A lovely little resort with a lovely garden and very good food. Anna and Staffan was very nice and took good care of oss. The only disadvantage of Ekman was that the resort was not located so near the beach. It was the ca 1-2 km away and the last distance down to the beach, you had to walk on bamboo poles in a mangrove area.We were very pleased with our stay there.

Dessa människor var helt underbara. De tog emot oss med kärlek i en helt underbar miljö. Anna och Staffan som äger detta underbara ställe tog med oss ut varje dag, visade oss tempel, varuhus, stränder, marknader, batiktillverkning, matställe som thailändarna själv går till.Anna lagade den mest smakrika maten med fin uppläggning. Jag rekommenderar alla att besöka denna underbara resort. Jag har bott på många 4 stjärniga hotell, detta har fem för här finns miljön och den atmosfär man letar efter. Tack alla ni som tog hand om oss som om vi var en i familjen.

Highly recommended! We stayed one week from 21/12/2009 to 28/12/2009. We booked simple room with balcony but were upgraded at no charge on arrival. Were made very welcome by Anna and Staffan (Thai and Swedish owners on arrival). Many guests were Swedish and other Europeans. Anna is an excellent cook and the quality of meals was generally very high. Anna uses many ingredients from her own garden. Ekman Garden is a very social environment (with both owners and fellow guests). You will have the opportunity to ask Anna (who speaks very good English) your questions about Thailand and the Thai people Our upgraded room was excellent with plenty of space, fridge, safe and large bathroom. Excellent, modern, quiet air conditioning system in room. Free wireless in reception area. Good pool. Beautiful garden with tropical plants and fish ponds. Enjoyed walk to beach over bamboo bridge that owners have created Recommend a car or motorbike if possible as all places to visit are too far to walk and no public transport options here. Resort will take you to nearby attractions for a charge Not many foreigners in this area eg. Some Thai children followed us around at the supermarket as they were interested to see some farang Many days we did not see any non Thai people when we were out all day. Recommend visit to Krung Ching waterfall but it's a tough hike and there are leeches. Visit market in nearby Sichon on Fridays morning for an authentic Thai experience. Highly recommend stay at Ekman Garden Resort, but best to have own transport if staying more than 2-3 days.

Ekman Resort is a little resort, laying in a very small village. So very good for people who want to avoid a flow of activities or a crowdy envirement.In the opposite it is even very quiet. So it is not interesting for people who just want to party and/or want have activities planned for children. The resort is not directly situated at the seashore, but a walk to- and enjoying the beach is very well possible. Service in Ekman garden is very good. All people working in or for the resort are very helpfull and friendly. We had a wonderfull time in Ekman resort.

All reservations, payments etc. are quickly and good organized. There was just one little mistake in one of 4 reservations. SiameServices took action by itself to solve the little problem without questions or interference from our side. Reliable quick operating organisation.

This place is wonderful. Anna treated us as though she was our pee sow (older sister) and always made sure we were enjoying our stay, and that we were ok.. The food is wonderful, I will miss the yellow curry with bananas apples and chicken so much! Everyone is so friendly and welcoming, and it was one of my favorite places in Thailand. The rooms were great and the gardens beautiful. This place is off the tourist track and the people in the small town are just so friendly. Even though they speak little to no english, EVERYONE makes a point of waving and saying hello as you drive around the village. I can't wait to visit again. I will miss you Anna!

Being the third time at Ekman Garden Resort, it was a pleasure to see that most things was as before. It was the same beach with a Crusoe feeling of being alone at this loooong beach. It was so nice to lie under the sunroof and listen to the sea without being disturbed by anyone. And the visit to the Wat and the meeting with the monk Tangit was also so smooth and relaxing. Although there was some rain because of the rain season, I found it so nice so I decided to stay a week more than planned. Annas cooking is always so gratifying so it is hard not to stay more than planned. Especially when the weather is the same everywhere else. Although it seems unnecessary to visit a place that has more water a visit to one of the beautiful waterfalls in the neighborhood is always a good idea and especially when there is rain as it becomes more wild than usual. Finally I must say that it is absolutely not the last visit to this part of the country and certainly not to Ekman Garden Resort. Hans Morling Stockholm

This time returning after one year to Ekman Garden Resort, it was a pleasure to be greeted as an old friend by the hosts Anna and Staffan. As I had had a very hectic time at home, I really appreciated the peace and quite that they offer. The garden is exceptional and beautiful and Anna really work hard to make it a Garden Resort. It is not a place to expect a lively nightlife or a entertainment bar but going to bed early with a good book is a privilege. The staff is very friendly and becoming and the rooms are very clean and well looked after. The food is very, very good but the breakfast that is included in the price is not meant for grown up person. Not even for me who is small. But this will not stop me from coming back in the future. Words can not describe what a wonderful place Ekman Garden is. We were made to feel like family from the first moment we got there. Anna & Staffan are warm and kind people who make your stay there quite memorable. The rooms are spacious and beautiful. Every day we came back to our room and there were fresh tropical flowers arranged on the bed in an arful display. The food was outstanding and Anna makes it herself! The staff there are all incredible and attend to every detail. Most of all, it was the BEST environment for us to be in with our new little girl. We adopted from Nakhon Si Thammarat and Anna was a HUGE help to us! She knows the staff and where the orphanage was and what to do and to bring. She was able to take us to the Tesco where we could buy the supplies the orphanage needed, and she translated for us so I could get my every question answered. We are immeasurably grateful we met Anna and her wonderful family! Their charming and beautifully done hotel and gardens were such a perfect setting, too! I can not say enough about the serene gardens and hospitality of the place. A must-stay for us on every future trip to Thailand!

