Accommodation and facilities:
Beautiful place, stunning scenery. We were in a cliff view room, ideal as half way between reception and restaurant and by the pool (which is lovely!) It is far from the other resorts so you rely on their restaurant (prices aren't exaggerated and reasonable quality) but the scenery more than makes up for it. Bathroom half outside, you might get visitors, I came face to face with a small bat in the middle of the night, but then you are in the jungle.. Very helpful staff.

Not the worst hotel i have stayed in or the best, the first room offered had neither duvet, mosquito net or mirrors not that i am vain, also a distinct shortage of lighting for reading!!One would need to be fairly fit as it is built on the side of a hill, with a dirty pool. Breakfast not very good dinner menu average, would i stay there again NO,would i reccommend it NO.

Great place, not sure how it compared to others near by, but we were very happy. Not 4 star, but staff was friendly. Food was good if you ordered off the menu but breakfast lacking some. Room was not perfect but the view made up for it! And it is worth it to go for a 2hr. traditional thai massage.

While the hotel's location offers spectacular scenery (at the base of a towering cliff), we were disppointed with the room quality given the higher price than other hotels located nearby. The mattress was hard, and while the open air shower and toilet were a novelty, sharing them with geckos was less so. We were not expecting open-air toilet/shower in the room type we had booked (Clifftop View)

The Cliff & River jungle resort is located in a truly breathtaking spot and is a beautiful resort with lovely bungalows. The price you pay for this stunning location is that it is somewhat cut-off. Having your own means of transport would give you the freedom to explore Khao Sok yourselves, so I would recommend this if possible.

We were blown away by the incredible natural beauty of this resort. The mountains, the mist, the trees, the river..all so magical. The rooms are simple but clean and comfortable. All four of us agreed that the Thai massages were the best we d had yet. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast needs improvement.

It has to said that its VERY basic but then for the price we paid we had a good time. The rooms are positioned well (although there alot of steps!) and its quite magical waking up in the morning to the swirling mists. The beds were hard - really hard! and the accomodation basic but adequate - a quick swill down of the bathroom usually removed most of the insects! But it was what we expected and it was good to stay near the national park where we went elephant riding, canoeing and hiking. All in all we had a good time

The resort was exactly as advertised. Scenery spectacular and location stunning. Not suitable for those only used to 5* hotel pampering and luxury! mattresses like rocks and bed linen interesting and practically non existent. Bathroom facilities Japanese garden style and hence open to the skies. Privacy hard to come by. Very long drive not helped by inadequate road signage and signs to the resort itself.

Beutiful surrounding - the nicely decorated cabanas have a breathtaking view to the cliffs. Nice little pool and very friendly manager. But the staff does not speak nor understand a word in english and the breakfast is very poor - cold scrumbled egg and no fruits at all. We stayed there for 3 nights. If we would stay again in Khao Sok we probably would look for another hotel?

Lovely hotel, located in an amazing countryside. Comfprtable and big bungalows with large terrace. Toilet and shower with an open air view. From the pool you have a magnificent view over the landscape. Friendly stuff, especially the manager makes everything possible for you. He organises further transport, although in our case we were set off before our destination because they refused to pay the ferry which was promised and had to go on our selves. Food in the restaurant is good but due to the stuffs poor english you often do not get what you ordered. Breakfast is ok, when there are many guests they have a buffet, but the focus is on asian style breakfast. We can recommand this place and had a great time there.

We stayed for 4 nights in January during a 5 week holiday in SE Asia and this was one of our favourite and cheapest places. Khao Sok is very beautiful. This resort is situated about 10 minutes (by car) from the main entrance of the National Park. We had a hire car so this was no problem. It is simple and tasteful accommodation with spectacular views of the mountains. It is a very peaceful and serene venue which we just adored. The gardens are beautiful and the staff extremely friendly. Breakfast is a very simple affair but served our needs. We ate dinner most nights at the very little village near the entrance to the National Park. This village is purpose built for tourists but has a really nice atmosphere. There are a few mini marts, several inexpensive restaurants and tour companies. There are also a few resorts there however, we were very happy to return to the idyllic peace and quiet of our little resort a at the end of each day. We highly recommend this venue!
Reservation service:
As always no problem. However we are feeling very reluctant about prepaying the entire accommodation costs so far in advance in future.

What a great place to be! The Resort is a charming village in a grand landscape. Rooms are with AC as well as Moskito Nets, which we didn´t really need, even though there´s a river right along the rooms and restaurant. Best part of the room: An outdoor shower under Palmtrees! Not such a good part: the beds are more than hard ... for those who prefer normal conditions! The Resort is what you would call in the middle of no-where but food was good and fresh, and UI at the reception will enable you to book many excursions to the National Park and surroundings. We can only recomend to book for at least 3 nights, as there is so much to see and do! And not to forget the perfect spa offerings in the Resort! Like paradise!

