I think its our 4th time staying att this hotel.Staying in Deluxe bungalow. 2 adult and 2 children, the oldest 3 year in an extrabed, the 6 years old can share bed with adult. The bungalow is big anough for our family. Clean and fresh. And side by side with the biggest pool of 2. The smaller pool is nearby the bigger family bungalows. Also the restaurang is lovely. The breakfast is perfect. And in the evening you can eat both in restaurang and at the beach..

A unique experience, so much better than other traditional hotels that all look alike. The bungalow are very comfortable, with air-con, a sort of Home from home experience with the added bonus of fantastic daily cleaning (with new sheets & towels) and definitely service with smiles. We felt very welcome and pour children said that they felt like smiling all the time as we were greeted by so many smiles everyday. Ha ving 2 swimming pools to choose from was an added bonus (one of them even has free wifi access). We hired a car for a few days and the staff at Smile House made the process very smooth especially when we decided to keep the car for an extra day.

Nice hotel located in Bophut, decent price. However, the restaurants in the area are not decently priced, they are quite high-end and thus pricey. Hotel breakfast is good, rooms are clean, staff is friendly. The beach near the hotel is not that good though, big grains so not very comfortable. Their swimming pool(s) are nice and clean though, but their free Internet service is only available at the pool area, not in the rooms which I think is a pity. My only complaint is that when I paid for motorbike rental and ferry tickets booked through the hotel, they (their bank) converted into my local currency at a horrendous rate, and when asked about it, they claimed no knowledge and just blamed the bank and showed zero understanding that they just cost me several percent for that payment.

The hotel is very nice. We stayed at a bungalow for five days, and liked it very mutch. The breakfast buffet is really good and the restaurant is right on the beach. The only thing is that some of the bungalows is as mutch as 400 meters from the beach, and the beach is not clean. The water is not good. The hotel is right in Fishermans village, and that is nice. If you are not going to be at the beach, this is a nice place to stay! Very nice swimmingpools. One in the front and one in the end of the garden.

Simply the best recommendations from af a dansh family, with 3 kids. We stayed in the 3 bedroom villa,which is surprising luxurious . wow! Breakfast buffet is great in the newbuilded wooden house. This with the stunning seaview and just next to the wonderfull beach massage. Absolutely overwelming and nice nice staff - they just loved our kids, helped with fax an so on - they even sent a forgotten suit by a quick flight to Bangkok before we left the country from there! Try the bananapancake from always smiling Jack on the corner :)

Smile House lived up to its name. We loved it. We did have a two bedroom, two bathroom, sitting room and a lovely outside balcony. Excellent for four and cost around 100 a night. Breakfast was included and apart from the coffee being so strong(I love mine strong) it was nice. The location in Boput was fantastic, right on the beach. Staff were friendly and helpful. Shopping was great and the location was easily accessable to some great day tours. We would go back in a flash.

We have stayed in the smile house many times and always find it fantastic rooms are cleaned everyday huge bed and fresh flowers were in the room which was a lovely touch, showers are are very low pressure but it doesnt cause a huge problem, prime location with everything you need on you door. The spa is very handy and would recommend the massage very relaxing and private little more pricey than most places but you get what you pay for.One improvement would be the pool area service there are no refreshments would be nice if a service was provided to serve refreshemnts around the pool apart from that i would highly recommed to anyone young or old see you next year !

We stayed for two weeks. The room was nice and clean and the staff were really friendly. The restaurant was still being built but they gave us as much breakfast as we wanted every morning in our rooms, providing we ordered the night before. Once or twice they gave us more than we asked for. The weren't that many other guests so there was plenty of room by the pools and the resort is very close to the beach and shops/restaurants. It was quiet so would be fine for families. There were fancier looking resorts in Bophut but this one was good fot the price, and some of the fancier resorts were slightly further out of town. It is also easy to get around Samui; about 50bt by taxi-bus to Chaweng. Bophut is generally much calmer than Chaweng. The only negative thing I would say is that we found quite a lot of mosquitos around the balcony so sitting out there could be quite uncomfortable, but overall I would recommend the resort.

My wife and I stayed for 2 nights. We were very disappointed on arrival to be told that the beach front dining hall was closed for refurbishment. This was during the second week of November 2011. This resulted in breakfast being delivered to our bungalow each morning. Not the end of the world but it would ave much nicer overlooking the beach. The refurbishment also resulted in loud mechanical noise during the day. The resort looked very nice and the swimming pool and spa very enticing. However it just seemed to lack a heart . We felt as If we were staying alone rather than part of a resort. Bungalow as comfortable enough but the shower was weak and basic.

