The resort is very beautiful and clean. The beach in front of the resort is not beautiful and not useful for swimming, but you can walk some minutes to the beaches on Railey-south and -west which are very beautiful. Very fine sand and clear water.

Excellent hotel for family, they were flexible with us using the sofa and window bench to sleep our little ones. Breakfast great too. Only thing that could have been even better was a few degrees hotter in pool and wifi only available in lobby.

This was my second stay at Sunrise Tropical Resort. This time I came with my girlfriend and getting there was easy, we arranged for a transfer through SiameServices and it went great. We stayed in the private villa which was very nice - loved the outdoor shower. Room came with a mosquito net which we needed every night as there were mosquitos in the room. All around good place to stay, 5 minute walk to beautiful beach as well as many bars and restaurants. We ate every night on the other side of the island and the food was great and cheap. Pool area was nice and we had a nice show of a group of monkeys jumping from building to building which definitely added to the experience. Would recommend this place to anyone.

Отличный отель. Бунгало - супер. Завтрак хороший. Персонал спешит помочь по любому вопросу. Минус отеля - не очень удачное расположение - на восточной стороне Рэйли. Побережье не слишком чистое, от мангров запах неприятный (а может это и не мангры виноваты, а стоки). Купаться там нереально, а во время отлива вода вообще метров на 100 уходит. Постоянно стоит куча лодок. Минусы восточного Рэйли компенсируется близостью к двум другим отличным пляжам. Пройти до западного Рэйли не проблема - минут 5 мимо минимарта и через территорию Sand Sea Resort. До Phranang Beach минут 8-10 по дорожке мимо скалы с причудливыми сталактитами. Пляж - супер!!! Постоянно встречали обезьян - макак и других каких-то (сами черные, а вокруг глаз - белые очки ). По пляжу бегают крабы. С удовольствием вернулся бы туда ещё.

The place was very nice and the food for breakfast very good. One thing that should improuve is the attidude of your personnel. Not all the personnel, but I could say that 50% of the person where not very kind and we didn't relly feel welcome. Most of them worked in the restaurant and one at the reception. The hotel was OK, at the same time you may just save money by staying further inland at one of the cheap bungalows. There's no swimmable beach in front of the hotel anyway, and the hotel pool is very so-so. So, it's questionable that it's worth paying the premium for staying at the seafront when the seafront, while perfectly fine for a walk, is not usable for any other activity. The hotel restaurant was good for lunch but we were not at all impressed by the quality of their dinner seafood dishes.

Getting to Railay East resorts is interesting. Took a ferry boat from Phi Phi then a long-tail to low tide mangrove beach. Had to get out of boat and carry luggage in ocean on cement path for about 1km. Not a problem for me, but not for people who have a problem roughing it or carrying their own bags. Resort itself was very nice...great cottage with modern bathroom. Great pool and decent breakfast included.

I have stayed at this establishment before and was disappointed in the service. When we arrived tired after a long flight we were informed that staff were at a staff party. We had to carry our luggage as well as there was no restaurant nor tour facilities available. We had to wait while a team member was called to reception to look after us. We were the only arrival and were happy for staff to enjoy their party however it did not get any better. Our beds creaked really badly and they wished to change us to another room however it meant as mother and adult daughter we were to share one bed. This was not satisfactory and they did not come up with any other suggestions. The room service staff were wonderful. The F&B staff were rude sullen and glad we had other places to eat beside breakfast. The tour office and internet facility seemed never to open and we took our business elsewhere along with the minimart. I was very annoyed as I had taken my daughter there to experience what I had 2 years before. As for Railay Beach it is wonderful.

This was a nice place to stay. Room was great and the bed was super comfy - they had two different kinds of pillows which was perfect for choosing just what I liked. This is on the east side of Railay so it's near all the bars and restaurants (but nice and quiet in this part) but this is also on the mangrove side of the island, which means you can't go outside without lathering on the mozzie repellent. The swimming pool was simple. This was a good choice for a little bit of luxury at a reasonable price. Service was friendly and very quick.

