Secret Garden is a is located on the White sandy beach of Big Buddha. Secret Garden is a sure bet if you are seeking the perfect getaway from the hectic and stressful lives from which we all strive to escape. With coconut palms to the waters edge and a relaxed, casual atmosphere there is no pressure to do anything except relax and enjoy.
Secret Garden is a small, family-run resort with English management. Although it only has 9 rooms, they all have their own different character. The first thing that you will notice is the freshness of the interiors; everything is light, clean and airy with varnished teak floors, wooden furniture and white bed linen. They all have their own private terrace with tables and chairs and a sea view and none are more than 30 seconds stroll from the beach.

this place was great , all the staff were helpful and polite and friendly , they made me and my wife really welcome , we arrive just as the new owner john had taken over and he was adding his own touches , by the time we left the garden was looking great. I will always pop in to say hello when im back on samui. And i will recommend this resort to anyone back home who ask's where to stay in samui.....oops i fogot to say the food and drinks were 1st class.....thankyou again and i wish you all the success in the future for the hippie chique boutique resort .......hello to the dog.

We enjoyed our stay at Secret Garden. John and Rebecca were very helpful in arranging car hire and a taxi back to the ferry. The bungalow was nice and clean and the food was good. The sand on this part of the beach is a bit grainy and not as nice as other areas but what that means is that the beach is quiet and you don't get hassled to buy stuff every few minutes. The road outside has a few nosiy bars with bar girls, but we hopped in a van most nights down to Fishermans Village for around 50 Bht each.

The owner is English, his wife from HK. They are great. The beach in Bophut is NOT like Lamai or Chaweng but it's quiet. If you like English food the cafe is fine though the hours are limitted. We stayed in the beachfront bungalow which was great. Rent a motorbike for $6 USD a day and shop at Big C to avoid tourist prices. The Italian food nearby is bad, service worse.

My wife and I enjoyed a very pleasant stay. Accommodation was good, staff were friendly and helpful and John and his wife, the owners, were excellent hosts.

Reservation service very efficient. The transfer to and from the airport was fine, there was a little confusion at the airport with the transfer when we arrived, due apparently to a previous passenger changing flights, but a quick phone call to the taxi company and we were picked up a few minutes later, transfer back was fine and prompt.

We were expecting a more subdued area on Big Buddha Beach. The street our resort was on was hectic, but the beach front room we had was like being a world away. For the money, it was very good value. The restaurant made the best coffee we have ever tasted, and the owners, John and Rebecca were quite helpful.

We enjoyed every minute of our stay in Secret Garden, and will probably go back soon. Magnificent coffee, high quality of food, great atmosphere. Lots of restaurants nearby and calm atmosphere inside the secret garden. The restaurant is on the beach front, so a perfect place to bring children and chill out while they play on the beach. The owner John helped us a lot bookinfg ferry to Koh Phagnan, finding maps, recommending restaurants, what to se and do in Samui etc.

If you are thinking about booking at this resort, the beach front bungalow is the only way to go !!! The beach side are nice enough, but darker and smaller. we LOVED THE beach front kept the sliding doors open to the sea view.

ok, but not sure why you don't pay for all the stay before you go. If we hadn't liked the resort, I like that we can cancel, but there was a 1 day penalty. So better to pay for all before you go as the resort charged 3% for credit card useage. Didn't like that.

fabulous place to stay, very clean, well equipped with home comforts, comfy and really well located. Feels like it is a private beach as it is so quiet, and it really is on the beach!! But the minute you step on to the road there is plenty to do, or it is easy to get a cab into Chaweng (300baht). Big Buddha is only about a 15 min walk away, most of which you can do on the beach and the ferry to Ko Phan yang is literally on the doorstep! Rebecca and John are both very friendly and lovely to be around. It was like a home away from home, I couldn't recommend it more.

We stayed in 2 different bungalows during our stay as because of the time of year, we couldn't get one room for the entire stay. Both bungalows were really nice - clean, well appointed and had everything we needed. The restaurant was good, but it was a shame it didn't stay open later. The resort is located on one of the prettier parts of the beach (there's lots of rubbish further down). The owners are very friendly, gave us lots of tips and quickly organised car hire for us. There are plenty of restaurants nearby, but we preferred to get a taxi into Bophut as it was more our scene.

