planes reserves simple bungalow located too high in the hill at our taste… too far from the reception and of the restaurant ........ following our request had another room with the sea level….without difficulty… splendid very calm place the morning and in end d after midday when the excursions are finished… it's a pity that the breakfast was served only once in dresser at the time of our 7 days stay….

The setting is fantastic, very romantic. The manageress is exceptional. The bungalow was very simple and the bathroom not very practical, water not very clean but I suppose this can be expected because of the setting. Hotel sevice and food ZERO! We would never return to this hotel.

The standard rooms are really not good. The beds are as hard as wood, the towels are dirty and you can fall on cockroaches. You will need a torch to see where you re walking when you go back to your room at night and also to see if there is a crab (not small ones) that is going to jump in front of you. The place is very nice, it worth staying one night but not more.

The view is good there.But the service in the restaurant was the worst i had met in Thailand. My daughter had a high fever in Nang Yuan Island, I had to ask for some hot water for her to take some medicine in the restaurant. But the man who might be a manager there told me that if I want to have a small glass of hot water I had to pay 20Bath for it ！Money is the most important thing for your resort? It's the worst impression for me in Thailand!

Great place to be except that the wife nearly killed herself on the unsafe railings which are brittle and not maintained. The beds were too hard. The island is magnificent though even if the coral has spoiled a bit through bleaching and storms. Saw black tip reef sharks.

Il faut etre pret a jouer le jeu et a passer les pieds dans l eau a maree basse pour rejoindre sa chambre. les coraux sont au pied de votre chambre et le site absolument exceptionnel. we asked for hot water for my 2 yr old baby. The staff at restaurant said charge for 10B and I explained we are staying and for my baby smilk feeding. They still said 10B. They should have provided kettle in the room and if not never should charge extra. It is a long way to go to ask for hot water at the restaurant. check out time is 10am too ealry. and if after swiming I need a frest water shower at the beach they insisted to charge each person a 10 B again.When I was picked up by the boat back to Koh Samui I asked where my tow luggages, the staff at the couneter said her colleagued bring them to the pier already. Then when we were almost on broad,I asked where my luggages.. They then realized they have left at the counter????? very bad servbices. Their staff at the restaruant never cleaned tables or floor, but were around to caht each other. I asked to order food, they asked me to find a table myslef even I was with my two year old baby . I did need their help to find a spare table, as alomost full. They asked me to go some corner to find the spare tabel my self and will be bakc to me in one minute, but no boday came ..... I don;t think they cared about client's services at all and charg etoo much on room rate ...

Koh nan Yuan is beautiful, but it depends on what time of year you travel here. In march the sea was better than in July. The tide seems to destroy the beach a bit and the water was not the same. Really nice staf. Rooms where ok, but fair cleaning. It's a beautiful getaway, especially when all the turists leave at 15.00 PM. I will really recomend diving and instructor Bree. It's good value for money,9800 bath for a diving course. You learn it from the beach. The island has a lot of cats. About 50 and some snakes, a few crabs, a lot of insects and sharks every morning....

This is the worst experience i had during my this trip to Koh Samui and I will never come back to live here again! Smelly restroom, and some animals kept making noises on top of the reef or deside (like someone always knocking at the door). And to be honest, I did not find the whole island nicer than Koh Tao. Plus you have to be ready for the mosquitos.

We had a wonderful time at this resort.Of course you should not expect a luxurious room since this place is in the middle of no where but we had the basics like water and a/c.Breakfast finishes early so make sure you arrive at their little restaurant in time.Plastic bottles are not allowed so we took our beverages in glass ones which once emptied, we brought back with us to Samui.There is no contact between the room and the reception and there is definitely a shortage of staff in the resort.The manager was not a rude person I had read in the reviews and come to think of it running a remote place like this which such a small work force is not an easy job.It has not been maintained since the last four years when it used to be cleaner.There is a lot of rubble and broken structures all over the place which is so sad.Despite all the the view from our room was breathtaking and the water and sea life around this place was amazing!The responsible people should take care of this fast deteriorating place and preserve its beauty.Beware of the sharp corals though and be careful while walking on the wooden pathways.This place is perfect to spend just three nights.