It has been our second time at Sunrise Tropical Resort. We stayed 4 nights at the Villa plus room with our 9 month baby. A great hotel, great large comfortable room with a beautiful Thai design and a nice rain shower. The hotel is located on Railly East 5 Min walk from the greatest beaches of Thailand and the bungalows (the villa) are in the middle of a magnificent rainforest so you can feel the nature especially when it's raining. The staff is friendly and helpful. Do not expect much from the pool and the breakfast is not the best in the world but you can change and have a great fruits meal on Prhnang beach. This hotel is the best value for money in all Krabi area and we have been around. Will come again!!

Садик вокруг бунгало и бассейн в его тени в полуденный зной скрывает от солнца.

The hotel is on the east coast and is reached directly via ferries from Krabi. First impression of the beach is thats its not terribly good BUT 2 wonderful beaches to the west and north are only a few minutes stroll away.The rooms are superb value, Dinner was had elsewhere as this is a no alcohol restaurant. We stayed in a Tropical Villa with our two small children and it was really spacious. The restaurant was one the better at Railay (try the Massaman Curry, fantastic!), however they only serve beer (no Cocktails or Long drinks). The pool area is very nice. Breakfast buffet was also ok. Good location between Phra Nang Beach and West Railay.

Lovely resort, we had one of the Tropical chalets and the rooms are immaculate and extremely spacious. The gardens the accommodation and pool is set in is so pretty and secluded with fruit trees and flowers. Wonderfully restful and away from any loud bars. The spa onsite is great too with really friendly and experienced staff. The only downside with this place is that they do not serve alcohol in the restaurant and the restaurant staff were a little moody. Breakfast was kind of weird mix, cold noodles

Wonderful, picked it on pvs good comments and is really a gem. Stayed in one of the villas, which was a dream with beautiful decor and very spacious. The garden and pool area is very pretty, the staff lovely and the spa great. The location is great on East Raley with sea views, though no sandy beach right there.

Sunrise, though a beautiful and quiet resort, is unfortunately in need of some repair considering the price. A few things with our Bungalow: broken shower + very noisy A/C (we had to move); cockroaches in both sealed bungalows; very dirty furniture & furnishings; and an ant invasion (they had to call in a fumigator - and started chipping away at the wood beams with a screwdriver!). The pool was dirty and cold. The apartments are probably a better deal. Breakfast is decent, but make sure to eat your 300B worth. Frankly, were I not here for the climbing, I m not sure why I d go to Railay. It is crowded, dirty, open sewage, food is generally poor and twice the price of the rest of Thailand, often noisy with generator, and very polluted, with 1 stroke longtail boats and open air garbage. Railay is in poor need of infrastructure and community efforts to clean up the place and make it sustainable. If you are a climber, stay on Tonsai, but don't expect the food or quality to be any better.

This is a lovely small hotel with very friendly staff and beautiful bungalows. Ours had a massive bathroom and was huge, the small pool was very tropical and comfy beds around it. The beach for sunbathing is a 5 minute walk and the breakfast was varied and had a good selection. I wouldn't really recommend eating dinner there though as there is such a good selection of restaurants further down the beach.

I have stayed at Sunrise many times over the years and seen many changes happen over time some good some not so good, let me start by saying this resort is good value for money, the villas whilst starting to age now are well maintained and usually clean inside,they are quite large and have good lay outs, there is very little difference with the villas so unless you want a shower outside the villa plus isnt worth the extra money, the villas near and behind the reception are the best as they are not near the beach walkway or near the stinking sewerage plant and deisel generator, the pool is ok but it is plastic lined not tiled, the gardens are lovely although beware of the many wild monkeys!! they steal everything, when you arrive there make sure its not late afternoon or evening as the tide is out and you may have to walk through mud and mangrove ( not great ) the beach on the east side where the resort is is discusting but there are 2 other amazing beaches very close by especialy princess cave WOW, there are many cheap eats near the resort so eat out, the breakfast has improved but its still sub standard and much better outside, there is a place right at the end of the strip called MOM S check it out not fancy food but cheap and great tastes, beware also opposite MOM S the last bar run by so called maffia types and I saw many dramas in there, all in all if you are looking for a nice place this Sunrise is worth a stay they have improved service levels and where it is is a must see for sure...safe trips to all

