Avoid this hotel. They refused to give us double room which I booked saying they dont have room ready and information was late from SiameServices. They offered a really filthy double room on lower floor which we refused. Had to content with a twin room. Very poor quality room. We booked airport drop a day before and in the morning found they have not informed travel agent to place vehicle adequate for the number of guest. Kept on saying vehicle will come but when nothing turned up for 40 minutes we threatened them that we will charge hotel for missed flight. Then they arranged own Hotel van which should have been done earlier. We were last to reach on flight and could have missed. Breakfast is avaoidable. Look for other options if you have to stay in Surat Thani.

Our stay at the Wang Tai was uneventful. It looks, however, as if they are moving away from catering for tourists and more for the local, Thai population. The people in reception speak almost no English making clarification of even the smallest problem very, very difficult. Prior to arrival I wrote the hotel an email addressed to the email address listed on the web site. They did not reply as it seems they have changed the address just not the one on the web site Rooms very lived in but clean and OK. Food, OK, fresh, good selection.

arrived at hotel from surat airport on (packed)panthip bus. they have a monopoly here and have just raised bus fares from 70 to 100B. chose this hotel for location closest to pier - 1km. supposed to be 2nd best in surat after diamond hotel but bad reviews there. was happy with room clean, nice, rooms comfortable, helpful staff. no complaints and cheap at 870B wifi is extra charge 100B. hoped to take hi-speed ferry from surat bandon pier 1.5 km but no longer operating. seatram ferry office is 1.5 km on main road 20B by songtaew. from there u can go to donsat pier then ferry to samui. many restaurants along river 1 km. 7-11 1km on main road. nice niteclub across the river.

You only choose this hotel if you have to stay in Surat Thani. Our flight from Bangkok has late arrival and there were no boat-connection from Don Sak at that time. The hotel is realy worn out but staff are trying hard to meet your expectations. Expecially the Bell-boy was very helpful. But look at the price per night! In the restaurant you will find autentic Thai-food at reasonbile prices.

Excellent choice for travelers in transit to/from Koh Samui from Surrathani airport. Arriving late at night in Surrathani, this hotel was easy to reach with the shuttle buses that pick up at airport. Bus dropped us off at hotel, and picked us up the next morning en route to Koh Samui. Hotel has decent restaurant and friendly staff. Room was very clean and comfortable. Hotel is recommended for Surrathani transit.

OK so this is a little dated as far as decor goes but the room was huge and very clean and the power shower was the best we came across on our 4 week tour of Thailand. The bed was reasonably comfy and overall very peaceful place to sleep. The pool looked good but as we were only one night staying for a transfer through the airport we didn't get enough time to use it. We found the food in the restaurant to be disappointing although the atmosphere was nice. The hotel staff were extremely helpful and professional and the value for money was fantastic. Transfer time by car to Surat Thani airport will take 25 mins early morning/clear road, probably around 45 mins during the day. Would definately use the hotel again if re-visiting Surat Thani.

The hotel and rooms generally are clean and breakfast was included for the 900+ baht that I paid for. Transportation to Donsak for the Koh Samui ferry was easily arranged through the receptionist as well, who spoke fluent English. As Suratthani was merely a stop for me to Koh Samui I did not have a chance to use the facilities (and comment on them), however.

comparing the price and what you get, it is o.k.! But be aware: the best is the outer facade and the lobby, inside the rooms in 2nd floor and the restaurant have very much used furnature and it looks not really clean. The breakfest buffet is most likely asia food, but not the best one I have seen. To stay there for a night is o.k., but I can not recommend it for extended stays. The Tuktuk taxis are low cost and so you might go to the city easily.
