booked to stay in rooms 15/16 got put in the wooden builings 18/19,which were ok but not worth there 1,200bht price or even the 1,000 we paid. they do not clean rooms,make the bed change linen or towels unless you ask for it to be done,the matresses and pillows have plastic sheeting around them so the beds are very uncomfortable and make you feel even hotter,only real good point is they are handy for the dive school i use,not really much to recomend save bungalows unfortunately,i have sayed on koh tao at various places many times,this is one establishment there that i will not be returning too,this was my brothers 1st thailand trip and after having been in koh samui in better and cheaper rooms this was a big let down for him,we were both disappointed with our rooms,Bad choice this time!!!!

Really lovely all round, Mr and Mrs T were so helpful. Rooms were clean (go for the stone rooms rather than the wooden bungalows - much cooler!) good location in MAE Haad near loads of bars and restaurants but if you re looking for a party area then this isn't it. Was perfect for me as I wanted some r&r after Bangkok before the other islands. Highly recommended, would rush back!

Good place to stay the first night or two to check out Koh Tao. For 600THB you get a bed, a fan, a gold shower and even a fan. Nothing more, nothing less. Just make sure your room/bungalow is not situated on top of the hill, next to the road. Loud as hell!! Nice owners, good service.

Save Bangalows Are a budget Accomodation, Which is exactly what we were after. The Bangalows were clean,secure and had all the basic requirements that we were after.I think it exactly what you pay for. We were paying same Price for a much better Bangalow in Koh Phangan but Koh Tao seems to be more expensive in every way. So I think that Save Bangalows are good Value.

We were on Koh Tao for training to diving. Stayed in hotel only 3 days, came to number just for sleeping. Number very cosy though also small - except a double bed, the TV table and the small whatnot for clothes is located only. If you have a big luggage there will be no place for it. Number is located on 2 floor, an entrance separate from street. A window has seaview. The groundfloor numbers has veiw to court yard or to wall of the next house. Breakfasts are not present, but it is possible to have breakfast in any cafe nearby. As a whole, the hotel was pleasant to us: if the beach is not important and you have a few things, it quite approaches. I will recommend to take numbers 1-2, they situated in separate small houses, are more spacious, there is a hot water and a refrigerator, the price above only 200 baht.

After some other comments that I read, I was a bit nervous about staying at Save Bungalows. I was very impressed when I finally arrived. It is close to the pier which makes it easy for a tired traveler to get there. There are a lot of nice restaurants, bars and shops around. The rooms were clean, spacious and cool. We had a great time staying there!

The bungalow was so awful we turned and ran - we never even checked in. Bottom sheet was really dingy, dirty, second-hand, ugly, and mismatched with the second bed. No top sheet, super old blanket. Mae Haad is not a nice area of Koh Tao - it smells like a filthy pier area. I cannot believe you even allow people to book hotels here! I was disgusted and my daughter was horrified. Not only that, it's far more expensive compared to what you can get right next door without even booking ahead of time! I am a very unhappy customer.

The save bungalows on Koh Tao are terrible, they are overpriced and dingy. We booked a 1000 baht bungalow and when we arrived it was dirty, had only a cold water shower and no flushing toilet. The location was also not great as Mae Haad is pretty dingy. We walked over to the otherside of the Island to Chalok Ban Kao, there were a number of accomodation options that were cheaper (600-800 baht) and also far superior. In the end we moved to the Koh Tao Tropicana resort, getting a room with hot shower, TV, DVD player, private balcony and yes a flush toilet for 800 baht. When we tried to cancel the owner was less than helpful and openly stated he would take two extra night accomodation. Quoting him - You know, for me. Apparently it was for him as the room looked like a cent had never been spent on it. My advice is therefore DO NOT STAY at the save bungalows, Chalok Ban Kao Bay is beautiful and is what your holiday should be like. and forget about save bungalows

These are rather nice bungalows, situated at the southern end of Mae Haad beach, just 15 minutes away from Jansom Bay, where I used to spend my time (snorkeling, swimming). Mae Haad beach is also acceptable (especially if you do not get embarassed by the ships and boats travelling at the sight, a few hundred meters away) for these activities at high tide, till 3 p.m., though. The hotel itself does not provide direct access to the beach, but there are some restaurants on the beach where you can use their services and relax in the sea at the same time. Hotel provides no pool, no breakfasts, but, hey, it is not one of those posh and ridiculously overpriced places too common at Ko Tao, it is more like a guesthouse, but with some hotel-ish peculiarities. I stayed in the bungalow with AC, TV and fridge, and I think that it is well worth the money I paid - it was clean enough, AC worked fine, the bed was okay, too. I know there are guest rooms for a twice as less price almost at the same location, providing the same functionality, but they are close to the road, an it means noise from bikes and cars, so it is up to you to decide. Back to the bungalows, there is a thai style bathroom, and no bathtub, naturally. Bungalows are not very spacious, hold no cabinet or wardrobe, just a bedside-table, so if you used to make your travels with lots of garment and personal items, it is probably not your choice. As for me, I am going to return to this place in my next visit to Ko Tao, most likely.
