to give us the suite that we had paid. The beach is the worst in the area and the hotel is not worth the money. Habiamos reservado una suite frente al mar con pre pago de habitacion y nos dieron una habitacion estandar en la piscina. Despues de reclamar nos dieron la habitacion que habiamos reservado, que son las únicas del hotel que valen la pena. La playa es la peor de zona, muy sucia y llena de piedras. El hotel no vale lo que cuesta. Muy pocos servicios.

We had booked eight nights but we checked out after two. This was mainly due to the foreshore in front of the hotel is totally destroyed after flooding. There were water that was standing still and that smelled at the waterfront hotel, glass and debris has washed up and it was also too far and problematic to go beachroad to the better beach. Besides the problem of beach, the hotel is very nice, with very good pool, cozy accommodation (we had a Superior Garden View), and very friendly staff. The food is good and the breakfast ok. Their spaprices is unfortunately far above all nearby. The hotel is located just outside the main center, so there is a quite long way to walk. When we were there it was dug out a large hole in the strip of beach between the hotel and the better beach, so it was not easy to get to the center that way either. If you want peace and quiet, the hotel is excellent, but for a family that needs to be close to everything, it is unfortunately not good, not right now anyway, when the beach looks like it does. The pictures on the page does not give a fair description of the bungalow, the garden and the pool, it's much nicer!

Room facilities and cleanliness were below our expectations. Service, particularly in the restaurant was very good but the ever present dogs and cats in the open restaurant were a put off. It would have been nice to have some pleasant music in the restaurant, bar and pool area rather than the TV turned to high volume on a local channel and language. Communication in English was a problem at times with some of the staff but not all. The hotel is in an excellent location and has heaps of potential but the needs and expectations of guests needs to be given greater consideration.

We booked in & out on the 28th May 2011! The rooms were like wendy houses and smelt like urine. The bathroom consisted of a toilet and a shower in the same room with no enclosure or separation from the toilet. Also due to the floods that Koh Samui experienced about a month before our arrival, there was stagnant smelly water right in front of the bungalow & the access to the beach/sea was restricted. I would not recommend this resort under any circumstances.

I stayed in the bungalow ROYAL SUITE BEACHFRONT, which was acceptable but got nothing to do with the name. ROYAL SUITE they should not write that. The bungalow was old,the furniture very old, especially when you open drawers, real ugly! The bathroom outside was acceptable, but nothing special.Toilet was clean, shower you had to keep in hand all time, otherwise the stream would dash against the wall opposite side. The bathtub we never used, much too big to put water inside, will take hours. And we dont understand the bathtub anyway, as you are at the beach and no need for this.The old cabinet for clothes smelled real bad, therefore we did not put clothes inside.The cabinet, where the TV stands on, was real terrible , old and moulded.The TV was brandnew and quite big, but who the hell needs a TV when you are at the beach on holidays ?!The bed/matratz was fine. After asking, they put a moskito net up with no problems.The roof from the terrace got holes. Luckily it did not rain due our stay.All in all, the bungalow is not value at all against the money we paid. The breakfast was no good. Always same, no cheese or any other extras. And 2 minutes before 10 oclock, they removed everything. Coffee was bad as well.Dinner or lunch we never tried, also bcs the prizes are quite high in comparison to other restaurants near by. As well the restaurant area is not attractive, to spend your evening there. The location is fine. Only short walk at the street and you are intown Lamai. Or walking at the beach also okay.On the beach left hand side you can eat very good nd cheap at NEW HUT BUNGALOWS. Nice decorated restaurant with lots of relaxed people. The service/ employees at SAND SEA were friendly and okay. If people writing here, that they were unfriendly, I dont agree. If you are friendly, they are friendly....very simple. You can rent motorcycle for 200 Baht/day at the resort. I find that very good prize, never saw that before in Thailand.The SPA we did not try, just saw the prize list and its high. As well the SPA area looked old and not attractive. The beach itself is okay, sand a bit rough, but quite clean. Some palm trees giving good shadow. Not enough beach chairs for all people. And some idiots put their towel at 6 oclock in the morning on the chairs like we are in Spain. I never been in the sea.The beach got high waves all time. And its dirty water most of the time, maybe from the current? The resort got a pool, which was quite nice with clean water.But if you are a beach/water freak like me, LAMAI beach is not the right spot, if you like more shallow water. Its wavy all time and quite dirty/not see through. All in all I cannot recommend that resort. The value against the money is absolutely incorrect. If they would lower down their prizes/night, the place would be more reasonable and okay for some days to stay.