We enjoyed our stay at the Ekmans a very familiar hotel. It is small and lovely with lots of flowers. Stephan and Anna support you in any case finding all you need. You should go by car or Anna will rent you one. By the way, Anna is a perfect cook. The sandy beach is close and empty, bad for snorkling. So perfect to be alone. In the area you can see waterfalls, delphins and local people - less touristic. The hotel is also very good for families.

We don´t know were to begin praising this resort!! We were made feel at home from the moment we arrived! The hosts Anna and Staffan has managed to make this in to a beatiful and tranquil resort! Anna makes dinner herself and she is a great cook!!! and the drinks she makes!! To be honest we have never had such nice drinks anywhere else. The rooms are very,very nice well equiped and VERY clean!! The garden is beatiful and Anna takes great pride in it. They are now building a reception area specially with weddings in mind. It is going to absolutly beatiful. If you are looking for stay, full of peace and harmony, this is without a doubt the place to go!! Our best regards to Anna and Staffan with family!!

How lucky we were to have booked such a wonderful place - a quick note on our stay.... We were adopting a little Thai Girl from the orphanage in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Upon checking into Ekman Resort we met the owners (Stafaan and Anna) and told them what we were up to. Anna advised us that she had a little to do with the orphanage, and gave us a run-down on what we could expect for the 2 days of our visit. She also called the orphanage, and spoke to one of the staff members to confirm our arrival in the district. This was of great comfort to us, as we had very little information at this point. Anna arranged for her brother to drive us to the orphanage, and accompany us as a translator, which was very helpful. Once we returned to the resort with our little girl, Anna made her feel a part of the family,and all the other staff spoilt her rotten. We felt so at ease being there - I cant tell you what a relief it was for us as brand new parents, being in such a warm and comfortable environment. Ekman Garden Resort is a lovely small oasis in a typical semi-rural Thai village setting...no go-go bars, neon signs or loud bar music!!!! It has a wonderful relaxed family atmosphere, nothing is a problem. The grounds are nicely manicured gardens with plenty of flowers and fish pools; there is a great swimming pool, and the obligatory pool side bar. Anna and her wonderful team do the cooking - the food is outstanding! As you can probably tell, we had an excellent stay. We cant recommend this place highly enough, and will most certainly be going back to visit our new Thai friends in Nakhon Si Thammarat. Thank-you Stafaan and Anna - we feel very blessed to have met you!

Stayed at this hotel for 3 days over Christmas 2008. THIS is the resort to stay, especially for big families! Extremly cozy place and beautiful rooms and garden! Staff could not be more helpful and friendly.The owners were very helpful and gave us suggestions of what to do. They also arranged the transport from and back to Phuket. It was interesting to walk to the beach and finally there, we felt as if we were in paradise. The food was excellent! All in all a lovely place to stay. We can highly recommend this place!

Wonderful place, with bright and spacious rooms, built by the owner/architect. Flowers, fish, birds, it looks like a little paradise. The food is great, the crew is out there to pamper you. There's a nice pool, plenty of things to see in the area, and virtually no tourists. Everyone is friendly, the ocean is close (1.2km walk), and there is absolutely no one on the beach. We'll definitely be back.

If you want to visit the vanishing rural southern Thailand, with a delightful room and superb home-cooked food—stay at Ekmans ! An easy day-trip north from urban Nakornsrithammaraj and south from tourist-developed Ko Samui et al, Ekmans is a brand new small family hotel/guest houses with husband & architect Swede Stephan and Thai wife & chef Anna. The rooms are actually small buildings in themselves (with private courtyard) that open onto manicured common areas. Down a quiet ‘soi’, just outside the hotel gates, one is immediately in rural Thailand (and very safe, as many of the neighbors are Anna’s extended family). Our experience could not have been more delightful. After a day on the scooter exploring the nearby backroads and open beaches, we’d return for a shower, a dip in the pool, and about 7 o’clock sit down family-style to meals we’d ordered, and Anna and her crew had cooked, in the open-air kitchen adjacent to the dining area. Ekmans is a great place for families, for reunions/weddings, or just singles/couples wanting to stay in very new smart digs with great hosts while seeing the vanishing ‘old Thailand.’ The rates are fair and board reasonably priced, if pegged to the euro more than to the dollar. When returning after a year I find the resort as friendly and familylike as I remembered. The food is sill as fantastic. It felt like coming home. So much so it was hard restraining myself from taking the dishes out at wash it mayself. I stayed for for days first and then returned for the Song Kran. At the first visit I participated in a wedding that was arranged between a japanese girl and a thai boy and the experience was outstanding. The same can be said about the visit to the temple at Song Kran. I was treated with utmost respect and as I am a simple person that was a memory for a lifetime. Visiting a nearby beatiful waterfall it was clear that it was far from its full potential causted by lack of water, but to swim at the base was nice. On two occasions I took the 20 minute walk in the hot sun and could swim in the sea. Although the pool is nice, it can never compete with the real thing. Especially as it gives you the feeling of Robinson as you are almost totally alone. Which you cannot say of the bigger roads where you got wet as the new year was greeted with watersplashing. If I would have had time, I would probably take the chance of very cheap golf in Nakohn si Thammarath only 45 minutes away, but not this time. And as I am surely returning when my wallet permits, the occasion will arise again. Good work Ekmans

