Samed Cliff Resort is apart from driving from Bangkok to Ban-Phe just about 2.5 hour, The Bus departs every hour from Bangkok start from 5.00 am until 8.30 pm and from Ban-Phe, The bus will also leave every hour from Bus Station Terminal 1. Then reaching to Samed Island is not that difficult by ferries there are many pier that will service you to the island.
Satisfied your own luxurious bungalows with mountain greenery, a clear blue sky, a refreshing cool sea breeze, sparking Turquoise Ocean and fine, white sandy beaches and blue of the sky from golden sunrise to red sunset feel your stress melt away. Resort mentioned that it is the place where one feels closest to Nature, away form the madding crowd, traffic and all human activities.

Having read the other reviews I can see that at least on one point something has approved - the breakfast now includes some fruit in addition to the Nescafe and toast. These bungalows are seriously overpriced. I would expect this standard for about a 1.200 baht per night for the deluxe superior beachview room. If you pay more then expect to be disappointed. Service was on the other hand very good the first days we stayed (when the managers where present). During that time the staff was very nice, presenting towels after bath, babysitting our youngest daughter etc without us having to ask them. To be honest this was the only thin that made us stay and not go home. After three days the friendly staff left. Now, the service was the worst I have ever seen, noone was doing anything. We left the hotel half a day after the friendly staff left. We were not the only family that left the hotel before booked dates I can say. If you are a young couple on a romantic trip and do not wish to be disturbed thismight be a good place as long as you don't pay overprice.

WRONG PLACE TO STAY: You can find a better room with DVD player and coffee in room and the rest of what you d expect for a third of the price in any numbr of places locally - and not so far out of town. The pictures are misleading - while clean these rooms offer nothing except a fridge. The staff are slovely and unwilling to help you. They will NEVER smile. They grudgingly listen to requests and then do not fulfill them. The food is diabolically bad. The free breakfast is a joke and stunningly ends at 930am. Idiotic to say the least. Checking in provides you two pieces of information: one, keeeps your shoes indoors or someone will steal them, and cough up 1000bt deposit for a 20bt key - lose it and pay dearly. The towels are thin and inadequate. There is no wifi in the room at all. The TV offers four Thai channels and nothing in any other language. It is about ten years old, small, and running on antennae - no cable here! We feel ripped off. The cancellation policy means we are stuck here: there's no chance of checking out early and getting our money back. Taxi to town (about 2.5km away) is 150bt. You'll need a bike or ATV rental to stay here or you'll be at the whim of the local truck taxis. Seeking information from the front desk (it closes at 8pm!) is like trying to extract gold from seawater - impossible. They simply do not care about your happiness. This isn't a hotel, it's a hustle. Our poorest travel booking in ages. Stay away all.

If you expect wifi in your room and cable tv this is not the resort for you. You can rent a motorbike and travel the island from here but you should be somewhat of an experienced biker. I was expecting a great wifi connection but could get very little in the room or on the deck. Check out was a bit early..11:30..and they were right there to move you out. One more hour and charge for a full day. Breakfast was not a buffet but American or Thai soup. Staff spoke little English except for the delightful manager. But staff was great other than the English.

The beach may have been quiet, however it was tiny and had nothing on the main beaches on the island. Although the rooms and bathrooms are clean, the rooms we stayed in did not have a phone for room service, because of which we had to climb down almost 40 stairs everytime we wanted anything. We were booked into a mini suite which was on the 4th floor. It's not a great feeling to be running up and down specially when you are on a holiday, and where the intention is to be pampered. The breaksfast timings were from 7.30-9.30, which i felt was rather weird cause not many ppl like to get up early on their holiday, just to eat breakfast (which btw included only eggs and toasts). Unfortunately, I don't see myself staying in Samed Cliff resort ever again and neither do I see my self recommending this to anyone. If you are in for a relaxing holiday, this is not the best place to stay in.

The beach in the northern part of Koh Samet in not very nice compared to others on the island. Smell of gasoline from the pier :-(. There were small animals, like very small ants inside the bungalow, and it had no charm. But, ok standard and view from mine. Only Thai channels on the televison :-(. A very simple breakfast was served and the restaurant was not very nice. If your demands are low it is a ok stay, but I did not enjoy the hotel. I recommend the beach Ao Prao on the west side for very nice sunsets and an awesome atmosphere instead. The resaurant Buzz in particular, nice lounge sofas and slow Bossanovapop music. Or stay at Haad Saikew beach (more crowded though)! The island has very bad roads but it´s a very short distance between the different beaches.

This hotel is overpriced! Bad location away from all the nice beaches. The private beach is small and surrounded by fishingboats which isn´t very nice. The rooms are poorly planned, breakfast not nearly as good as most other thai hotels in this pricerange. We asked twice for an extra matress for the extra bed but never got any! Our daughter could hardly sleep because of this. Will never recommend, or ever book again.

The hotel was quite nicely laid out and the bedrooms were very large. However, the sitting room was small with gigantic chairs in it. There were no room facilities for coffee and tea. We were provided with an urn and then a jug of sorts. The breakfast was adequate but lacked variety. The beds were large but the sheets had grains of sand on them. We enjoyed the quiet outlook and the ability to travel to the Main Beach. There was no cable tv channels and we dont understand Thai.

The resort's pool and beach area were under construction - bit noisy all day. The beach is rather smallish. Far away from main beach (+- 3 km), so motorbike rental is a must. Staff speaks very little English. Altogether there are better choices on the island for similar price. Restaurant was surprisingly good and fair priced although breakfast was boring.

There was some confusion witch room is VIP Front and witch is not. The web page doesn't differentiate them clearly enough.

Samed Cliff Resort
Accommodation and facilities:
We stayed in the Samet Cliff Resort for 3 days. The rooms were basic with the main essentials but very clean. The bungalows looked out onto the sea with some great views,if you are looking for peace and quiet this is the place to stay.

Samed Cliff Resort
Accommodation and facilities:
I am sorry to say that Samet Cliff Resort was extremly expensive and we did not get much for the money. It was dirty and lots of garbidge all over the hotel area. We don´t ask for much only a clean hotel ans nice staff but... NO! 12 500 b for three nights... not worth the money! Breakfast was not nice either. We had a great time and other wonderful places we stayed at but we can not recomend Samet Cliff Resort.