Despite slight uncertainty in our travel arrangements getting to the hotel (all entirely our fault!) we were safely deposited at the door around 8pm by a mini-bus driver from Surat Thani. The hotel staff were expecting us, were accommodating of our need to eat and explained the general routine and facilities of the hotel. We awoke to the most phenomenol view of the cliff and surrounding fauna. Absolutely breathtaking! The room was simple but very clean, the air con was brand new and the views from the toilet and shower were great! If you can accept that there is limited choice than to book services through the hotel and remember there isn't any ATM / card transaction facilities, you can have a really wonderful stay here. Beware the steep steps from reception to the restaurant though! They clearly don't expect people to stay for long as they seem used to Thai tourists coming for weekend excursions. However, our four nights were easily filled with pool-side relaxation, bird-watching, a massage and only a couple of additional excursions. You don't need to cram it all in in a rush. The hotelier was exceedingly helpful, efficient and adept at juggling everything to ensure you could do what you wanted to without spending the maximum price. Khao Sok National Park was beautiful and there was a great deal more we could have seen. If we return to Thailand, we will return to the Cliff and River. If you are not expecting the Ritz but want a good hotel experience and enjoy being away from too many western tourists, we would recommend this resort.

Cliff and River is an absolute gem. We stayed 3 nights and could have stayed longer. Their excursions were fairly priced and the food in their restaurant was excellent. My husband had a good experience with the spa. Beds are new, but very hard. The resort should add some thick mattress pads, for both padding and protection of their mattresses.

The resort is superb, with very nice rooms and facilities. the pool especially was a delight. Be aware that the resort is sites on the side of a hill so it is a steep walk from the restaurent and lower cabins up to the pool and the reception area - no problem for all but the most infirm. Lighting in the rooms is not great so you will need a torch if you want to read in bed. Although it is very easy to spend all day at the resort, if youwant to get to the National Park it is about 15km away so you will need your own transport or the resort will arrange transfers. The breakfast buffet is very good. Note that they have no credit card facilities and so make sure you have enough cash on checkout to cover meals and drink expenses. Recommended A++

A very lovely spot and highly recommanded if you like romantic rooms (the light-pulbs are of very poor light, especially if you like to read at night or during a rainy day). But really everything else we liked much more as at other hotels. Food was really good, quick and cheap! Spotless clean and green place, where everybody likes to take photographs of butterflies, beetles and flowers in the large garden.

We spent 2 nights at this breathtaking and peaceful location. The service was outstanding, the hotel manager and the head waiter spoke very good english, and all staff were polite and very helpful. The rooms were beautifully appointed, with a lovely back to nature feel about them and they have either a large balcony like ours or a large terrace which overlooks the mountains and jungle. We awoke to the sound of gibbons and other monkey species, as well as birds each morning. The restaurant served very good food and there was plenty of choice on the menu of thai and western meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner). The staff were also flexible about making up items which weren't on the menu to suit guests tastes/diet requirements. The resort is about 10km from the park entrance, which adds to the sense of solitude and peace. We had a rental car, but the manager is happy to arrange any tours, treks or transportation you might need. Overall, Cliff and River Resort was a very special part of our stay in Thailand, I would highly recommend this resort for couples or families (we had our 4 children with us and they loved it). We would certainly come back to this resort when next in Thailand!

Beautiful location, lovely bungalows. Service was excellent and the staff were very friendly. A little remote from Khao Sok National Park but the hotel organised transport for a small sum so it was no problem. Food was good, although not so spicey. Lack of written information on activities in the area so make sure you know in advance what you want to do. The hotel manager will organize everything for you. Highly recommended.

A very beautiful setting. Each unit is self-contained with a/c, h/c running water, refrigerator and lanai. Don't expect a fully-stocked mini bar, hair-dryer, etc., but that's fine. The resort is about 17km from park headquarters. The manager was very, very helpful in aranging tours, providing transportation and following up on our requests. He wanted guests to fully enjoy their stay. The staff was great. I would definately recommend this resort to friends and would stay here again.

This is just paradise, this resort has been done perfectly. We caught a local bus from Phuket and a local taxi from town all up close to three hours travel, but can I say it is well worth it. The resort is about one year old so not everyone knows it is there yet, so make sure you have your directions handy. We where greeted by the manager on arrival and shown around, this is when the jaw drops! perfect, you want limestone mountains, you want jungle, you want a real Thai resort, make sure you go there. The villas that you stay in have there own balcony, from there you feel like you are at the top of the world looking down, the rooms are clean and presented well, you have outside private showers and toilets which, well it feels like your getting back to nature in comfort. The restaurant is amazing the building well all the builings are made of wood with thatch roofs, built like they are 100 years old you have breakfast lunch and dinner next to a beautiful stream and the staff are lovely. My stay was made even better with a well spoken resort manager, he did everything from greeting, to taking your bags to your room, to advising you what is great on the menu that night, this place is a must to see, if you want to relax, canoe, mountain trek etc this is the place to do it, I have been coming to Thailand for 15 years, and this is the most exciting place Ive been to. Great on the pocket, great for the eyes, will stay in your heart forever. As the manager said to me when I arrived, welome home Mr Hall.
