Location is a bit far from Ao Nang,nearest 7/11 is a mile away,hardly any shops around,lovely beach and nice bungalows but when busy they are not cleaned,very much a one man band where the owner is trying to do everything without any team effort.Also the wifi is only available in the lobby and does not reach the bungalows which is a pity. Restaurant is good value for money.

This is a budget hotel and good value for the money. Matthew and Sea looked after us very well and cooked us good breakfasts. Our room was small and basic but comfortable and clean.Only one electric socket and that is behind the TV. Koh Kwang is a bit out of the way and you need transport to get to Ao Nang, the nearest town. It would be quiet if the lorries were not chugging up and down but that does stop at night. Very close to the beach (just cross the road). There are no English speaking programmes on the TV in the rooms unless you count about 40 mins of the news in English every morning! Matthew and Sea will cook dinner for you and there are several places to eat that are very close. They will also book any excursions or arrange car/motor scooter hire.

The hotel was clean and nice, Cold showers mean it's best to shower in the afternoon as the sun is going down. Very pretty area, good food, good prices and Matt and Si were very nice and helpful people. Very close to the beach and Koh Kwang town. Scooter hire on site, the scooter was brand new and better than the others in the area at a very reasonable price. I strongly recommend this hotel.

Correct value for your money. A family run establishment, good bungalows, agreeable breakfast. The head of the family has a good English and the staff (i.e. the family) is friendly & helpful. The (Klong Moung) Beach is in walking distance. It is very quiet, almost empty. You must reckon with the hours of low tide,but otherwise the water is crystal clear. Don't miss a Longtail Boat tour to the Hong Islands, they are beautiful, much nicer then Phi Phi Islands.To sum up a very quiet place with beautiful Islands in available distance. It is worth to spend 3 days in Koh Kwang Resort.

We enjoyed this family run resort very much. The food was very good. The owner and the staff were very friendly and the Thai hospitality was great at this resort. Matthew, the owner, gave us great tips on the places to visit. We had a great time exploring the area on our rented motorcycle. We loved the little chalet that we stayed in.The beach was very near to the resort and there was a a great jamaican bar on the beachfront. Overall, it was an excellent and enjoyable trip. I would recommend this resort and we would definitely stay there again on our next trip.

We stayed at the standard fan room for 1 night recently. The location of the resort is 20 minutes drive time from Aonang which provides peaceful atmosphere. The garden is beautiful and the owners are friendly and willing to help. Strongly recommended to rent a motorbike from aonang beach and drive there yourself. The beach is contaminated by drain from several restarant but a little bit north there is a better beach.

We were here during the low season so there wasn't as much to do in the area with regard to restaurants/bars and shopping. There is a small shopping center down the road a bit, maybe a 10 minute walk, but we didn't get a chance to explore. The beach is across the street and you access it by walking down a small path, it is a gorgeous beach and I wish that we had discovered it the first day instead of our last day. When the tide is low you can walk from the beach to a small island. The bungalows themselves are very nice, spacious and clean. There was a tv and a/c for those afternoons that were just too hot for exploring. Three small mini-marts are within walking distance for snacks and drinks. The owners are also very pleasant and accommodating.

The guesthouse itself is OK, not very different than other guesthouse in same rate range (good rooms, good breakfast, helpfull staff, tour services). If you want to stay close to the busy areas of shops and restaurants than this might not be the guesthouse you look for. But if you look for a peacful and quiet guesthouse to come back to after a long day than Koh Kwang Resort is a good choice. There is a pub, some restaurants and a small minimarket few minutes walking from the guesthouse. Most of the tours to the islands and other activities have a pickup service from and back to the guesthouse.

Originally booked here for 1 night but stayed for 4 nights. A nice quiet place with clean and comfy bungalows, ours had a new double bed. Resort has a small restuarant with some wonderful staff who cooked some good food and helped a lot with trips and tours. We rented a motorbike to explore the area and to go to ao nang which is a short ride away. A few bars and restaurants nearby give some evening entertainment. Overall a nice place and recomend it. I would love to come back again.

I would really recommend a stay at this hotel. The bungalow was clean and well-equipped. The place is quite small but cozy. The staff was very friendly and helpful. It's a bit away from the crowded beach of ao nang, and if you re looking for that type of beachlife go elsewhere. there was varios restuarants in walking distance and we can recommend Casa, good service and great food.

My husband and I stayed here for a week over New Years. We had a wonderful stay. The atmosphere is great, the staff is very friendly and welcoming, and they can set you up with tours of the area, and they even have motorbike rentals (which are a must). Although I have a hard time finding a downside, I would say that the location could be an issue for some. It is about 20 minutes out of Ao Nang. This is nice in that you are not in the thick of things and are able to relax, but it can be a hassle if you want to shop, eat, etc. there. Overall, great place!

It is hard to begin explaining how bad this hotel was, and how it ruined our experience at krabi. FACTS: Location: In the middle of nowhere. Rooms: If you are lucky you'll get something similar to the ones if the pictures. No toilet paper. The Fan room is a scam: We got there, the walls where dirty & with spiders. No hot shower, bed sheets with stains, we saw cocroaches and a frog in the room. We had to change to the ac room AC room: Didn't have the ac control, no toilet paper either, weird smell, and couple of lights didn't work. Restaurant: Very bad service, it took 1 hour to bring us two breakfast (everything in different order) and they charged us extra for the breakfast that was supposed to be included. Service: (THE WORST): I could accept the frogs and the waiting, but the worst was the service. WHen we complained at something and the girl at the kitchen started yelling at my girlfriend and said that she doesn't give a @#$% about costumers because is peak season and there is enough customers. And the manager ( an english guy) didn't really do anything to help out the customers. While we were there other customers were complaining and he didn't care at all. TIPS: If you go to Krabi, dont be fooled by the pictures of some hotels, and read the reviews because they mean a lot. Thanks Marcelo & Val

Nice location set away from the town and bars, although some bars are within walking distance. This place is a bike ride or taxi ride away from the main beach and resort area which is about 8 to 10k away. Forget the breakfast, not a breakfast as such, more like hard fried agg on half toasted bread. The bungalow was clean, but tele had no signal, no tea making gear, no mosi nets. The internet was a pc behind the reception desk in full veiw of everyone. Very friendly and helpfull poeple there and will be able to help you with aranging any trips, taxis, events.