Комнаты в здании хорошие(в бунгало нам не понравилось-кровать на постаменте, в ванную нужно спускаться по ступенькам,кондиционер слабоват,специфический запах,возможно от дерева,хотя в общем и целом всё цивильно),достаточно просторные,кроме душа есть ванна.В номере сейф,холодильник,tv,термос,нагревающий воду.Неплохой балкон с видом на сад.Минусы:Постельное бельё за шесть дней ни разу не меняли.Полотенца меняют,как и во многих отелях Таиланда,в зависимости от того где их повесить-об этом предупреждают соответствующие надписи на английском(это не минус). Нам не повезло-когда мы приехали, в отеле сломался дизель(от которого идёт электропитание)и в течение всех дней, что мы там находились, были проблемы с электричеством-его не было каждый день по 3-4 часа,соответственно, не работал кондиционер,не было воды,что было очень не комфортно,особенно в такую жару.Персонал старался что-то сделать,но проблему так и не решили до нашего отъезда.Кроме того,при заказе обеда в ресторане отеля видно,что персонал просто не знает,что у них есть,а чего нет на кухне.Приходилось заказывать по несколько раз, и каждый раз слышать,причём не сразу,а минут через десять,sorry,вот это уже кончилось,и вот этого,к сожалению,нет.И один раз меня просто чуть не убил( в буквальном смысле):ем,это,я ем и вдруг чувствую на зубах что-то твёрдое,аккуратно выплюнул на тарелку и вижу очаровательный маленький и очень острый гвоздик... В общем,если и поеду на Краби,то в этот отель я больше не ездок.

I spent four days at the hotel. The only complaint is that during the majority of my stay the electricity and water were turned off for approximately four hours each day, late morning through mid afternoon. Hotel guests were never informed ahead of this and were never compensated. Food and service were very good and the room was delightful.

Stayed 4-11 April 09. We paid for one of the best rooms in the hotel and werent let down by the room, it was lovely. The food in the hotel wasnt great and breakfast was quite dull. Staff were reasonable. Poo smell was round the pool in one area specifically. Location was good for climbing. Would probably try another hotel next time as there is a lot of choice and we werent blown away by this one.

We stayed there 3 days. All was perfect: room, hotel placement (no beach in front of, so can feel non-crowded.) Food was good apart of lunch offer for 100 THB of papaya salad - don't pick: salad is very spicy, rice is too sticky. Great location of the hotel - you can picture sunrise just in front of the hotel on a sea front. We had a room on 2nd floor in a main building. There re villas around also. If I m back, I d definitely pick Sunrise hotel again!

This resort are very nice and very welcoming. The bungalows (two with connecting door) were very luxury and really nice with high comfort. Me and my family enjoyed every minute! The food were also excellent, both breakfast and lunch/dinner menu. If you like spicy food this is the place! Nice with the pool when it is to hot on the beach. Transfer to the airport worked perfect. We do recommend this resort to other travellers!

Overall: Decription: Nice, clean hotel with good service and staff located on a not so good beach. Location: The hotel is located on East Railay which is a really bad beach for swimmimg and bathing. West railey and Laem Prah Nang beaches are on the contrary magnificent and are 5-7 minutes of walking away. The room: We had Tropical Villa Plus which was a very nicely furnished with an outdoor shower and an overall luxurious feeling. The room also had a DVD player, flat screen, safety deposit. The AC was a bit too noisy (probably some defect), but I did not care to report this to staff since I usually sleep with cotton in my ears. Small animals like gecko lizards (totally harmless and eat bugs) and mosquitoes has little trouble to find their way into our room. Pool: OK pool that could have been better cleaned. Breakfast: Good with a lot of different warm dishes to choose from. It's more of a brunch than breakfast. Service: Kind and helpful. Negative: A nasty smell could felt in the hotel area during a few days, felt like some kind of plumbing problem. No smell inside though. Note: Everything on Railey is more expansive than on the mainland.

We spent a lot of time researching resorts and viewing reviews etc of both the west and east side of Railay before choosing Sunrise. We were very pleased with our choice, the resort was very clean, the standard of finish on the bungalows was outstanding and the layout in the landscaped grounds was great, where some of the opposition bungalows looked a bit tired and were laid out in uninteresting rows. There are many shops restaurants on this side of Railay which we found much cheaper than the west. While the west beach is far better than the east, the best beach is 5 mins stroll from both east and west and we spent most of our time there as it was better for swimming and no Longtail boats. Service was good, the breakfasts quite satisfactory. We ould recommend this resort. Longtail to Ao Nang is 100 BHT but the boats wait until they are full before leaving so you can have to wait for the boat to fill or pay more.

