I ve booked poppa palace through sawasdee.com, with a strong review I ve stayed in the hotel from 30.11.2010 till 5.12.2010. It was Marvellous. I ve requested for two bedroom with interconnecting door and the room was spacious, clean and cozy. The breakfast was great with variety of food. Swimming pool was gorgeous and my children enjoyed it very much. Location wise... perfect! Near to all amenities , shopping complex (Jungceylon), nite bazaar, laundry etc.. etc.. It's a perfect place for family & couple. Indeed it's a luxurious place with a reasonable price!Will definitely comeback!

found poppa palace to be an exelent choice spotles big rooms very comfy beds great staff wonderfull wet room type bathroom ,only problem for us was the lack of a proper bar.seemed to be open only a few hours a day,though there is a little bar cum restuerant just across the road ,good food cheap drinks great hotel if you just need an exelent room .good breakfast.think if they had a bar and snack bar the hotel would be even better, but i have no complaints at all,thanks to all staff who made our stay memorable.by the way we stayed at the meridien for a few days as well, and found the rooms at poppas just as comfy ,and the bathrooms better

A good mid priced hotel that we have stayed in four times so far and would recomend. It is very central and gives easy access to both Patong beach and centre. Rooms are good sized - go for the deluxe and ask for a shower(not a bath which has an overbath shower set at Thai height - which means the shower head comes up to my shoulders!) Staff are very helpful and attentive but western communication is sometimes difficult. Free parking for anyone renting a car. Problems usually sorted quickly. Downsides: breakfast - huge selection of everything you could want but quality and presentation is very poor and well worth missing!!! Pool/hot tubs - check before you enter - they were in desparate need of cleaning and given that nobody stops clients taking glasses into the pool area, I am sure there could be broken glass in there - certainly the pool area turned into a private party area on two night for some very eastern european guest as they thought it was for their exclusive use.

Fantastic little hotel - great service - very clean rooms & most staff were very friendly & happy to meet any special requests. Very quiet - close to Bangla & night life, but with no noise in the actual rooms/resort. Pools more than adequate for low season, but may be a little crowded in high season. Only real negative was the breakfast selection - pancakes/hashbrowns/fried fruit/etc are all kept at room temperature only, where they should be kept warm. Otherwise 100% happy with everything that the resort offered.

Poppa Palace was placed strategically in a sense that it's only 3 mins away to the beach and it's right smack in the shopping road of Phuket so you don't have to spend lots of baht to ride taxis to get you to places. A couple of walks more will get you to the Bang La road, which is the red light district of Phuket. If you re travelling for a couple of days only this is the best place to stay because of convenience. Service wise, for a 3 star hotel, it exceeds expectations because the people are very hospitable.

I stayed at the Poppa Palace for 6 nights and can highly recommend, from the time i checked in to the time i checked out i did not have a problem,the Staff were very friendly and helpful,the breakfast was good and the pools were also okay, the position was perfect, although close to Bangla rd, it was quiet at night time. My wife and i arrived late after a long flight ,the lady at the reception was rude and could not care less about our welcoming ,not like other Thai hotels that i have stayed at. Mycket bra läge och väldigt centralt,5 min till stranden och 5 min till centrum.Även om det är centralt så är det lugnt,2 st fina pooler. Rena och fina rum med trevlig personal,frukosten var helt ok.Finns en liten kvartersrestaurang precis utanför(inte den stora vita nyöppnade som ligger mittemot) som har den godaste maten i hela thailand,,,ex 3 middagar med 2öl och en cola 375 bath.Skulle jag stanna på Poppa Palace igen,,,absolut!!

Poppa palace is a hotel in an excellent location. Its situated close to everything but in a back street so that you have peace at night. The room cleaning was not spectacular but acceptable. I did have to request on a couple of occassions for the bathroom basin to be cleaned as they did not clean it. The staff at front desk were ok. Mr Kong was excellent. If it were not for him things would not get done.He did the utmost to ensure our stay was comfortable. He is a gem and a valuable asset to the hotel. We reported a blocked shower pipe the first time to front desk & the problem remained but once we mentioned it to Mr Kong it was fixed within a few hours. We booked taxis & tours through Mr Kong problem free. There is a wonderful massage place directly across from the hotel(Thai Massage). Very professional & wonderful settings. Not like the usual sleezy massage places you find in thailand.Well done to the owner. Also a great hair salon (keeta hair salon) is directly across the hotel so you have great amenities at your door step.Hotel is also close to Patong beach. Its only about a 5min walk away. See Mr Yum Yum for any water sports activities. He is a very honest & professional man always happy & genuine. For a great restaurant go to Mr Goods Seafood Restaurant which is about a 7 min walk from Poppa Palace situated on main road or for something a little cheaper go to Patong corner restaurant which is a a 1min walk across from Poppa palace. Breakfast at Poppa Palace was good. There was always plenty of food available apart from the fruit that was eaten very quickly & not replenished. Good selection available but more variety would be nice as they tended to have the same types of food every day & only a few new dishes served.

I would highly reccommend Poppa Palace to travellers if you are looking for good clean reasonably priced accom. We were a family of five with children aged 11, 8 & 7 and we were all happy with our stay and would book again. The staff were superb with the kids and we all felt sad to say goodbye. The pool had a few broken tiles which the kids needed to be wary of but I believe that these will be fixed as they are soon to open a new section of the hotel & new pool soon.

