AN EXCELLENT HOTEL. GREAT VIEW OF MEKONG AND LAOS. RESTAURANT SERVICE EXCELLENT. FOOD VERY GOOD. SWIMMING POOL NEEDS BETTER WATER TREATMENT. GARDENS VERY BEAUTIFUL. Very scenic relaxing for a couple of days,good quality buffet breakfast.nice swimming pool,rooms ok,wifi doesnt work. The food in the resturant is of a good standard,however there is a 17% service change ontop which makes it quite expensive,plus the staff still expect a tip.there is a small town,khongjiam about 4km away,it takes about 25 mins walk,there are a few shops and food stalls,plus a couple of bars selling beer cheaper than the 160bt the resort charge,a taxi back to the resort costs 80 bt,the resort has bicycles for hire,but they wanted 100bt per hour,we later found out the receptionists didnt want us to use them as the staff like to use them to get around the locality.reception staff could use a customer care course.

The resort was everything we had hoped for and more. Peaceful, beautiful grounds and superb staff. The owner should be very proud of all his staff as they are so conscientious, hardworking and friendly. Even though the English skills of most of the staff are not perfect they work so hard to please that really it doesn't matter. What does matter is the quality of the staff, of which I cannot say enough. Thank you. Our favourite things about the resort were the staff, having dinner outdoors overlooking the Mekong enjoying the perfect peace, the beautiful swimming pool and the view from our room. The place is isolated (which we were looking for) and is about 1 1/2 hours from the airport in Ubon Ratchathani. It is close to some interesting sites such as the 4000 hole area along the Mekong, waterfalls, the first place the sun rises in Thailand (being it's eastern most point), national parks, plantations of rubber and cashews etc, and is close to a border crossing into Laos among other things. It is a great way to see rural Thailand. The town close by is very low key and has a beautiful temple. Some things of course can always be improved. Some suggestions would be to have a tour desk where people can be available to sell tours to the guests. I know you offered some tours etc but a special desk just for this would be beneficial and is what most resorts have. To have someone giving information about the tours and selling them would improve your bottom line for sure. Also, some additions to your menu with some lighter afternoon snacks on offer. For example, pizza, more choices of sandwiches and perhaps the addition of tonic water and soda water to your drinks menu etc. would be great for enjoying the afternoon around the pool. The spa was great and the quality of the massages were excellent. I would have liked a two hour Thai massage to be offered however. Our room was a deluxe riverview and it was so lovely. The view, the cleanliness of the room and the amenities such as tea/coffee/ toiletries etc were much appreciated. The complimentary internet service was great too. (we had a problem at times connecting to the internet in our room but we could always take our laptop to the lobby for better service) Thanks for 4 days of splendid service. A job well done.

Beautiful hotel in a lovely setting. While a bit expensive for Thailand, the restaurant was excellent including the best breakfast buffet we saw in 3-weeks of traveling around Thailand. We were very satisfied with spa services as well.

The room is very clean and neat. Resort's crew is friendly and hospitality. Location is perfect. Breakest is plentiful and tasty. I also like resort's garden because there are fragrant plants. The sweet odour lift my spirit up. I think Tohsang Khongjiam Resort is very impressive and perfect for relaxation.

Rooms are well decorated and clean. Food is good but price high with VAT service. Pool is good too for all the family. The view on the Mekong is peacefull. Three kms away for Khong Chiem but with a car it's fine. Staff is nice. No flyers, tourist informations existing.

Very nice hotel in Ubon Ratchathani province, i call it Isaan beach... Everything is ok with the hotel and also friendly staff, but i think too pricey for Isaan, the food in the restaurant too. 1600 Baht per night instead of 2200 Baht would be fair and i think Thosang would have more customers if that was the case. I was the only customer in the entire resort!

Good: Great location. Efficient service. Spotless rooms with good decor. Wonderful views of Mekong from the balcony. Very serene in the early hours of the morning, just before sunrise. A great place to just sit and relax with a book or by the pool. And also a great place for more active travelers, since there are many places of interest nearby. We went to see 3000 Holes, to six smaller Khmer temples in Si Sa Ket province, to Pha Taem National Park to see prehistoric paintings and unusual rock formations (called Sao Chaliang), and for a Mekong boat cruise to see the two-color river, rapids on the Mun river (in Kaeng Tana National Park), and to watch sunset over Mekong and the hilly Laos countryside. Prasat Khao Phra Wihan is also nearby, a 2-3 hour drive from the Resort. Will not hesitate to come back for a second stay. Couple of downsides: Remote location (but this is also an advantage). Hence, impossible to get transportation to town (other than through the Resort). Restaurant on a terrace overlooking Mekong is good, but no other choice to eat out for many miles around. Remember to stop by 7-11 each time you are in town - to get few snacks or drinks you can't live without, since minibar selection is rather limited and they do not have a convenience store in the Resort. No furniture on a balcony overlooking Mekong.

Have stayed here twice before and have nothing but praise for the staff and lovely surroundings. The restaurant is always good quality. However my stay was ruined by a group of low-life customers whose behaviour was totally unacceptable. This is not the hotel's fault, but I feel the management should have been more proactive in explaining to these people that there were other customers present and the constant use of bad language and high levels of noise were totally unacceptable. I would have checked out, but there are no comparable hotels in the area. Will go again, but hope it is a bit more peaceful next time.

We stayed in a Deluxe Riverview room. We were stunned by the wonderful view and the layout of the room. We had a bay window and a large balcony. Everything in the room was in good order. The staff were great at Tohsang Khonjiam. They were helpful and friendly. Ms. Jo in the Spa was especially nice and gave us some good tips for local sights to see. The overall setting and atmosphere of the Resort is just about perfect. Highly recommended.

Tohsang Khong Jiam Hotel is as every time great! Five or six times within four years I bring friends their on a trip to Issarn, all are happy to stay in this wonderfully located hotel. Staff in the restaurant are jolly, friendly, even remembering my name, smiling, food is great, the location of the outdoor restaurant is superb with the wonderful view of Mekong and Mun River joining together. However this time (JAN14-17) unfortunately it was too windy and cold to sit outside. Definitely I will choose this hotel again on my further trips to Issarn and recommend it to my friends.

The room was very clean and comfortable... the breakfast was good as were all meals we had there...I have read some less than complimentary comments and I as a well travelled person, this establishment was very good and for the price .. excellent. My only suggestion would be to have an egg station for breakfast rather than have pre-made omlettes, but even they were fine. I would happily stay there again...although a detailed map with distances marked on it to places like the airport would be handy since my rental car did not come with Sat Nav as not many signs had english sub titles.

I stayed with a friend from 13-17 April, 2008. The location of the resort and river view from our Superior Room on the 3rd Floor was beautiful. All the facilities are meticulously maintained, excellent food and dining, very courteous and helpful staff made our stay delightful. The only fault I could find was the trickle water pressure in bathroom faucets and shower, ancient TV with no input jacks to review digital camera video and out-dated equipment in the exercise room. All & all, a wonderful place to stay to chill out from my hectic full time office work and city life in Phuket, Thailand, where I ve been living for over 30 years.

We had a great honeymoon here. Rented a garden bungalow, which was super comfortable and private, but we kind of wished we had a regular room, so we d have a river view. Staff were all nice as can be. Restaurant was tasty Isan-style dishes. And it was a good base for exploring the area & jumping over to Laos.