Having explored the island for a few days on moped, we discovered that our resort was by far the perfect place to stay. Five minutes drive from fisherman village, for interesting restaurants amazing bars and quaint shopping, the Secret Garden resort has a beautiful view of the bay, and a beautiful white sandy beach. The resort is small so is great for a quiet getaway, but its also not too far away from the main shopping districts and tourist areas by moped or taxi (£6 to chewang roughly 15mins away). This is great as staying in the main tourist hot spots can be a little bit too commercial day in day out. John and Rebecca who own the resort are lovely. If you have a problem with anything or need to book any excursions they will do it for you and arrange everything. The food is cheaper than fishermans village, and tastes amazing! Our room which was the beachfront bungalow, was the largest on the resort, and the view was to die for, an amazing view with its private terrace and coconut trees. This is a very special resort, and after a long day on an excursion or travelling the island, you feel like you are coming home to your very own little piece of paradise. We strongly reccomend staying here, and would gladly go back again!

Very nice resort directly at the beach. We spent 2 nights in the standard room which is definitely high value for the money you pay. And it is incl. breakfast. The bathroom is huge and the room itself is in a very, very good shape and perfect clean. The restaurant serves excellent food as well. If we come back to Buddah Beach we will definitely stay there again. Can recommend this nice resort to more than 100 %.

I spent a couple of days at Secret Garden and had a great time. Even if the seafront bungalow was occupied I couldn't have been more satisfied. The Bungalows are nice and clean and located at most 20 m to the beach , the restaurant offers everything one expects from a restaurant in Thailand (but also perfect english and american breakfast). The beach is quiet and clean and one of the best you will find on the island. (Perfect for kids by the way, because usually there aren't big waves.) Rebecca, John and the rest of the staff are remarkably friendly and made me feel comfortable. Secret Garden is a cute, clean and friendly little resort which can make you feel like you re staying on a quite little island and not in busy Ko Samui. Well, if you LIKE it busy – it's only 2 minute away from bars and restaurants.

Good location, right on the beach, if you want a little peace & quiet in Koh Samui, although there are plenty of restaurants & bars cloe by should you want variety. I had a fantastic stay at the Secret Garden resort in Koh Samui. It is run by an East Londoner called John and he proved extremely friendly and helpful. There was a group of us staying there and he welcomed us all personally and even remembered our names which was a nice touch. The hotel is so close to the sea that you re practically in it and the rooms had air con and cable TV. This hotel was an all round great place to stay and I can't fault anything really. My husband and I were heading to Thailand for our honeymoon. We were wanting a quiet, romantic beach setting for our first week. The Secret garden was absoluty beautiful. The beach front room was so perfect and with a beautiful view right from your bed. You could lay in bed with the curtains drawn and be awaken by the sun glising off the turquoise waters and white sand. The food was very very good and john the owner is very personalable and really pays attention to the details. It's nice cause there are only 9 rooms, so they are able to give you more personal service. The room had crisp white linens, teak floors, your own private patio and the bathroom/shower was very exotic...We chose the secret garden as it really felt like you were staying on an island, rather than in a tall hotel building with 80 rooms. (you can do that at home?) Its on a great little strip and has lots of convinent shops/liquor/grocery/pharmacy/restaurants close by. The famous Fisherman's village is a short 5 min drive (20 min walk on beach) and has some amazing shops and reaturants!!!! A must do! The water is very calm/smooth. Never any waves except for when the odd boat went by. Some reviews we read before going, said that with airplanes are kinda noisey, being by the airport. It didn't bother us at all. You cant hear any noise from the street or bars. We both enjoyed the secret garden and said that when we come back to thialand (maybe our 5 year anniversary?) we will definalty come and stay here again! **the only one thing that wasn't so good was we did find quite abit of glass and sharp rocks in the water and we both cut our feet? After that we just made sure we went swimming else wear on the island, or wore our water sandles? After our trip though, we found it was like this alot of beaches? What can you do?

Clean,neat and tidy.We had the beach front bungalow with a lovely uninterupted view on to a very nice beach,also view over Ko pan Yang. Bar closes at 10.30 which is a bonus if you want some peace and quiet but breakfast doesn't start until 9am if you are planning early starts! Owner, John and wife are very helpful and always pleasant,ready to give any tourist information you need. Downside was the tacky roadside bars,plenty on offer if this is what you are looking for!!

Well what can I say!! The resort was much more than we expected. John (JJ)and Rebecca are delightful hosts and I have visited many hotels in Thailand and Ko Samui but the location, personal service and attention to detail were fantastic in comparison. I would recommend anybody to this resort who likes clean mid range resort style accommodation. I should also mention the Sea Breeze Restaurant where the food was out of this world. Already booked to go back February 2010 and look forward to it!!!