My partner and I stayed at Sunrise Tropical for 4 days after a very busy week in Bangkok and we loved it. The Resturant was probably the best food on Railay. Only problem being that the wait for meals was normally quite long and they hardly ever came out at the same time. The complimentary breakfast though needs improvement. The rooms were glorious! I would definately recommend the Villa Plus as the outside bathroom/shower was amazing, the room was well decorated and very large and comfortable. The staff also offered great service and were very attentive. The location was perfect. Although Sunrise Tropical is located on the bay side, it still proved to the best spot as we were in walking distance to both Phra nang beach and West Raillay beach. This Island is definately a place of serene beauty but no place for the night life. Most of the resorts do not even serve alcohol or cocktails. So if your up for a relaxing time in the sun and surf I would definately recommend both raillay and Sunrise Tropical resort.

We had a great stay at this hotel. The construction that is going on right now was hardly noticeable. We stayed in one of the Tropical Villas and it was a very nice room, very clean and big. The staff was friendly and always helped us out when we neeed it. We booked airport transfers and an excursions through the hotel and they both went off without a hitch. The pool was nice nad it was just a short walk to some very nice beaches. The only thing I wasn't impressed with was the breakfast but I guess that's standard for an automatically included buffet. Overall, I had a great time and would stay there again!

Sunrise tropical Resort is one of the best hotel in railey. It located at the eastern almost on the beach of railey but have more privacy if compare with other hotels at the western district. We booked the junior suit. It was deluxe and well equiped. I enjoy much with their private, comfort and very good looking room. The staff here is nice and helpful. This resort is situated in Railay East, but has very easy access to the beautiful Railey West! The service provided was excellent, the staff was very friendly, as we had asked for an adaptor and had some problems with the key slot at first. They provided their service very promptly. Cheaper food can be found in Ya Ya resort, another hotel along Railey East, but in general I am very satisfied with my stay here.

We cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. We had a fantastic stay in a Tropical Villa Plus and we loved it so much, we changed out plans to stay on an extra night. We had to spend the last night in a Tropical Villa, but this was great too. We thought this hotel represented good value for money. If we go back to Thailand again, we would definitely head straight over to Railay to stay here again. It was worth paying the extra cash for the Villa Plus - it was quite an experience!!

Accommodation and facilities:
Staff was very friendly and helpful. Although there were several warning against visiting during the low season (there was quite a bit of construction in progress in the area) the construction was not an issue. It rained almost daily but did not impede our plans at all. The room was all that was promised and the maids worked around our lazy morning schedule of coffee on the porch before venturing out for the daily activities.

Vi hade bokat en Tropical Villa junior och den var helt OK, sängarna som vanligt HÅRDA! Extrasängen var bättre. Ute var det massor av mygg så vi satt aldrig vid uteplatsen. Vårt resesällskap fick en villa som det verkligen stank fränt i,så ta inte B2002(tror det var den, längst upp i raden iallafall) !! Trädgården var fint planerad och roliga växter o träd som även apflockar besökte, poolen var ren o fin men det luktade ruttna ägg ibland vid ena änden. Frukosten var OK men inte mer, ofta slut på olika saker. Restaurangen hade ganska god mat men servicen var väl inte den snabbaste, tror faktiskt personalen på hela ön var rätt trött på turister i slutet på säsongen. Standen går inte att bada på men det tar 5 min att gå till västra sidan. I stort sett ett bra ställe för oss med två barn 3 och 5 år, lugnt o fint, dock inte värt mer än det kostade!

We were really happy with our stay at Sunrise Tropical resort. Great clean villas, and beautifully placed in a quiet fantastic tropical garden. Enjoyed every aftenoon when returning from the most fantastics beaches ever seen for relaxing on the front terrace in our villa. Nice staff trying their best to understand and speak english. We have promised ourself to go back. Highly recommend.

