Serene Hill Resort & Spa is situated on a hill surrounded by tropical gardens with coconut trees and with wonderful views over the sparkling beaches. The resort offers a family villa made of wood, 18 wooden villas, 3 deluxe rooms and one standard room. All villas are designed to give guests the feeling of being one with nature and therefore are constructed with teak in an exotic Lanna architecture. The spacious and luxurious furnished villas and rooms include air conditioning, hot water, mini bar, private safe.
Spoil yourself with seafood or international cuisine and culinary fusion at the Lamai Jai Dee Restaurant and rejuvenate your body and mind with a spa treatment at the Spa Samui Serene.
The swimming pool and pool bar are open for refreshments and for those who prefer the beach a shuttle service is available.

Accommodation and facilities:
we had booked a transfer from the airport which was perfect. the serene hill is a very nice hotel with very nice stuff and a good breakfast. the way to the room was steep, but really ok. the view from our room was not that good, but you don't spend your time in the room anyway. the pool is nice. the place is quiet and has a beautiful nature. you need a bike to move or take the shuttle to lamai beach. its a good place to stay.
Reservation service:
easy booking. all worked out very well.

Very nice hotel and friendly staff. Only negative was a busy road to cross if walking to shopping and beach. However free of charge transport was offered as alternative. Lamai was nicer than Chewang as little less touristic and noisy but the sand was better in Chewang beach.

We stayed 6 days in February at Serene Hill Resort and it was really wonderfull. We lived in a wooden house - big and with a fantastic view over the city and the sea. The place is withdrawn from Lamai town where there is peace and tranquility. It takes approximately 10-15 minutes to walk to town and beach, or you may be running them free of charge by hotel staff. Hotel staff is fantastic - so helpful and friendly. Cleaning also impeccable. Delicious pool and pool area. We will definitely stay at Serene Hill again if we return to Koh Samui.

Accommodation and facilities:
We spent 4 nights at the Serene Hill resort and spa and we were quite happy with the rooms but severely disappointed, partially because of we got stuff stolen from housekeepers, as it happened many times in the past too with other guests. The bungalows are quite nice, very spacious and all made of wood, with a nice large bathroom. The rooms are really on the hill as you might have read on other reviews. The bungalows have nice views, but do not expect a seaview. If you do get one, it will probably be a very small view of a small portion of sea, but nonetheless it's nice. The location is OK at the most, around 15mn walk to the beach and Lamai center, however they have a shuttle truck that will drive you to Lamai and back to the hotel anytime you want. It's not the most comfortable ride though, and it can get uncomfortable to ask a ride many times a day. I suggest to rent a moped for around 150 to 200 baths a day. Now the bad sides: The breakfast is officially the worst I have ever tasted, and believe me I have tasted many ranges at many different places. The breakfast they give you is what you would expect from a 5$ guesthouse. Which is really disappointing because you pay around 70$ for the bungalow! You only have a choice of eggs and bacon or yogurt with bread or croissant. Oh, sorry, forget the croissant, they don't have any. Why? I guess it's more expensive than 2 cheap slices of white bread. All served with a low quality strawberry jam (the only one they ve got), and with a coffee that taste worse than dishwater. I couldn't even finish my coffee, first time it happened to me! oh and the cold eggs and the 2 mini slices of bacon doesn't help too. Anyway you see the picture. Also the pool, quite nice looking and big actually, but not as clean as you would expect it to be. It seems they are having some problems with their pump, and half of the pool is empty waiting to be cleaned or repaired, which is not happening anywhere near the future. There was a sign written out of order , and we asked what was wrong and they kinda avoided the question and told us we could use the pool no problem. Ah and many tiles on the bottom of the pool are missing, that looks really cheap and run down. They have only one computer for the internet, which is filthy, I mean seriously, I hardly could type on the keyboard because of the amount of dirt on it. It seems it's coming straight from the early nineties, so of course don't expect any speed. And my major disappointment is that they don't have wireless internet! The rooms are nice as I said, but they could ve arranged the trees and vegetation around in a better way, as it is blocking the view of the sea. They should put trees between the bungalows instead, because as of it is now the next bungalow window overlooks straight into our bedroom, which is OK for now considering there is nobody occupying it, but otherwise... There are so many windows and the curtains are white and I feel like at night people from outside could see the shadows inside our room, which is not very great. Finally I read many reviews talking about theft, and well it happened to us too. My girlfriend got some jewelry stolen as well as some cosmetics. In overall, avoid this place!