Lovey place, quiet and understated, took the hassle out of the trip completely. Pick up and drop off service for the airport, breakfast was fab - great coffee and yummy sausages. Samui in Thailand. We are a small beach bungalow operation with 9
accommodations, right on the beachside within a small property. All of
our bungalows are close to the soft sandy beach.

and restaurants. From our beach it is 5 minutes by taxi to Fisherman's
Village, 10 minutes to the airport and 15 minutes from the nightlife in
Chaweng. Secret Garden has its own beachfront café and bar overlooking
the beach, Koh Phangan and the Bronze Big Buddha statue.
ACCOMMODATION
Our bungalows have wooden floors, air conditioning, clean bathrooms and their own terraces with table and chairs where you can sit and relax. They each have cable TV, CD/DVD players, refrigerators, in-room safes, coffee/tea facilities. Because we only have 9 rooms within a small property, all of our bungalows are close to the beach and we also have free Wi-Fi throughout.
Our beach is quiet with calm water and soft sand and never gets very busy. If you are looking for a relaxing holiday on the beach, you will find it here. We are a small, casual beach bungalow property and if you want to laze and do nothing, just enjoy the peace and quiet on the beach, we will leave you alone. If you need any help or advice, we are always on hand and will gladly help you organize tours, hire a car/motorbike, visit a spa or book ferries for you on request.

:: 2 Standard Twin Rooms ::
These air-conditioned rooms have twin beds, tiled floor and a built-in wardrobe to give you plenty of space. The bathrooms are generously large and each room has cable TV and a fridge. They are located next to our parking area, closer to the road than the beach. The Standard twin room is 27 sq. metres in size.

:: 2 Garden Bungalows ::
These traditional Thai style teak bungalows are split-level with a large
wooden verandah and a view of the garden. On the upper level you will
find the double bedroom which is spacious and has a king size bed, and
wardrobe with polished teak floors. The small separate living room has a
sofa, cable TV and a glass door which opens out onto the verandah. The
bathroom is down 5 steps on the ground floor. The Garden bungalow is 32
sq. metres in size.

This room is more modern in style and has a large combined living room and bedroom with a king-size bed, wardrobe, sofa, chairs, cable TV and fridge. You can relax on the terrace and enjoy the sea view. It is ideal for a long holiday or for those who like plenty of space. The Garden Suite is 40 sq. metres in size.

:: 3 Beachside Bungalows ::
These traditional A-frame bungalows are a combination of Thai and contemporary styles and have a queen-size bed, wardrobe, fridge and cable TV. They all have varnished teak floors and the interiors are bright, clean and cosy. Each one has a covered bathroom that is open-air and makes you feel close to nature. There is a sea view from the terrace and they are all only a few metres from the beach. The bungalow is 19 sq. metres in size.

:: Beachfront Bungalow ::
This delightful bungalow is right on the beach. Throw open the sliding
glass doors, step onto the terrace and the beach is 2 metres away. Lie
in bed in the morning and watch the light dancing on the water or be
lulled to sleep by the whispering of the waves at night. The
Balinese-style bathroom features a covered outside shower area with
natural stone walls. This is a lovely beach bungalow which is very
popular with our guests. The Beachfront bungalow is 25 sq. metres in
size.

RESTAURANT & BAR
Beachfront Cafe: Our Beachfront Cafe looks over the beach and has great views of
Koh Phangan. For breakfast we serve Full English, American, vegetarian,
omelettes, croissants, muesli and fresh fruit. And of course freshly
ground coffee. For lunch we offer a selection of sandwiches, pasta,
salads or a hamburger as well as our tasty traditional Thai dishes,
curries and stir-fry. We also serve local fish and large king prawns.
Our beachfront bar overlooks the beach where you can sit on the
terrace and enjoy a beer or nice glass of wine. Or you can choose
something from our extensive cocktail list. We serve proper cocktails
such as Margaritas, Caipirinhas, Mojitos, Chinese Cosmopolitan and of
course our specialist cocktails - a Taste of Asia, Samui Dream and Samui
‘Ti punch.
For your evening meal there are small bars and restaurants within walking distance offering both Thai and European food. Fisherman's Village and Chaweng are 5 and 15 minutes away by taxi. There are many restaurants with a variety of cuisines as well as shops and nightlife.