Smile house was great value for money and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again. The pools are clean and a godsend as we were a little disappointed with the beach, the sand is very course shingle and the sea was very cloudy. The resort wasn't busy while we were there so that helps. Rooms are comfortable and well maintained by the maid service and everyone is helpful if you have a problem. If I was to return to Samui it would be back to the Fishermans village and Smile House.

Har akkuratt hatt to fantastiske uker i Juli og bodde på Smile house resort. Hyttene var av helt grei standard og alle hadde veranda og air condition. To svømme basseng og spa avdeling. Servicen der er helt fantastisk og resorten ligger helt perfekt. Bophut beach er rolig og er et sted som man kan slappe av og spise god mat. Mange boder og mye spennende mat da man bor i Fishermans village. Mere normal shopping finner man 10 min unna i mere hektiske omgivelser (chaweng og tesco)

Only slight niggle is the fact that many tiles in swimming pool cracked and wife split open foot - when we made the hotel aware their answer was we know but theres so many we d need to drain the pool to repair - this needs doing rght away before a child gets hurt.

The location of the hotel was excellent! Fisherman's village itself was nice and quiet (but not too quiet). Hotel area was very well kept and tidy. The photos of the hotel in their www-site don't show properly how beautiful the area is with all the vegetation. Hotel staff was nice and helpful. Rooms were cleaned every day. We liked the breakfast, too. Omelette, bacon and fresh fruits were my favorites. We can sincerely recommend this hotel to others.

This is our third stay in Thailand and we would not look any further for accomodation in Fishermen's village. The location is perfect, bungalows are lovely very clean everything you need, cleaned everyday with new bedding and fresh beach and bathroom towels, staff are very helpful and the grounds of smile house and beautiful. The pool areas are fantastic. Breakfast is also very good with a good variety of hot and cold foods. I really don't have a bad word to say and will return in the winter.Highly recommend.

Very poor standard quality and not cleaned very well. Make sure you read when booking as we had to upgrade as the room we booked was of poor standard compared to other accommodation in the area. Some staff were friendly but not very well informed as they tried to charge us twice. No phones in accommodation so contacting reception required a good five minute walk each time back and forwards for any problems which could be improved.

Booking was efficient but room information needs to be updated as the accomodation pictures were very outdated, plus when booking a room it would be nice not to be placed surrounded by 3 group of families all each with 2/3 children. Planning should have been priority after we requested a quiet room. This was unsatisfactory being woken every morning at 5am.

This was my second visit at Smile House. It is clean and well run, offering excellent value for money. The bungalows are quite spacious, but even better are the tropical gardens surrounding the accomodation which are beautifully kept and really add to the feel of the place. Check out Smile's restaurant which does excellent food. Location: Bophut does not have the best beach on Samui, but it's a nice villagey feel if you don't won't the chaos of somewhere more commercial. I would recommend Smile, but I d also recommend checking out other locations perhaps on Koh Phangan or Koh Tao on your trip.

We had the most wonderful time at Smile House. First of all we want to mention the people who work there, received us, fixed everything we asked for, and cleaned perfectly every day. The food was good, the Family Chalet was wonderful with very good airco and a nice terrace, the garden was magnificent and very well kept, and the swimming pool was a big success with our children. The beach was not very attractive for a family with small children, but it was easy and cheap to get to other beaches. Smile House does not only keep the smile on their own faces, but also on yours.

I stayed at this hotel with my wife in March 2010. The pictures of this hotel on siameservices.com (i made booking on this site) is not very good and pictures do not show the beauty of this hotel! The hotel has a lot of plants and trees and the hotel is perfectly located on the beach. Friendly staff, breakfast was not very diverse, but offers a lot of fruit that I and my wife really liked. Restaurant in the hotel is the best on the beach! You can easy access the shop Tesko and beaches Chaveng by scooter for 5-10 minutes

Previous reviews had mentioned room very dark(true) and a little dated(true) BUT there was lots of space, great servicing and excellent facilities and we found them to be excellent. The large pool was fantastic, as was the choice for breakfast. When we had problems with the safe and light they were attended to straight away. They very also good at booking tours and car hire. There was a very surly looking supervisor/owner who seemed to look angry all the time in the restaurant!!! Great location to all the restaurants and yet the cabins are very quiet. I think Bophut is excellent location on Samui for thoses that dont want to be totally isolated from bars and restaurants but dont want the party party atmosphere of Chaweng!