We stayed at Ekman Garden three times (5 + 3 + 2 days) under our two months long staying in Thailand.. We booked the first five days on a recommendation at the internet and we definitely not regret. Then we returned for three days and celebreted the NEW YEAR and finally we stayed for two days to relax and pick up our luggage before the journey home to Sweden. We found the resort very charming and hospitable. The atmosephere is very homely and quiet and that made us feel more like familymembers than customers. The hosts, Anna and Staffan with family and staff are very friendly and take an active interest in their guests. The rooms are high qualitative and tastefully decorated and furnished. We really enjoyed the rooms and the beautiful surroundings. And the food – delicious. Anna is an excellent cook and she surpriced us every evening with different meals, beautiful- delicious and healthy. Outside the resort, at the Thailand countryside, you don´t meet tourists, but thai people with big smiles and we find it very charming. We recommend Ekman Garden resort and we love to come back. Ekman guards the nice and friendly Paradies on ground connection. As much-many Thailand friends and I already many plants saw my wife. The Ekman Paradies was for us the most beautiful time which we in Thailand to experience was allowed. Apart of hecticness and stress. light frames friendly Bungalows from a flower sea, brook runs with beautiful fish, butterflies and birds. Nature purely. The maintained pool forms the heart of the plant. The love-worth and very friendly owners Staffan and Anna accepted us as to your family. Anna is a point cook. As a common traveller, I found the resort very charming and hospitable. It was my 8´th visit to Thailand and the hosts Staffan and Anna wellcommed me as a part of the family. The food was even better than the normal thai style. It was in a way a crossover between Thailand and Europe. Some of the thai exentric idees was gone and as I do not have a metallbin inside, I am greatful to Anna, as she took me gently into the kitchen. Tastes were fantastic. In Micheline terms: well worth a detour. As for the suroundings I did not really need to leave, but the visit to the nearby beach was pleasant and was free of all normal salespersons. And the visit to the nearby shirtshop made it possible to bring a really personal gift home to my daughter. I will shurely visit again allthough I do not know if it will be 2007 or 2008.

The service was good with a nice touch of family atmosphere, because the hotel is family driven. They were also very concerned about their guests which furthermore strengthened the atmosphere. For example: The owners and stab gives the guests much more personal attention than normally and it feels truly genuine and very nice. Finally, there is one last thing that gives Ekman Garden Resort our warmest recommendations - The food -excellent! If you are going to Thailand and that region, do not hesitate -Ekman garden is the given hotel !

A very nice and rustic place. Rooms situated in a beautiful garden with a lot of butterflies, birds and fish in the ponds. Direct surrounding is not spectaculair but gives a real taste of Thai rural live. Staffan and Nittaya thank you for your hospitality and effort to show us around.

Arriving with a gray cloud over my head (it was a long day and my luggage was misplaced by Suvarnabhumi) and only intending for the Ekman's to be a place to rest my head between the North and the south, my stay at Ekman Garden Resort actually turned out to be a very nice experience. After a delicious dinner made by Anna Ekman, and the pleasant atmosphere made by both the garden and the Ekman's wonderful hospitality, the gray clouds had parted. Being used to budgettraveling, the resort was a little more pricey than what I m used to -- but it was well worth it. While Ekman Garden Resort began as a place for friends and family to gather and visit the Sweed/Thai couple; what's special I think, is that they have retained that family atmosphere. The service is outstanding and Emma and Staffan Ekman are genuine and warm people (and the staff as well). They went out of their way to help me rectify the situation with the airport, and they even let me stay in the nicest room for the price of the cheapest room.also the couple took me into town for lunch and a little tour of the local community into which they thoroughly connected. Staffan talked with pride about his plans to continue work on his already gorgeous gardens. He also designed the lodges, which are open and allow one to breath freely but also afford privacy. After staying at Ekman Garden Resort, I left feeling thoroughly refreshed for what would be a busy week island hopping. The next time I find myself in Southern Thailand, I will definitely pay the Ekman's a visit. Thanks for everything guys! Josh