What a find! The bungalows are huge and are incredible value for money. All teakwood with large covered terrace and funky semi outdoor bathrooms. Ask for room 106 as this directly overlooks the pool. The staff here are incredibly friendly, and always willing to help with anything you need. Good affordable restaurant and a beautiful lagoon style pool. There never seemed more than 5 people staying here and often I had the pool to myself. This place is not on Lamai, but in a quiet location about 10 mins walk from the centre of Lamai, however the resort will drive you into Lamai whenever you want. Only potential bad points are if the place was at full capacity there is only room for around 12 people at the pool - but was never a problem for me. Also Lamai isn't the greatest place in the world, plently of bars and rstaurants, but can be a bit seedy with quite a few too many girly bars etc...

We stayed there for five nighs in one of the traditional Thai-style jouses. The houses were beautiful and spacy, the resort is very nice and situated in a tropical garden. Staff was very friendly. The only thing you could complain about was the breakfast - the variety of things is not too big and - like nearly everywhere - adapted to the needs of the English/ American guests with sausages, scrambled eggs,... But I would stay there again, I was amazed.

My family and I stayed in two wooden villas for four nights in February. Pros: The room was very large and airy. The staff were very nice. Also very accommodating when we requested for the free ride to/from Lamai Beach (make sure you have the hotel phone number as they had forgotten to pick us up once). Pool was very nice and not all shallow so you can play around a bit. Spa was clean and at great price (remember that they automatically add a 10% service charge). Cons: The noise! The hotel is right off of a busy street and you can hear the traffic clearly. We were in the front row, which was right above some construction trucks parking. Even during my spa treatment, which is higher up in the hills, I was still able to hear traffic noise while soaking in the tub outside. Very limited breakfast selections, which was the same everyday. Oh, the room was nice during the day but at night, you have to close up all 10 curtains! They re also white and thin, which will not keep out sunlight, so don't count on sleeping in. Overall: It was a decent place for the price. If you don't mind some street noise then this might work for you. I wouldn't recommend it to a friend though.

The wooden villas were fantastic, quite spacious and clean.I really liked the plants and trees in the bathroom, very exotic. The staff were really friendly and helpful, made us feel very welcome everyday of our stay. Swimming pool is great and has its own bar. We went to the Spa couple of times and that was quite good as well. The hotel is located on the hill above the main road which goes to Lamai. The hotel staff brought us to Lamai every time we needed free of charge. But we walked to Lamai a few times and it only takes 10 min to get there. I would recommend this hotel to everyone and we will definitely return there next time we are in Thailand.

Very nice and peaceful... great if you want to get away from the town. The pool is also very nice. Private villas are great! Staff is also great. Only complaint I had was how they charged for everything… every other hotel we stayed at (during our 3 week trip) gave us bottles of water since the water is not drinkable. They over charge you for it so buy it in town. About a 15 walk to the beach / town… but they will bring you down for free. DON’T take a taxi back unless you like being over charged, the walk isn’t that bad. Also, don’t use them for rides around the island… haggle with the cab drivers. The hotel will try to charge you 2x – 3x more than the cab drivers will… walk out to the street and one will pass every 2 minutes.

