Weer naar Phuket Orchid geweest omdat het in het laagseizoen vrij goedkoop was [dan is de prijs-kwaliteits verhouding aantrekkelijk].De kamer waarin we waren was volgens mij 2 jaar geleden [mooi] gerenoveerd.Het mooiste van P.O.is nog altijd het grandioos mooie zwembad.Personeel doet gelaten hun werk.Wi-fi kaarten zeer prijzig.Mooie ligging,50 meter van Karon beach, maar vaak hangt de rode vlag op het strand bij een beetje wind,ga dan niet de zee in want er zijn hier al verscheidene mensen verdronken. Kata beach is qua ligging beter en mooier.Met Tuk-tuk busje 200 baht[vrij prijzig vergeleken bij de rest van het land].

It was the fourth time we stayed at this hotel. The first time was in 2003. It is a nice hotel although it's getting a bit worn. Our room had a strange smell (5111). The staff was friendly, but several of them had poor English skills compared to other hotels we stayed at in Thailand. One difference from previous years is that there are a lot more Russians both at the hotel and throughout Karon beach. One night a few were allowed to bathe and make noise in the pool for several hours.

We stayed here for 4 nights, the pools were excellent and the kids had a ball but that was the extent of the positives of this hotel. There was no mini bar or tea/coffee facilities in the room and we had to pay extra money to use the safe. The rooms were run down, old and in need of a total upgrade. The hotel was infested with mosquitos and even though we took extreme measures to keep them out of the room, we found ourselves waking up every night with them buzzing around our heads. The hotel provided pool towels in the rooms, but they never got replaced because we were swimming when our room was serviced. The breakfast was cold, uninviting and in parts unhygenic due to birds flying around the salad, fruit and drinks area. Overall a very basic hotel and I would say you could get better value for money at a slightly more expensive hotel.

the hotel isn´t new but clean and very nice. the pools are super and you don´t get disturbed by traffic or other noises. The staff is nice and we would definitly go ther again.

We had a familyroom on first floor with balcony. The room was good aswell as beds. Service were perfect as well as pools. The only thing we complaint about was that it was a bit dark on the balcony because of the hedge and palmtrees.

We saw on the hotel websajt that one of the pools was going to be closed from annuel maintenance and it shoul open 1 \r\naug, BUT they didn´t open 1 aug and it was construction work going on. Our room was close to the conference hall with lots of music late and the staff draw carts(wagons)outside our room. Very noisy until after midnight. The rooms were very responsive, you could here everything going on outside the room. If you should stay there i suggest far away from the staff area and conference. hall and a room high up.

The Hotel is not new and should have some maintenance (The doors to the rooms were a bit hard to close - and NOT for small children). The doors to the balcony should be lubricated/changed. The food was good and an excellent breakfast buffet.

Overall the hotel was OK but I feel it was over priced. Everything was expensive if you look at what the surronding area was charging for the same thing, food, internet, taxi through the hotel was allot more expensive than other places. Also the service in the restaurang was horrible. I wont eat there again! Consider that this is low season and if the staff is performing this bad now I can't imagine how they will keep up in the high season.

This is a very good hotel, despite that the big pool was undergoing renovation. Our children also loved it and we all want to go back there again... The room (family) was in a good size and Quality.The beds in the room is two king size beds soo everybody was laying good. The breakfast is good and with a lot of different things to choose between. The location is perfekt with 200 meters to Karon Beach.

We have visited the hotel Phuket orchid resort for our seventh time, so may already guess we do already like the hotel which we do. Nice staff, nice rooms but the years we were there the pools were in a much better condition but now the pools quality has started detoriating since the staff is not repairing damages in the pool for two years and such as bubble pools have stopped working one after the other. Otherwise if you look past the pool i strongly recommend this hotel, the place is nice and its not too long to walk to the beach which is nice too and there are a whole lot of friendly restaurants all over the neighbouring area. We will certainly return to the hotel even more!

WITHIN ABOUT 10 MINUTES, I KNEW I HAD MADE A MISTAKE, IF YOU WANT TO RELAX IN THE POOL, THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO GO. THIS IS A FAMILY RESORT, AND THERE ARE CHILDREN EVERYWHERE. THE RESORT, FOOD AND STAFF ARE GREAT, WE STAYED ONLY 1 NIGHT. MAYBE IN THE LOW SEASON, THIS MIGHT BE A PLACE TO RELAX, BUT DURING HIGH SEASON, TOO MANY CHILDREN.

Location to the beach was fine but not on the beach...easy 2 minute walk to beach. Service at the hotel was not good. The staff was not capable of answering questions about the general area. Also, the pool bars shut down at 4:30 or 5pm during the middle of happy hour...not sure why and they had no explanation. Breakfast was OK. Room safe cost extra...not sure why other than to charge extra. pool was always full and no place to sit (during high season) so poolside seating was limited. if you have young kids (2-8 years old) than you should be ok as the resort is mainly set up for families with young kids. There are other resorts with better service in the area for similar price. If your looking for desent service (generally speaking) we were a bit disapointed!!!

For those that like a more relaxing place. This hotel will be great place, walking distance to the beach and eating place. My 3 little kid enjoy the Children Pool a lot. Only thing the room are a bit small for a family with 3 children.

Stayed here for 8 nights with hubby and two children aged 8 and 11 years. The kids loved it! Kids happy, parents happy! Fantastic pool facilities.Breakfast great, lots to choose from. Local knowledge by reception staff I found to be quite poor.Tour desk highly overpriced compared to other independant travel agents located on the same street as resort. My advice shop around.Local restaurants great. Kata only 10 min walk from resort, with more great restaurants.Karon very quite compared to Patong.Shopping not that great. If rest and relaxation is your main aim then this is the place for you. If you want lots of variety in shopping , dining , and a great swimmimg beach ,then Patong is where you should be. Can't fault the resort, but by choice would rather stay in Patong for our next visit.

Excellent hotel with great pool-area, especially if you travel with children. We stayed 2 adults & 3 children in a familyroom which was a bit crowded but ok. Only downside is that it felt like you were in kanarieöarna, all the vendors around the hotel and even at karon marketplace are very agressive in their hunt for customers. If they only left people alone they would have better business... Will not go back to Phuket again, it´s too exploited and does not feel like Thailand anymore.

This was the 6th time we visited this hotel and we really like the pool area. But this year we could see that some parts of the hotel was going apart, such as the pool which need some serious maintenence (and some cleaning of the pool wouldnt hurt). The rooms where clean and good, but the beds are pretty hard so it gets hard trying to sleep. But the beds doesnt stop us from going there again.

The hotel personnel was very friendly. My room was clean and fine. I wished the safe would be included in the price and not charged extra. Pool area was very nice, however the water was too warm for me (ne real refresh). The food was fine and professionally organized. I enjoed the stay :-)

We loved the hotel. We stayed in a jazzuci room, with two kids. The liked to have a playtime in the jazzuci in the afternoons. The staff was very friendly, specially to the kids. The hotel is situated just some minutes walk from the beach, at a quiet area, without traffic. Next time to Karon we will for sure stay at The old Phuket .

A very nice hotel to spend your holiday with your kids. The 3 beautifull pools are very nice, also for the little kids. The food is also very good. The breakfast is available till 10.00 and that is to early, I think. But the beds in the rooms are very hard, so you must go on a early breakfast!