The island was beautiful and our room very basic. Our bathroom had an infestation of Mosquitos which we couldn't seem to get rid of so I would advise bringing some strong repellant! The food on the island was great, and the snorkelling excellent. The beach wasn't so comfortable to relax on as the sand was covered in pebbles and coral and the wooden loungers were very hard! We had a lot of steps to climb to get to our room and there was a power cut one night so I would advise taking a torch! It was a pretty quiet when we stayed and not a lot to do in the evenings so 2 nights were enough for us.

I read many different reviews about this place, some good some bad, before I made my booking and there was one review that caught my attention and it went something like... forget about the miserable manager, expensive food and if you re staying in the standard accommodation, the hard bed and no flushing toilet...you are on one of the most beautiful places on earth... . I could not agree more with that review! Regarding the manager, if you are arrogant with him, he will be arrogant with you...greet him with a friendly smile and all will be ok from then on. The food is slightly more expensive than other places but this is because they have to ferry their goods to the island everyday, which will obviously hike the prices up...but in saying that, this place probabaly had some of the nicest food and nicest presentation of food that I experienced in my entire Thailand trip! For the standard room option, try and book A5, this will probably have the best sea views of all the rooms and only has a couple of steps to get to. I stayed in A6 which was a little higher up with a few extra steps but also had a great view. The room is very basic but was actually better than what I imagined. It has an air con plus a fan so you can chill the room up quite a lot. This island basically has 3 beautiful beaches to choose from and this place truely is a little slice of paradise! The water is very clear and perfect for snorkeling and diving. Another positive is that there are no annoying people trying to sell you stuff all the time so if it's peace and relaxation you re after, this place is it, but only for a short stay tho. I stayed here for 3 nights which I think is more than enough. Rather set your expectations a little lower when booking this place and then you'll be pleasantly surprised when you check in...remember, this is one of the most beautiful places on earth! Highly recommended and will definitley stay there again.

the resort was exactly what we expected - even a little bit better cuz I thought the electricity supply was only available for some hours. But it turned out to be around the clock. We booked the cheapest bungalows with fan w/o cold water. The only desadvantage for me was the bungalow was very far away from the beach. The staff told me only the room with air conditioner (2000 Baht) was clower. I would have booked it for saving all the way up to our bungalow.Generally speaking the island was very beautiful with crystal clear water. We enjoyed snorkling very much :)

We booked one of the cheap chalets...big mistake! It was at the top a hill accessed only by rickety wooden steps, which were slippy and dangerous. The room was extremely basic particularly the WC. The handrail around our chalet deck was rotten. It collapsed when my wife lent on it. She was lucky not to injure herself. There was also a hole in the deck floor where a flooring plank had become loose. We complained and were offered another room which was more expensive. We were offered a 30% discount which we accepted. Although I think in the circumstances(my wife having had a bad fall)that a free upgrade would have been more appropriate.Our new room was much better but very overpriced.

Nangyuan island is definitely a perfect romantic getaway spot. It is, however, incredibly isolated after 5pm. There is only one restaurant at the hotel (which means only one place on the island), which serves decent food (meaning not awesome) at a slightly higher price than would be found elsewhere. The scuba and snorkeling cannot be beat (everyone from Koh Tao comes to Nangyuan everyday from 10am-5pm in order to do these activities). I stayed there with my partner in an A/C room, and I definitely enjoyed it for the 5 days I spent there. The sunrise/sunset is awesome. The toilets don't flush (you have a water bucket), but the staff is very nice and there are plenty of DVDs you can have for free. Beware - if you book online thru an agent you cannot get a diving course accomodation discount!

while the hotel was in a great location, the fan rooms were subjected to very loud generator noise ALL night. A friend in an a/c room did not suffer the noise.Also - very loud thumping music kept me awake after midnight. No hot water in the rooms - which should have been made clear on booking.

Absolutely beautiful location. I had been there before to visit/snorkel, and had to bring my wife this time. We booked our first two nights in Thailand there. Asiana Airlines lost our luggage on the way, so we had to cancel 1st night and stay in Samui and wait for our bag (huge bummer). They were cool enough to give us 70% of our room cost for that 1st night towards our food bill. Bungalos were small, but all you need. Good water pressure for shower, tough to walk to from restaraunt. Dont suggest for those who do not get around well, as you have to climb many stairs and rocks to get to your room. We dove w/ the dive resort there: DO NOT SUGGEST! Their eqquipment is old and decreped. Staff does not fix leaks or problems...they just say that it is old and it should be OK . Wife found tarantula in BCD on 2nd day. Enough said. All staff friendly. Prices for food are about 3 times that what you will pay in Town of Koh Tao. That is the case at most all the resorts in Koh Tao though: You get the conveinence of food/massage/whatever, at your resort, but pay 3 times more than in Town. Definately suggest going to this resort, at least for a couple nights to enjoy the remoteness, then move on, if you are like us and get bored easily.