Great location at the north end of Lamai directly at the sea. The main road is in short walking distance but cannot be heard from the bungalows. Lamai center is a short walk away over the beach. The cocktails are slightly more expensive than elsewhere (still cheap, of course) and absolutely fabulous. Motorbike rental at reception is very convenient.

We stayed in Superior bungalow - nothing speciall, just bungalows. The pool was nice, but too much chlorine puted in to it, make your skin feel dry afeter 30 minutes. Bathroom in our bugalow smell badly and bathtube was unusfull and not for children for sure, to low. Location is 500m walk to the center, the beach is nothing speciall in this part of Lamai, due the small rocks, better looks beach closer to the center of Lamai.

This Hotel was really wonderful, we stayed for our Honeymoon in the Beachfront bungalow and the room was huge and right on the beach, it was really nice. The restaurant was great and very good price, the section of Lamai beach where the Hotel is located is really nice and quiet compared to the places further down the beach. The pool is nice as well. The only problem I had was that there was not enough chair around the pool but other than that it was a really nice place to stay.

I stayed at Sand Sea for 10 days and I liked it.It is off the main drag, there are no phones in the rooms and no internet to speak of so it was good to get away from it all. The people there are polite and friendly. The breakfast served was nothig to write home about, so if your not too picky, you can get by on it. the pool is always kept immaculately cleaned. and the grounds are also. I would recommend this place to somone who likes peace and quiet on a beautiful Island.

we stayed at sand sea 18 days.we had a wonderfull time.the weather was great and the royal bungalow straight to the beach was perfect.The swimming pool was being repaired the first week though.But the resort gave us a 50 pct. discount for this period.One of the best swimmingspools at lamai. sand sea is perfect family place. nice and quiet and drawn back from the busy lamai road.But still it only take a few minutes to go there.The resort rates are very good considered what you get.After strawling up and down the beach comparing we came tothe conclusion that couldnt find a better place.Staff is friendly and helpfull. We higly recommend the resort to anyone who wish to stay in lamai beach area.And absolutly no problem with the booking system SiameServices. smooth as silk

Best place I stayed at throughout my entire trip to Thailand. The staff and service was outstanding and every member took time out to introduce themselves. Bungalows have great character to them and the bath tub was good fun!! Although we had to get a short taxi ride to Chaweng for the good night life it was worth the travel as the beach was so much nicer....spa is on the beach and you can charge any treatment to the room...try out the foot scrub! There is also a small local upstairs bar situated near Utopia Hotel that welcomed us all with open arms to join in with a pool competition and free drinks...I highly recommend this place for anyone that is seeking real thai style living, and guaranteed an amazing Samui holiday. It is a very pleasant hotel to stay in. We had two bungalows. the bigger one was fine, the smaller one a bit to small. There was no chair/table or closet to put your stuff in. The sea in front of the hotel was full of stones, but a bit further on it was great for swimming. when we were there it was nice and quiet. WE would definitely come back.

EXCELLENT!!! Very friendly and helpful staff. Great bungalows. About 50 meters walk on the beach to the sandy party of it, as there are some rocks right in front of the resort, but good for snorkelling. Really enjoyed staying there and will definitely come back!