Inexpensive compared to others in the Bo Phut area but in a much better position. Although the rooms could do with a bit of updating this is nothing to worry about. Breakfast is served in their resturant and you have a choice form the menu of what you would like. Friends of mine have also stayed there and found it excellent value for money

We spent two weeks at the hotel and i did an awful lot of research beforehand on guests comments etc...i have to say that it is a great hotel, gorgeous grounds,the staff are lovely and the location is fantastic! The room we had was the cheapest of the options - however, it was lovely and suited our needs. The lighting was very low and a little hard to see yrself in the mirror - but, that really is the only gripe! We stayed Oct 28 - Nov 12th, the weather was on and off, mainly sunny and hot, but, boy..when it rains it rains! The hotel provide great umbrellas! The breakfast in the hotel sits right on the beach and provided a great selection. All in all, its a great place to stay and i would say the best value for money in the area and of a really high quality. Before i forget, there are two pools, the one at the front is a fantastic size and the rear one is slightly smaller-but in the shade to keep out of that hot sun! All in all, it is great and we loved it, thank you.

Outstanding. The grounds are around the hotel are stunning/lush. Easy walking access to the beach, wonderful restaurant on the beach. Near Big Buddah and many other activities. Recommend renting a motor bike and just cruising about the area. Staff was incredibly kind/friendly. Thank you so much for a wonderful time.

An excellent location right in the middle of Bophut Fishermans Village right opposite the beach, great pool, no hotel services such as room service, tea and coffee facilities nor phone. Fanastic gardens and quiet when considering that the hotel is so close to the center of Bophut. Could be better if there was a clock in the room. When leaving get the hotel staff to ring for a cab therefore no booking fee, no hassle with local drivers battering over the fare. 300 baht all up throught the hgotel with no hassles.

Smile house is a beautiful and well-maintained hotel on Bophut beach. The bungalow we had was spacious and very comfortable. The breakfast was good, but lacked some Thai food that we wanted. We had dinner once in their restaurant and would rate it good. Service was OK, but perhaps a bit too laid back. All in all, I would recommend this hotel -- can't beat the price for what you get.

Excellent hotel, especially suitable for children. Staff was friendly and helpful, tour bookings etc. were easy to make. The hotel has two swimming pools, bigger one is located at open, sunny area and smaller one is in the middle of the garden, shadowed by trees. The grounds were very well kept and beautiful. Great hotel in every aspect.

This was our first time to Samui with our children, and we were very pleasantly surprised when we arrived at Smile, it was all that we could have asked for. The staff were always friendly and helpful, and really loved our children. We used the babysitting once and were happy with it. The pools were gorgeous, especially the small, shady one near our room. We stayed in the terrace rooms which were fine, a little dark in the day, but nice and peaceful. Well worth the lower price, as we weren't there much, and the small balcony was fine for us, especially with the lovely gardens and paths around. Great restaurant, especially for long, lazy breakfasts. Met some other lovely families staying there. Once moving around the island, really think we found the best place in the best area. Loved the fishermans village, (if a little exey). Will definitely be back to Smile, hopefully with other friends and family. Really think Smile should update their photos as it is better than the photos show. Off-season fantastic!

This is the third time i have stayed here and the second time this year. I Would recommend to anyone. The bungalows are of a superb quality and they maintain good standards of cleanliness. The service is very unintrusive, however they are always at hand to provide that extra touch if required. Bo Phut is probably the best place to go in Samui. Great restaurants, local bars, and friendly people.

The resort is not a five star hotel but with all the amenities that you needed for a holiday. It's quiet and not as busy as hotels in Chaweang. Breakfast is fairly good but something has to be done with the flies. You have to fling the flies non stop throughout the whole breakfast. We stayed in a 2 bedroom luxury bungalows. The rooms are very spacious and the toilets are very clean. The only thing is the room light is very dim that you couldn't even read even during daytime. TV channels are not that great as well. I would sugest to have a DVD installed. Both pools are well kept and not crowded. The beach is nice and clean but the sand is kind of rough. All in all we had a good time and is recommended.

We stayed in a Family room at smile house with 2 bedrooms. There was plenty of space for our 2 small families to stay. The gardens were beautiful, full of flowers and kept really well. The 2 pools were great to take a dip in. Everyone was friendly and helpful at smile house reception. The breakfast was great and filled us all up well. The food from the restaurant we found expensive and a little bland, but realised that all restaurants on Bophut beach were expensive compared to other resorts we have visited, so we took ourselves off to Chaweng to find cheap eats most nights.

We really enjoyed our stay at Smile House Resort. The rooms were good - the only criticism I could make is that they were dark, but that is the traditional style of building. The staff at the resort were really friendly and we liked the family atmosphere and the feeling of not being totally separated from the local Thai population as can be the case in smarter resorts. The restaurant and the food were wonderful. We found that it was the place at which all our friends staying at surrounding beaches chose to gather.