It was a very pleasant stay! We arrived a day early than we had booked, because the boat connections from mainland had problems, but they had no problem helping us out on the resort with changing check-in and check-out days. They also help with the booking of the return trip to mainland. Everybody was very nice, only problem was that during evenings there isn't much to do... perfect for couples and families that can entertain themselfs. The restaurang had good food but was a bit overpriced. And deepending on what accomodations you choose (price randge)there can bee a bit of a walk to get to the bungalow. But overall impression of the resort and the diving was absolutly great, snorkling from the beach is perfect.

Such a beautiful island! Didn't want to leave, literally like being in paradise. The room was just standard but the view was fantastic, right on the beach. Would recommend one of the huts in the middle rather than up either of the mountains as there's lots of unstable steps to climb - scary doing it in the dark. Also they say that the view is better up the mountains, but a lot of the greenery is overgrown, blocking your view and making the middle section better. Lots of people have complained about the staff and service - we were always served good food very promptly so missed out on the bad experiences of others.

the islands themself are extremely beautiful and the coral reefs are stunning pity the same cant be said of the resort itself. They gave me room F8 which is a very far long hike and climb up a steep hill along a rickety wooden bridge which is in the process of collapsing. i certainly wouldnt have used it at night. the room was awful, dirty, and need of a lick of paint. I refused the room and was told i would have to pay 1500 baht extra per night for an airconditioned room near the beach(D12). this i gladly did. what a difference, a much nicer room which was much more modern and cleaner than F8. The manager is also a grumpy miserable man with no sense of humor. food is ridiculously expensive as well.

A great place to relax, bath, snorkeling and diving. Heavenly Island for romance and a lovely place for a tremendous sunset. The bungalows was OK but the restaurants service and capacity to serv the food to all guest at the same table in fairly same time was not acceptable. It was nearly nothing on the plates and two persons finished their plate before the next two plates arrive and our grandsons (2,5 year) dish arrives 5-10 minutes after everyone finished their dinner, (we ordered pancakes for him, how hard is that?. Miserable service and very bad timing (no timing at all, actually). However, I can recommend the soft shelled crab and thai dishes, but if you order pasta, ask for two portions if you don´t wish to have a starter. The fish was to dry and grilled to hard that the meat was almost gone. But I highly recommend them to train their restaurant staff in service, timing and the english language (I´m Swedish). Overall, I really recommend this place, It´s absolutely worth a visit for it´s spectacular beauty. I´m gladely come back for a visit.

The location of the hotel leaves no doubt: it is a must when visiting Koh Tao. The water is much cleaner than anywhere else in the area, the dive- and snorkelling-sites are there and the corals are nice. In the evening, when there are just a handful of people around, the experience is almost mystical. There are very nice wooden ways around the island. Take a walk on them at twilight, when there are lights: this you won't forget in years. Promise. The island makes a great impression and the very basic accomodation comes actually very natural and is overall OK. There is only one big BUT: the stuff at the hotel's restaurant and the restaurant itself. It is NOT Thailand. It is so much out of the general rule. Very strange.

What a great place on earth (and sea) and then a nice and clean accommodation too. Services should have top ratings and then there are even great discounts on the accommodation when signing up for diving school/events. Highly recommendable place.

Extremely satisfying with status reports, recognition of payments etc.

Accommodation and facilities:
This is a special place. We stayed here for 3 nights and with only one restaurant and one bar there is not mutch to do BUT we did relax, we did much snorkling and this is the most beatyfull place to do that. We stayed in junior suite and the view from here was fantastic, it was a nice and clean room. The staff was very friendly and most helpfull. We will be back again no doubt about that.

Lovely hotel. Great breakfast. Wonderful staff. We stayed on the 4th floor of the main building with beautiful water view. Excellent location on the beach. Will be back!