This hotel was perfect for what we wanted, close to the beach and Bangla Road, clean, air conditioned and exremely helpful staff. Depiste the resort being close to everything it is far enough away to not be to noisy. There are some buidling works going on either side of the hotel which will bve finished fairly soon but this did not effect our stay. I would recommend this hotel as good value for money.

I only stayed in this hotel one night, but I wish I stayed longer! It was very reasonable for the price, nice spotless room, nice pool area, fantastic location with a 3 minute walk to the beach, in a good little area with a few nice restaurants, ladies to do your laundry and an excellent massage place directly across from the hotel! I have stayed in much more expensive hotels than this in patong, and yes they have a few more facilities and a bigger breakfast, but for these low rates, with such good service and location, you can't go past poppa palace!

This hotel was cousey and comfortable. The deluxe room has a big fridge with nice price on minibar. Nice personal and breakfast. If you ask you can take with you a box for breakfast the next day if you go very early. The pool didn't temped us but was probably ok. Since the hotel is in the middle between the two big roads, the taxidrivers can have a hard time to find (it's good to know when to turn). Thanks to this, it's very quite! But other guests can easy desterb from the hallway. Although Patong wasn't our cup of tea, too much people and tourists. We went to Kamala and Kata that was really nice and taxi good price. If you are tired of thai-food there is Mc Donalds and Burger King and big shoping center with western food 7 min away by foot.

Great value Hotel in a fantastic location between Patong beach and Paradise Complex. This is our 3rd stay at Poppa Palace and still remains a fab hotel with exceptionally good room rates. Reception staff seem friendlier and much more welcoming this year,rooms are clean and of a good standard - although tiles in bathroom need re-grouting as they are beginning to look a little tired and a little grubby.Nevertheless, fabulous accom with an excellent breakfast included and made by boy who is a great guy and an assett to the Hotel. Overall another value for money stay in a clean comfortable hotel that just needs a little updating and refreshing.

Only inconvenience was that we ordered a queen bed,however got 2 singles pushed together to make a large King with a gap up the centre. Overall a very nice place to stay

Fantastic - right in the middle of town but far enough away to get a good night sleep. Would recommend to go to the beach instead of the pool as there is not much sun on the pool if working on your tan. The room was spotless, the bathroom was so clean - best shower i had in thailand, breakfast pretty average but it is the same everywhere, the staff were fantatstic. Stay here - such a quaint boutique hotel

There are a baffling number of hotels in Patong , and I consider myself fortunate to have booked here , at Poppa Palace , a small boutique hotel. It is only 5 minutes walk from beach road , paradise complex and Bangla road . Inspite of its proximity to the centre of activity it is very peaceful .The room was well equipped and cosy . The breakfast was sumptuous with a large variety to choose from .The staff is very friendly and can do better if they learn english .I will definitely recommend it to all and will stay here in my next visit .

I booked a room at Poppa Palace, purely based on the reviews on this site and overall, it is a hotel I would definately recommend. The hotel is on a small, quiet side street, only a few minutes walk from Bangla Road; the entertainment district. The hotel appears to be a recent build property with clean, spacious rooms and tastefull decor. Hotel staff were all very friendly and approachable. During my stay, there was a minor problem with the bathroom water turning muddy brown at one stage, but this was quickly resolved within the hour. I would definately book at this hotel again.

Positives - A delightful place where everything was nearby - the activities of Bang-La Road, the beach, and both main roads. Yet very quiet (as noted by previous reviewers) considering it was smack in the middle of everything. The rooms were very comfortable. Negatives - Generally the receptionists had lemon faces. But the service staff (breakfast and cleaning) were very friendly. Cable TV had a very wide language variety, but no sports or movies. Bring many books.

Location of the hotel is great. Walking distance to Patong Beach, Bangla Street and Paradise Complex. Pool is a bit small but accomodating. Very good hotel. Located of the main road, nice & quiet,yet only 10mins from bangla street & all the nightlife. Only 5mins from beach via a little alley shortcut. Hotel is quite new, so everything is modern, Great bathroom & shower. Small hotel thats well layed out with a small pool thats big enough to cool down in. Breakfast ok. Staff freindly & fun. There is another hotel being built next door, but not a problem. A 500bht charge was mentioned for night guest, but staff dont allways enforce it. So to sum up, we would stay again no problems, id rate it 9/10.

FANTASTIC!!! If you are staying in Patong, you must stay here. It is pretty cheap compared to the equivelant hotels in patong, very close to the main strip Bangla Road and the beach. The staff were great, very happy, curteous and helpful. The older lady at reception is learning english and seemed a bit cold to start but we spoke to her and she is lovely. I encourage you to take some time to speak to the thai people, they make a huge effort. The pool was nice, room was clean, breakfast was adequate. Mozzies around the internet were bad. This place looks like it was knocked down in the tsunami and has been rebuilt. It is NEW and looks exactly as the photos show. I recommend you stay here if you are going to patong. I would definitely stay again. Number 6 restaraunt around the corner is cheap and very good food.

This is a new hotel, it´s our 4:th hotell in Patong. Clean, various and fresh breakfast allso quiet, if something is noisy it´s our self (falang/tourist). The rooms faces north and south so if you lean out from balkony you can see the sea. Only 3 min walk to beach(dirty small trail) or bank road. Staff wery friendly except one ignorant eldery girl in reception.All messages to reception we got 2-3 days late.The pool is so near the hotell so half mostly in shadow. Alldough we liked hotell much and the prise was very good. We miss some of the friendly staff in the reception and the pancake chef in the breakfast. Janne & CO/Åland/Finland