Friendly service and very nice location. Rooms good condition and well furnished. Liked Railay beach, relatively quiet hotel but other bars along beach. Food very good in restaurant, especially local dishes!Good value - I would stay again. Short Walking distance to other beach for swimming and sunbathing plus boats to islands and Ao Nang.

Thanks for a great stay and friendly staff. Great remote place that feels like you ve escaped the mass of phuket. Beautiful gardens and best of both worlds with pool and tidal marshes on one side and then a 5min walk through to the other side was a great beach. Do the walk up past where the rock climbers are to come out to another hidden beach. Really enjoyed the peach of this place and everyone seemed relaxed and good food along the beach front.If you do go get a speedboat there not the ferry. It took us 6hrs to get there by ferry and 2hrs by speedboat on way back!!!

Highly recommended. Very kind and service oriented staff. Resort and bungalow are very nice with a 10 minutes beautiful walk to the beautiful Phranang Beach which is much better than touristic Raillay west. Independently, where you stay on the Raillay Penninsula seven nights are just enough since there are limited number of restaurants, price level is 30-50% higher than anywhere else and service level at Raillay west restaurants are terrible. It´s also good to know that if you try to go to Ao Nang after sunset and back to Raillay the long tail boat charge is outrageous and difficult to get one.

This was our second stay at Sunrise Tropical Resort in the last 3 years. We love the Villa Plus Bungalows. Especially the outdoor showers. Staff and breakfast is great. Location on East Railey may not be for everyone but works well for us. Centrally located between dining on West Railey and Pranang Beach.

Beautiful villas, well maintained resort and great, friendly service. I would definitely recommend this resort, in a quiet area on Railay East, just a few minutes walk to Railay West. The restaurant served delicious meals and certainly offered the best service in Railay. Would stay here again.

Travelled for 5 weeks and this was our favourite accomodation. It was clean with all the mod cons. The buffet breakfast was also at a very high standard and the staff where very friendly and helpful.

Sunrise is absolutely the best place to stay at when you are at Railey Beach. Very good value for money compared to the other resorts at Railey. Very nice bungalows, good food, good service, nice pool. There are never a problem to get a sunbed at the pool. A very relaxing place to stay in. We would recommend this resort to everyone we know!

It's been my 3rd time to Tropical Sunrise, so I must like it there. However in high season I don't recommend going. Rooms are overpriced (rooms that are normal ones in low season are called Junior Plus and charged more even though it is the exact same room, just you dont have a shower but a bath tub). Also now they ask 50% of the room price for late check out... And our aircon did not work properly - lowest was 25 degrees. It is still a nice place, staff is very friendly and are very attentive but rather go when it is less busy.

Beautiful resort and staff are very nice. Villas are kept well clean and are very spacious. Breakfast is not what you expect at such a resort; a bit simple and poor. So is the rest of the island. Restaurants all serve the same and are not very nutricious at all. Beach on Railay West is beautiful though and compensates a lot!

very friendly staff. good food in their restaurant. its on the east side of the bay (mud side) but only a 5 min walk to the west side. Very nice rooms. All solid wood floors and a very big bedroom. Probably the nicest hotel we stayed at in Thailand. Beautiful gardens. The pool isn't olympic class but other than that a great place.

Quite a hassle to get there if you re unlucky (like we were) to arrive in boat at low tide and heavy rain.) Amazing, very spacious room with nice terace. Maybe not as private as teh tropical and herbal resort in Ao Nang, where we stayed three days before, but still one of the best! There is basically no beach on this side, but a 10 minutes walk to Prha Nang beach brings you to paradise. I would definitely recommend taking one of teh longtail boats to the islands in teh neighbourhood (chicken, bamboo, Tupa, etc..). If weather is not good, there is really not much you can do. Restaurants and bars are standard. Ao Nang has definitely more options and better quality food, but when sun is there, this is paradise. Overall we enjoyed it very much and would defintely recommend this hotel as the best in price and quality on Railay. (Hotels next door had loud generators next to room, and were mostly in the middle of being renovated.)

Wonderful bungalows! Very spacious and comfortable. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable stay there. I really want to recommend this resort. But make sure you re able to carry your bag on your shoulders, otherwise it could be hard getting there without getting wet during low tide :-)