Excellent hotel! Located in a tropical garden, on a hill. Peaceful, quiet place, quite away from the crowdy towns and beaches. The hotel has a pool, a pool-bar, spa and a great restaurant with prices between 70-200 baht per dish. We rented a wooden villa and it was worth every penny we paid. Clean, comfortable, giving you feeling of intimacy. If you re lucky, you'll get a sea view. The air-con was effective, beds were wide, bit hard though, bathroom had a roof-window and smelt fresh each day. Hotel provides regular overnight laundry service (we paid 50 baht per kilo). You can rent a motorbike or car via the rec. The pool is open till midnight. The closes tourist attractions are: Grandma & Grandpa (5 mins by bike), 3 waterfalls (20 mins), butterfly garden (40 mins.), cliff (15 mins.). DO GO to Angthong National Park and stay for the night!!!! Serene Hill place is away from the beach, we didn't mind. Beach in Lamai is not the nicest one I ve seen. Last but not least we loved the staff at the hotel, reception was professional and helpful, the chef is a Master, and Zin ( client manager ) was everywhere and took care of every little problem or question we had. We left some books in Polish at the Rec., enjoy :)

The infinity edge pool was amazing! Top level had a spa and the bottom level had submerged stools for the cocktail bar which had a very extensive selection. It was fun to watch the staff try to make our obscure choices too. Our room was beautiful! Solid teak as is the entire resort, lends a feeling of luxury. The bungalows are very spacious and the aircon was good. Only bad point was the bed. It was rock hard! Very uncomfortable to sleep on and the pillows were way too thick. We asked for thinner pillows twice and were finally given one. Staff were pleasant, especially Jolli the owner/manager. Breakfast was very average, and when we ordered dinner once, some items were lost in translation. It was a 10 minute walk from the beach (once we figured out the way home) and the staff are happy to shuttle you to and from the beach free of charge anytime. Once the staff are up to speed with the food particularly, we would stay there again because the resort was very peaceful and attractive.

The hotel and the rooms are beautiful. We had an ocean view villa and at night time we could watch the fireworks display from our balcony. The staff is very friendly and is always ready to help. We got free breakfast each morning, and the breakfast selection was excellent. We had dinner twice at the restaurant and the prices were very reasonable. We had accidently broken a glass during dinner and then as we were checking out, management informed us that we had to pay for the glass-100bhat. This we found a little strange. The staff will drive you into town and the beach and pick you up as well, free of charge. The beach is only a 5 minute walk away. We didn't use the spa at the hotel, but got massages by the beach for 150-200bhat.

What a memorable experience. You can have all the hotels on the beach we will take Serene Hill anytime. The name says it all Serene Hill is certainly that and more. If the hundreds of birds that use the edge of the overflow pool for bathing in & the beautiful butterfly's of all colours that live in the spectacular plant life could talk they would tell you the same, or maybe they wouldn't they may just keep it a secret as I probably should. We stayed in a wooden Villa at the top of the hill, it was lovely, could do with some more seating, just a couple of chairs on the balcony would do but don't let that put you off as we noticed some other people had managed to put plastic pool chairs on their balcony. The hill is extremely steep but they use a golf buggy and they will transport you up in that. However when we return I will book a Wooden Villa lower down on the hill due to my old ankle injury as I found I had to be very carefull walking down. breakfast was good and all other meals that we ate here were also good & reasonably priced. The pool is large and the top tier is a shallower pool with a large spa area that overflows into the main pool, this pool also has an overflow edge, you can look down the hill to Lamai and the sea from the pool. great views, great hotel, great staff.

A great place! The staff was extraordinary, very polite and eager to help in any way. I m very sorry that there were so few other guests which made the staff unoccupied a lot. The good thing was that we could have the great pool almost for ourselves the whole week. Tha SPA section was a bit of a disappointment though because of their high prices. I tried a two hours Thai massage which was as pricy as 1,400 Baht. Normal fee is about 300 Baht. The staff is high educated though... I recommend Serene Hill Resort for families, single adults and people who wants to be tsunami safe - but not for people who can't walk up hills. It was a steep walk up to our villa from the road. A splendid view though made the walk worth every effort!
Reservation service:
