buen lugar y tranquilo en plena selva, estas rodeado de una fauna alucinante, vimos serpientes,lagartos que viven contigo en el bungalow. El baño desastroso tuvimos que limpiarlo a fondo por que era imposible. si conoces ko tao, esta muy bien y barato, aunque las camas son de terror.

Nice stay, for 5 nights. The family chalet was nice, with 2 rooms, clean and well fitted (safety box, fridge).The staff was very nice and prompt to help for any request. The location was Ok for us, not far from the jetty and all shops, still apart from the center.

In the middle of nature on top of the hill was our house. It was simple but very fine. The restaurant was good, very nice people and the sea looks like pardise! We dived by neigbour Master Divers. Also a good combination. We liked our stay at Koh Tao!

Rested in the hotel from 18 to 26 February. Really enjoyed it.The rooms have everything you need. The restaurant at the hotel great food. Good location. Not far from the cafes and shops. At the same time, the hotel is very quiet and peaceful.

Not our cup of Tea! Too close to the harbour, fairly run down bungalows, no daily cleaning, no breakfast included. Nice people and ok food but at that price we had experter more.

A very pleasant stay in the larger bungalows. Clean and comfortable beds for all four pers. Maybe the bathroom could be better!? We loved the personel from day one, and enjoyed good the sevice with a smile and good food at good value.

Absolutely excellent and friendly service. Comments made in other reviews saying staff was unfriendly is simply incorrect, those customersshould definitely take a look at themselves. Nice accomodation directly starting at beach build on hillside just outside Mea Haad center on very short walking distance, but still very quite. My suggestion to the resort is to renew the matrasses, as these have become too hard. Some comfortable beach chairs would also be a suggestion.

Royal Resort was just our cup of tea (family of 4)! We loved the walk through the village to the end road which led to Royal Resort, stopping for a massage just before you hit the Royal. Staff were very relaxed and friendly, so much so that we decided to ditch Sairee Beach accommodation and continue to stay at Royal Resort which was low key and away from young drinking tourists. Beautiful tropical garden setting was a perfect location for our family to settle into Thai life in a family run resort. Will definitely go back.

Nice little hotel. It is possible though to find cheaper and better location depending on needs. The place is off enough to be peaceful and close enough to have Mae Haad on walking distance and 5 min taxi (200 baht) to Sairee. Rooms were nice. Staff was compliant and good. At one time they were very rude, though. The portier, also working in the bar, was very drunk and said unfitting things to the girl.

Worked fine, although it was quite disturbing to be forced to pay 50% in advance. Bad that the hotels telephone number is not listed.

Very friendly people with good service and support. The bungalows are simple but clean and very stylish (typical for the thailand). We have had a Deluxe Hill Side with a great view. I would stay there again and can recommend it to everyone who looks for a very good value for money.

Do not go there. the houses themselves are not so bad but expremely dirty, dusty and stinky as the toilet is in the room and no detergents are ever used to clean it.(walls are purply dusty and big cockroaches are living there). Besides you might get lucky and get the room next to the road which goes to Paradise Sensi Resort and Charm Churee Villa so it is NEVER quiet there as Thai people have fun at nite and in the mornin (6a.m.)water and goods are delivered to the hotels. SERVICE is the worst. there is a guy( one of the managers) who is extremely rude and the most important they are liars. They promised to give the quiet bungalow the first day, then to change it , then to clean it and they didnt.their reason was that NOBODY DIE IN HERE . they immediately demand the other part of money . in my case one of the waiters tried to grab my bag( in the form of the joke) and kept saying GIVE money now! so if you really want to stay in a cheap place you better go to other ones as Diamond, Stay Bungalows with nice Mr. TEE. they are clean and really cheap. Anyway you wouldnt be able to swim at Royal next to the boats and would go to Sairee or Jansom Bay(200 THB to pay). P.S. dont rely on air conditioning as the electricity at nite just switches off at THIS hotel( cant say the same abt Charm Churee, Sensi and the Stay bungalows)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Royal Resort as it provided a good base to explore the island. The room had everything you require and was well maintained. The staff were very helpful and can be relied upon with their reccommendations. The resort is set within picturesque settings and i would certainly recommend the accommodation.

We stayed 6 nights in a standard aircon bungalow. The accommodation is pretty basic but perfectly comfortable. All the bungalows are situated in a beautiful tropical garden which you can view at your leisure from the hammock on your own veranda. It’s a nice setting and you are not bothered by other guests as all accommodation is separate bungalows. Service was very friendly and relaxed and if you eat there you will not be disappointed. Everything we had was absolutely delicious! What the bungalows might lack in luxury is more than made up for by the fact that Royal Resort is situated on the nicest patch of beach on Mae Head. We also stayed at Sensi Paradise next door, which though considerably more up-market has the inferior patch.

Great location directly on the beach. Be warned that this is only a 3/5 min walk from the ferry pier, you do not need to get a taxi!! Turn right when coming off the boat and walk straight until the end of the road, Royal Resort 2nd last reception. Hut were very clean and comfortable. Take plenty of mossie repellant or a net as the fan was not enough to deter them from coming into our hut. Family who run the resort were very pleasnat and helpful. Enjoyed our stay so much we booked an additional night. Koh Tao paradise.....boat trip from Samui was an experience, sea sick tablets def recommended.

I am 23 and I am from FL, USA The bungalows here were very nice. It was quiet and easy to sleep. The bed was comfortable and the sheets were clean. The AC and fan worked well. However, I did not like the resort manager at all. He very insincere was not helpful. Unlike the rest of the Thai s. Apart from that It was a nice resort and it was comfortable. However if I came again I would stay at New Heaven. The woman there was extremely nice and friendly. I went looking for a vacancy since I did not like the manager at Koh Tao Royal Resort he was a jerk. Unfortunately it was too much of a hassle to cancel at Koh Tao Royal Resort.

Amazing views from our hillside bungalow. Simple, traditional Thai style, which is what we wanted. Not sure what would have happened if it rained as we could see specks of light through the woven roof. We thought it was a bit expensive when we booked compared to other accomodation, but wouldn't have missed it and would have stayed longer if we could. Porter very friendly and helpful.

I would not recommend the deluxe rooms as they are located up the hill & up the stairs. Also the bathroom is accessible via very steep stairs/ladder. We also had a snake in our room. The staff however are friendly & did move us following the discovery of the snake.

bungalow was lung to sleep sometimes is the cradle of the issues between the residents if you you like big lizards to sleep with you in the room, the bungalow was for expensive, we think, is not recommended, staff only ok, not a good place for bathers

Nice place at the quiet end of the beach. Facilities were good if a little overpriced compared to other places. You pay for the quiet atmosphere, away from the party bars, and a decent nights sleep. 5 mins walk from the main shops in Mae Had.

although fairly basic huts this place is great! do not go if expecting 5* facilities - this is basic thai island accomodation at it's best. the restaurant looks out onto the harbour and has small beach area and incredibly clear water great for snorkelling. The guys that run this place are super friendly and a real good laugh. the food they do is top notch and it is minutes walk into the main part of mae haad. the huts are spacious and in great gardens - big walks up hills though - and our balcony had a great view!! would recommend to everyone!!! cheers guys for a great stay

Location is very good for adult people (I mean no parties near your window). Several small beautiful beaches are in a short walking distanse. Stuff is extremely friendly. Fan bungalow is simple but OK for this money. It sits in the garden, so you never feel hot. We were planning to stay 8 nights, but stayed 12.

Good place Freindly poeple. This is the third year that we have stayed their for more than 7 nights each time. The rooms have been up graded and the owners now have a taxi service. They are nice poeple. Ko Tao is a great place to visit.

Absolutely fantastic. We stayed for 7 nights, the bungalows were clean and very comfortable. We had a hillside room and enjoyed many a evening sitting in the hammock admiring the fantastic view. The only critisism would be the lighting in the room at night is a bit dim, but they do have 24 hr electricity. Naturally, they are not the most luxurious rooms on the island but the value is amazing. We stayed for 3 nights at a different resort (that cost 5 times the price) and were much more comfortable here. The real charm of this hotel is the staff. They were so friendly and would welcome our hungover faces with a smile and a great breakfast every morning. The location is great, not too busy but not too quiet. They even have their own taxi service to get you to the hard to reach beaches. Keep up the good work guys.

We had a terrible stay at this resort!!! We paid the 1900bht per night before we arrived which was a big mistake. The room was nothing like those advertised...there were holes in the floor and the front door, the drain in the shower did not work, the room stank of stale smoke and there where electrical wires hanging all around the place. When we spoke to the manager/owner about this he became very irate and irrational. After a long arguement he refused to refund our money. He then phoned SiameServices and argued with them. We ended up staying in another resort in a room that was 10 times better for 700bht a night less!

SiameServices were excellent, they helped us find somewhere else to stay at very short notice and refunded all of the money we paid to the Koh Tao Royal Resort. We spoke to a manager at the call centre who organised everything for us.

Not the best at all. There was no hot water and the fan was useless. The surroundings are nice and the beach out the front good for swimming. However if you want to be close to the main beach and restuarants do not stay here. Reccommend View Cliff resort.