We stayed at the Sunset Cove Resort on Koh Phangan before going to the Sand Sea Resort and coming from there we were a little bit dissapointed. The resort shows it's age at some spots (even our Beachfront Deluxe Bungalow ...). The atmosphere didn't make you feel at home...The staff helped us with everything we wanted, but they weren't very obliging. The food at the restaurant was ok,but in our opinion you can get the same for less money outside the resort. Once during our 11 night stay we got a dirty pillow from the room service. AND VERY IMPORTANT IF YOU WANT TO RENT A MOTORBIKE AT THE RESORT: DON'T DO IT!!! We rented a Motorbike there twice and both times we got an old bike which had defective tires as we realized after a few hundred meters... So we decided to rent from other local providers and never had any problem anymore...seems like the bikes at the Sand Sea don't get looked after very well. If you see the small black lady dog, give her some sausages and she will follow you everywhere and protect your bungalow :-)

Great place to stay, had a beach hut right next to the pool and beach. The food and service was very good. We even stayed 3 extra nights. Only negative was the room was a little dated but for 2500 Baht a night you cant go wrong, well recommended.

4 adults and 1 baby stayed in 2 seperate rooms in May 2008. We had a front bungalow and one of the back rooms. The front bungalow was big enough for 3. The room was neat, tidy and clean. The resort was also very well kept. The restaurant food was GREAT and well priced. The beach was not good for swimming however it looked beautiful. The down side of this resort was the staff. The whole place acted like you asked them to move mountains over the simplist request. Power went out one night (in the rain) and no one informed us or offered us torches etc. Staff only gave us 1 candle (no matches) after asking and were not concered or helpful at how we were going to manage the baby's bottle. Very stressful! We moved to Chewang beach after a few days and this was MUCH improved and a far more beautiful beach. The back rooms are good value for money however a little small. We would not stay at this hotel again, due to the staff, not the resort or the beach itself. Maybe they would be a little more friendly in the peak season with more tips!!

The hotel is situated at Lamai beach. The water is usually unclear (second visit this time) and the waves often high. That is the only negative to say...the staff is lovely! We visited with our 1 year old son...Frans. Everybody wanted to carry him and he made a lot of friends. A special I miss you! to James & Sao from Frans! We stayed at the beach view bungalows, 1660THB. Small but cozy. They will be equipped with TV shorly.

This place is great for people with families and who are looking to just relax and do nothing.. However, if you are looking for a night life, the clubbing etc. is all on the Chaweng beach.

Second time at this resort and it still ranks very highly. Staff are very friendly and go out of there way to provide you with a friendly helpful visit. Location is sensational with the beach just being at your door step. Rooms are basic but practical considering you don't go to a beautiful tropical island to spend time in the room. Facilities at the resort are excellent with all areas well covered. Food is sensational with the restaurant serving the best Phat Thi on the Island. Weekly fresh seafood night makes for an exciting dining experience with a selection of freshly caught seafood displayed and cooked in front of you. Good value accommodation for the person looking to stay somewhere reasonably priced and not wanting to have all the unnecessary add ons that the dearer resorts offer. Bungalows on the sand facing on to the beach amongst a tropical paradise- PERFECTION..

Beautiful pool and a nice quite part of the beach. The breakfast was great and the bungalows actually looking at the ocean are nice. The staff was a bit unfriendly, and the rooms were full of bugs and lizards. All in all a good deal for the price, but I probably won't go back.

we stayed in one of the cheapest rooms which represented very good value for money. My only grumble was the small and out-dated bathroom wasn't too pleasant. Brekfast was well organised and plentiful. The resort is a 1km stroll to the heart of Lamai via the road, or approx 0.5km along the beach. If holidaying on a low budget then this is ideal.

SandSea&Spa is an ok place to stay for a quiet and relaxing holiday. We stayed at a Standard Bungalow(Garden view). Littlebit small but for a good price including breakfast. We were here at the beginning of Low-season with cloudy skies and an occasional thunder-shower. If you like some more luxury, take the more expensive bungalows.....
